"Sua Da" ... never knew the Viet name for it until now. Thanks! Whenever I get one (which is perhaps too often) I get super wired. Jumpy. Loaded with caffeine. I sometimes get a second glass with just ice to water it down a bit. Usually takes me an hour at least to drink one. ("Cà phê lá dứa" sounds interesting.)
Yes, sua means milk (condense milk), da means ice. Coffee with condense milk with ice. I don’t know how you guys drink this. Not me, I’ll be up for days. Hubby’s fav.
@@minnesotaphatfoodies Speaking of iced coffee I stopped in today at Nong's Thai and ordered an iced coffee to go. I had cash in my hand to pay for it already. She says "Phone number?" I said "No I just want an iced coffee to go. I have cash right here." She says "I NEED NAME AND PHONE NUMBER!" So I left. I went to Gion instead. That was fun because I was able to order "cà phê sữa đá" and they knew what I meant. I paid cash and was out of there in less than a minute.
@@warrenj3204 that’s weird. Wonder what she thought you needed. Why would she need phone number unless you making reservations for dinner or something. Glad you got cafe sua da!
Honestly I frequently have trouble with the beef in pho because so often it's chewy. Ribeye is no exception. When I buy steaks for the grill I generally go with T-bone or NY strip because I know it won't be chewy. Ribeye is almost always chewy. This is one reason I like that oxtail pho. Tender. I get pho ga or seafood pho when it's available also. Ribeye has fantastic flavor though. No doubt about that.
@@warrenj3204 they actually slice the beef very thin. Making it very easy to chew. I enjoy dipping it into hoisin/pepper dip. Ribeye is usually pretty good if it’s medium rare. It’s seems more fatty than NY which make it seems more tender.
@@minnesotaphatfoodies You're right medium-rare is perfect for ribeye. T likes her steaks cooked more though so mine ends up getting overcooked by accident.

I don’t know what ca phe la dua is? Coffee with coconut?
@@minnesotaphatfoodies It's made with "pandan". Something I never heard of before today.
