With the release of the Uther Kyrian questline earlier this week, 3 new cutscenes were added in addition to the previous memories of Uther. This compiles the questline in its entirety, in sequence. The new cutscenes are actually of the more better made ones this patch, with the movements & lip synch showing improvement. As of now, this is the closest we get to uncovering Arthas' fate in the maw, but some have stated he may have been used as a soul crystal in making Anduin's mourneblade. It remains to be seen. And since the Arbiter did not judge his soul, then redemption may be possible.
I mean I'm going to keep playing regardless of the lore or what happens, although I hope they don't. But it would bed kind of hard for them to bring him back in full for this expansion, maybe just like what they will most likely do with Garrosh
As much as I don’t like Blizz right now I think their intention was to touch on Arthus during this Xpac. Like there’s so much lore centered around him and we are now in the Shadowlands, which has so much tie in with Him. It would be insane if we went the entire xpac and didn’t have him appear. He is one of the most important characters in all of Warcraft and we are really realizing the depth of his actions beyond what we knew before Shadowlands. This isn’t a break glass moment but this is only my opinion. You may not agree but to me this seems like their plan all along.

I feel like the lack of lip syncing in their cut scenes is the problem. This uther/kyrian output is what everything should have been like from the beginning. I feel like theyve designed the covenants but the cut scenes supporting them have been crap up until now for me.
I've got to disagree with that assessment just a bit. If I remember back to the Pandaria campaign, especially the scene between Anduin, Garrosh, and the Mogu bell. There was no attempt at lip-syncing, but the scenes felt wonderful. The problem isn't the medium of telling the story, it's that the story itself is so abstract and forced. Vague concepts of death, the covenants restrictive ideologies, and general bad writing would not be fixed by lip-syncing.
@@Wegrosteak I agree with you. I meant to put a major issue for me personally not the whole issue btw. yeah exactly man i feel the same thing, warcraft 1 to 3 to MoP had great lore since garrosh was the main focus there, but nowadays it became like the movie "Frozen" with each cutscene they include an annoying ass kids song, they trynna make arthas look gay even though he was badass in warcraft 3 story, sad how this blizzard team has a bleeding heart trynna bring back characters that are suppose to stay untouched like arthas or garrosh and trynna make gay characters evil like anduin although it looks like his top evil is when he changes into a teletabiz character singing those songs. Point is blizzard is trying it's best to create more story based on the ash of already used characters that died in the game (uther, arthas, varyin, garrosh, grom) are all great characters who died leaving good lore behind them, no need to bring them back with emotions and bleeding hearts, that insults their existence
Except Uther did listen to Arthas when he showed his doubts about his path, his anxieties. He didn't just pressure him about the great expectations he'd need to meet... _"Lad, no one feels ready. No one feels he deserves it. And you know why? Because no one does. It's grace, pure and simple. We are inherently unworthy, simply because we're human, and all human beings--aye, and elves, and dwarves, and all the other races--are flawed. But the Light loves us anyway. It loves us for what we sometimes can rise to in rare moments. It loves us for what we can do to help others. And it loves us because we can help it share its message by striving daily to be worthy, even though we understand that we can't ever truly become so. So stand there today, as I did, feeling that you can't possibly deserve it or ever be worthy, and know that you're in the same place every single paladin has ever stood."_ But Blizzard never remembers their own lore. I loved Uther, but Shadowlands ruined his legacy and put the final nails in the dead corpses of the Light and Paladin lore.
I always liked Arthas because he was a good villain. He wanted to protect his people and vengeance and it caused him to go on a path that lead to all of his foul deeds. I feel like they've ruined Arthas and Uther. Granted I haven't read any of the books or played the game since Cataclysm. Seeing them so far from what I remember them as is quite jarring.
