    People are so fortunate to have access to youtube, etc, so they can learn what us old timers had to learn the hard and sometimes painful way. Also, this video took me a back in thought to when I was a beginner, often referred to as a squid back in the early 90s when I was starting out. I did have a few of the faster riders take me under their wing to teach what your video is teaching. I learned ALOT from them. Please keep the videos coming.

      squid! LoL I haven't heard that term in a little while. For sure people have it good these days. Like you I also had a few faster guys take me under their wing, they also put me through MX boot camp lol, forcing me to go in a big burm hot and hold it pinned all the way through it no matter what happens. The good old days lol

    I was into desert racing for most of my youth and the old timers were always willing to share how to read the desert. In motox I learned about the pit maneuver on a corner unfortunately being on the receiving end of it.😮
    Always enjoyed the desert 🏜 have fun, be safe

    Just wanted to say thanks for this vid, man. I'm 37 and new to dirt after riding street bikes since I was a teenager, but man it's a different world. I'm taking a class with the Moto Academy and AJ Catanzaro next week. Really looking forward to it, but also pretty nervous. Lots of good tips and confidence boosters here. Cheers.

    I have found that all MX tracks have the highest combo of number of riders and rider skill/speed in the first half of the day, making the later half more conducive to a slow-poke like myself. Perhaps that very first half hour is good, but it's gone so quick that it's often not worth it. Often end up with tracks to myself in that last 2 hours or more.

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thats true. The benefit to being there early, even though the small crowd doesnt last long in the morning, at least the beginner can get a few laps in while the track is silky smooth. But your right the last few hours is surely the best for low traffic.

      @@UpAllNight91 are there any places in your area that do night practices under the lights? Dodge City Mx here in North Alabama did several during the spring and summer last year and it was awesome for avoiding some of the heat.

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cbh148 Yes we have Dade city, Moto Bros, Tampa MX, orlando, and many others that do have lights and offer night sessions. I will slip in a night session from time to time but generally prefer days because I can see the track better. But the nights are fun from time to time.

    06 Rm250 or YZ250, what do you like about each?

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Both are great bikes. The RM250 surely is a sharp cornering bike with a fast motor and probably more valuable today because they are not made anymore. But the steal frame does have a life span when used hard on the track and being its going on 20 years old it wouldnt be good to hammer it too much on the track, try to keep it fresh. It is a classic and will only go up in value with time.

    When you get to the track how do you know which class is currently out there riding?

    • @dsweigart197
      @dsweigart197 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      open practice is split by engine size most tracks. 125cc and up for full size bikes. 105cc and less for minis.

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Every track is a little different but most will have a intercom system and announce the classes and whos up next. But if you cant hear the intercom or what not you can always ride up to the track entrance and they usually have a employee their who checks for wrist bands and such and ask him which class is next and what the class order is.