Yeah, this is some pretty poor writing I'll say... Blizzard have truly thrust themselves headfirst on a downward spiral to mediocrity at this point. WC3 had such an excellent story and look where we are now, it's a complete mockery in every way imaginable. Literally everything mentioned in the video could have been cut down to 2-3 minutes, tops and we wouldn't be left wanting whatsoever. Then again, Blizzard is highly likely to pull Arthas out of it's ass (the maw) whenever their investors notice a scathing decline in profits, should such come to pass of course. That notion reminds me of myself in my younger years playing Magic: The Gathering and playing the Wrath of God or Cyclonic Rift when SHTF and coming out on top haha 🤣!!
my preferred way to bring arthas back would be some scenario where the jailor or one of his people is about to kill or turn Jaina, and Arthas somehow arrives on the battle field in the darkest moment to save her. just the thought of jaina opening her eyes, seeing the true arthas back and protecting her, and hearing her say "Arthas..." would just be amazing and emotional. now of course this will not happen because blizzard is crap at writing.
actually, the final fight will be the jailor about to torture and kill all the main protagonists, and as he is about to kill jaina, Arthas breaks from anduins blade, shatters it in half, like tirion did to his. and the light comes down and starts resurrecting us all to fight the jailor that is trapped within light, totally rehashing the fight with arthas from the beginning
My preferred way is just the same as yours except when Jaina opens her eyes, Arthas stabs her, and tells her I wanted to kill you myself, because that's what a disgusting traitor deserves.
I love this storyline, Uther stills suffering for his burden, it will be great to see a Uther trying to save his Student and Friend in the Maw, remember Kel'Thuzad words.. The Lich King (Ner'Zhul) prevent the actions of Arthas as a Paladin to make his toy and control the Scourge.. i personally think that Arthas sacrifices all for the good of his people, so he deserves redemption, also a speech after all those years living in those actions as a spectator inside his controlled body, like Anduin.. Thanks for these videos man! Loved it all and i will still waiting for more!
The most tragic part is how Arthas doesn't even struggle. In his mind, he too believes this is what he deserves. And I'm just going to head things off by saying that while I personally think he deserved a proper trial and a punishment fitting his actions that I do not believe he is entirely guilt free either. While for the best of intentions, he still decided to go to Northrend and take up Frostmorne even though he knew it was cursed. And that act caused a string of actions that lead to the death and damnation of an untold number of innocent lives. Regardless though, he did not deserve to be cast into the maw without a fair trial. And the fact he does not fight or struggle is indication of the guilt that weighed on him in that moment. Arthas, for all that he did, was once a good man who legitimately wanted the best for his people. And here at the end, he knows he cannot undo all that he did. So he accepts what he feels is a just punishment
Giving the lore the best spin possible; I don't know if this is what Blizzard intended but I can see it from reading between the lines. The sigils that were stolen were created with the intent to keep Zoval jailed within the Maw and stripping him of his power. These new sigils would have been useless to Zoval since they are being created without the intent of suppressing his power.
You can make another Key if you lose one. Doesn’t make the key you lost any less important. The sigils being lost was bad because they could be used to free the Jailer, not because they themselves were unrecoverable or remakeable. And the Jailer still likely had the the original sigils.
So Jaina during BFA and Uther here, their main lesson is to offload responsibility. The ones reassuring the two of them tell them it’s not their fault and they shouldn’t blame themselves. Except it was their fault and accepting that is important. Not surprising, I bet the writers are big “omg therapy” types and too many contemporary therapists are all about offloading responsibility (which just creates more problems.)
Last quote made me think... where is Tirion? Will we see him in the maw soon? I hope so, I miss him, he taught me compassion and restraint, his heroism was ideal.
everything about the uther arc was good up until he said that Devos led him down a dark path and that he "it was not his choice". sure devos manipulated him but ultimately he chose to throw Arthas into the maw for what he did, he chose retribution.
Man, I'm coming back from having played through Uther's storyline through the Warcraft games and poking through the WOW expansions as they came out. I'm floored at the quality of the animations, the effects, the voice acting, and ofc the story telling that they've brought back to finish these characters stories.
"What *fate* befell *Arthas* in the End?" "At the moment of his death, Devos and I claimed his soul, and cast it *into* the *Maw*" "Without the Arbiter's knowledge? So he might yet have had a chance at *redemption*?"
I am not sure what would the Arbiter role would be in this? Aren't she supposed to bring Arthas soul back to be judged "the right way" before casting him "justly" in the maw by Uther 1 side soul?
The fact they dedicate a whole questline to Uther reliving his memories of Arthas as guilt and regret signals he may be one of the few to go after him. Then there's others who say his soul crystal may have been used to make Anduin's mourneblade, so we may see Arthas when we go to free Anduin.
@@blackhand2850 are you an idiot, therea nothing wrong in EARNING HONEST money, people actually work to earn they dont just upload the same video the same time to squeeze youtube for cents
Since I left the game this is however..interesting. I hope they bring Arthas back somehow. He is the only character that has this strong aura and charisma that is more interesting than Sylvanas boring redemption arc that I wished gone extreme rather than salvation. But people change 😂 But yeah lets see where this .. goes!?
Uther wasn't the brightest Paladin. Probably the most ignorant. I still feel like Arthas made the right call for Stratholme. He stopped the plague from spreading but was consumed by hatred against Malganis which in turned lead him to the path in Northrend to become the Lich King. I feel like if Uther stayed to help him, that wouldn't have happened. He would have remained calm and rational. Its the stupidity of Jaina and Uther walking out on him that drove him into extreme measures. Someone had to clean up the mess and Uther and Jaina chose to check out rather than figure out how to solve the issue at hand. Uther I feel is a very weak character. Arthas on the other hand fully committed to his crusade at the cost of his soul. I think it would make sense for Arthas to find redemption in the Maw so that he's whole again.
Why didn't they just copy paste the wc3 dialogue voices instead of re-doing them sub-par all over again? it literally killed the whole vibe of how awesome this could've been..
what fate befell Arthas? blizzard brought him back for one trailer, and after everyone bought the expansion they killed him off-screen and destroyed his soul and whatever else may have remained of him now he lives only in our memories. may the people responsible suffer for the rest of their lives. if videogames made people violent they would need to live the rest of their lives under witness protection.
You know what this means? The King Will Return. At least I hope arthas gets a redemption arc, he kinda deserves it. Also I can just imagine his music playing as he returns in a blaze of glory to destroy his jailer.
All this, only for Blizzard to do Arthas dirty and have him as a fragment of a soul that just disappears. What a joke, and an out of touch decision to make. This expansion has been a shit show lore wise, I would rather have BFA again.
Lich king Uther Kelthuzad all of them voiced by same person. Man he is truly the voice of wolk expansion. he is the voice of our childhood. Dont ruin wow more blizzard.
I'm so tired of Blizzard trying to redeem mass murdering genocidal war villains. Arthas & Sylvannas are both responsible for the deaths of thousands of souls. There is no redeeming them or coming back from that.
if the storywriters suddenly go and tell that Devos was working for the jailer i will lose my sh*t, she definitely wasnt, and was driven more by personal issues, not some grandpa death bs edit: no new content on this video, sadly
Didn't the dialogue from the Spires of Ascension confirm that Devos chose the path she did because of Uther's memories _along with_ listening to the Jailer's words?
its not about fucking lip syncing bois. its about that the player CANT develop an emotional attachment to any of these characters, because the quests aren't designed to do that. Some fucking cinematics won't make us attached to any character. The quest design is flawed and makes the characters feel distant, bec the storyline doesnt fucking include them as much as it should.
tbh, they should bring back Arthas! At least, AT LEAST for Jaina! She deserves an eternity of peace with Arthas! Its been the longest for her now, her love and her wait! She now deserves to be happy too! I cant wait for that day! For them to hug each other and know, this time they won’t be separated and are with each other, always forever! 😭
We should have met Arthas in the maw or at least have some kind of quest from Kyrian to try to see if his soul can be redeemed. He was jailers pawn after all..
Uther gets an excuse/redemption, sylvanas gets an excuse and is looking like may get redemption, anduin gets an excuse and will most certainly get redemption, where tf is Arthas’s chance!

Ok perfect description for it.
yeah exactly man i feel the same thing, warcraft 1 to 3 to MoP had great lore since garrosh was the main focus there, but nowadays it became like the movie "Frozen" with each cutscene they include an annoying ass kids song, they trynna make arthas look gay even though he was badass in warcraft 3 story, sad how this blizzard team has a bleeding heart trynna bring back characters that are suppose to stay untouched like arthas or garrosh and trynna make gay characters evil like anduin although it looks like his top evil is when he changes into a teletabiz character singing those songs. Point is blizzard is trying it's best to create more story based on the ash of already used characters that died in the game (uther, arthas, varyin, garrosh, grom) are all great characters who died leaving good lore behind them, no need to bring them back with emotions and bleeding hearts, that insults their existence
@@BADR00724 i kinda wished for wc4 and so on
Yep
yea. Lots of reboots, revivals.
Uther really threw Devos under the bus on that one
We must learn... compassion. Also, she made me do it, throw all blame on her.
So stand there today, as I did, feeling that you can't possibly deserve it or ever be worthy, and know that you're in the same place every single paladin has ever stood."_
But Blizzard never remembers their own lore.
That notion reminds me of myself in my younger years playing Magic: The Gathering and playing the Wrath of God or Cyclonic Rift when SHTF and coming out on top haha
🤣!!
my preferred way to bring arthas back would be some scenario where the jailor or one of his people is about to kill or turn Jaina, and Arthas somehow arrives on the battle field in the darkest moment to save her. just the thought of jaina opening her eyes, seeing the true arthas back and protecting her, and hearing her say "Arthas..." would just be amazing and emotional.
now of course this will not happen because blizzard is crap at writing.
actually, the final fight will be the jailor about to torture and kill all the main protagonists, and as he is about to kill jaina, Arthas breaks from anduins blade, shatters it in half, like tirion did to his. and the light comes down and starts resurrecting us all to fight the jailor that is trapped within light, totally rehashing the fight with arthas from the beginning
Athelarius here milking our attention with Arthas.
XD
You get an Arthas! And you get an Arthas. Arthas for all!
No new content … why upload this ?
Dunno about everyone else, but I would love to see Arthas find redemption at last, and getting to say his apologizes and goodbyes to Jaina.
Im calling it, arthas will be the one to end all of this sacrificing himself
5:33 just imagine this fight. horserider standing still to fight a single soldier on the ground. XD
All 5 McMuffins are needed for our customers breafkast to be McForged. 6:38
So we might get the boy back? LETS GOOO
It’s honestly doesn’t make any sense because what is the point of Sigils when you can just make another one after one is stolen.
The lore, ladies and gents
You can make another Key if you lose one. Doesn’t make the key you lost any less important. The sigils being lost was bad because they could be used to free the Jailer, not because they themselves were unrecoverable or remakeable. And the Jailer still likely had the the original sigils.
Damn.....the new voice-overs of the old WC3 lines is so sub-par compared to the originals from WC3........
True. I'm still glad the OG Uther voice is here tho, he's amazing.
@@HeartFlamming Yeah. Same with Jaina.
Sylvanas as the new Arbiter will send Arthas' soul to Bastion where it will be Uther's student again.
HAHAHA
So Jaina during BFA and Uther here, their main lesson is to offload responsibility. The ones reassuring the two of them tell them it’s not their fault and they shouldn’t blame themselves. Except it was their fault and accepting that is important. Not surprising, I bet the writers are big “omg therapy” types and too many contemporary therapists are all about offloading responsibility (which just creates more problems.)
Last quote made me think... where is Tirion? Will we see him in the maw soon? I hope so, I miss him, he taught me compassion and restraint, his heroism was ideal.
"Then I must consider this an act...of Arthas..."
everything about the uther arc was good up until he said that Devos led him down a dark path and that he "it was not his choice". sure devos manipulated him but ultimately he chose to throw Arthas into the maw for what he did, he chose retribution.
Man, I'm coming back from having played through Uther's storyline through the Warcraft games and poking through the WOW expansions as they came out. I'm floored at the quality of the animations, the effects, the voice acting, and ofc the story telling that they've brought back to finish these characters stories.
We have been jebaited, rest in piece.
"What *fate* befell *Arthas* in the End?"
"At the moment of his death, Devos and I claimed his soul, and cast it *into* the *Maw*"
"Without the Arbiter's knowledge? So he might yet have had a chance at *redemption*?"
@@Athelarius ya and you posted the exact same thing before
It also is interesting how Uther struggles to ever forgive himself for Arthas
Very human...
He couldn't forgive himself for not acknowledging that Arthas was desperate and terrified, which led to his fall from grace.
I am not sure what would the Arbiter role would be in this? Aren't she supposed to bring Arthas soul back to be judged "the right way" before casting him "justly" in the maw by Uther 1 side soul?
Click bait title... You dont get to see anything new regarding to Arthus his story line.
i didnt see a single thing that shows 'arthas' redemption'.
“Let’s spar! That should clear your mind…”
*Bonk* *Bonk bonk*
Seriously, wow has become a free netflix series... on youtube.
Is Uther going to the Maw to save Arthas
The fact they dedicate a whole questline to Uther reliving his memories of Arthas as guilt and regret signals he may be one of the few to go after him. Then there's others who say his soul crystal may have been used to make Anduin's mourneblade, so we may see Arthas when we go to free Anduin.
3:10 these footmen are extreme Arthas simps XD
Uther did not have graying hair when he became a paladin. He was a young stud back then.
Imagine reuploading and extending videos for over 10minutes for money
And yet I keep coming back.
Is there any problem if people earning money?
@@blackhand2850 are you an idiot, therea nothing wrong in EARNING HONEST money, people actually work to earn they dont just upload the same video the same time to squeeze youtube for cents
"i will endure whatever it takes".. *LITERALLY one second later* ... "ahhh i cannot".. SL is a fucking joke
Imagine Arthas sees Mal'ganis in the Shadowlands
“Mal’ganis?! I don’t know how you survived but I...” -Arthas said calmly.
Since I left the game this is however..interesting. I hope they bring Arthas back somehow. He is the only character that has this strong aura and charisma that is more interesting than Sylvanas boring redemption arc that I wished gone extreme rather than salvation. But people change 😂 But yeah lets see where this .. goes!?
It goes to shit.
What music is 10:06? It sounds like arise a death knight, but it continues different.
Why didn't they just copy paste the wc3 dialogue voices instead of re-doing them sub-par all over again? it literally killed the whole vibe of how awesome this could've been..
Skinny Uther doesn't exist..he can't hurt you
Skinny Uther 0:27
what fate befell Arthas? blizzard brought him back for one trailer, and after everyone bought the expansion they killed him off-screen and destroyed his soul and whatever else may have remained of him
now he lives only in our memories.
may the people responsible suffer for the rest of their lives. if videogames made people violent they would need to live the rest of their lives under witness protection.
No redemption yet? WAT!
TL;DR: We might get an answer of what happened to Arthas in 9.3
There most likely wont be 9.3 tho 🙃
@@dvls442 my point remains 🙃🤣
@@Frankenllama 😄😅
🙄😟
I think with everything that's happened...the only thing left that I want to see is what happens in the end with Arthas.
"Friends aid me", bugger off blue boy your on your own lol. Now that's a realistic wow player scenario.
Agree, I really looked forward to his appearance in Shadowlands. Illidan had a closure in his story, Arthas deserved one too.
Lich king Uther Kelthuzad all of them voiced by same person. Man he is truly the voice of wolk expansion. he is the voice of our childhood. Dont ruin wow more blizzard.
No matter how many expansion wow had. None could best arthas soundtrack invincible
So Nothing New?
There's 3 new cutscenes that went live on Tuesday. Don't know if people saw them somewhere else but first time posting here.
I'm so tired of Blizzard trying to redeem mass murdering genocidal war villains. Arthas & Sylvannas are both responsible for the deaths of thousands of souls. There is no redeeming them or coming back from that.
Arthus vs Sylvanas re match Yes. Sylvanas will win of course She s playing a double game very well
if the storywriters suddenly go and tell that Devos was working for the jailer i will lose my sh*t, she definitely wasnt, and was driven more by personal issues, not some grandpa death bs
edit: no new content on this video, sadly
Didn't the dialogue from the Spires of Ascension confirm that Devos chose the path she did because of Uther's memories _along with_ listening to the Jailer's words?
I seen this stuff about what a few weeks ago maybe a month
One part of me happy and nostalgic.
One part of me says Wow is still milking the actually amazing Warcraft 3 lore and characters...
Damn Uther looking famished as fuck.
9:36 sus
I still don’t get it, I’m thinking Uther soul was in frostmourne and that even in all of his torment he still wanted redemption for his soul.
what version of Invincible/Arthas my Son plays at the beginning?
It's Arthas my son, unreleased version, you can look it up in TH-cam :D
9:35 Sus
...and in you, Mall Walker.
its not about fucking lip syncing bois. its about that the player CANT develop an emotional attachment to any of these characters, because the quests aren't designed to do that.
Arthas was the greatest villain of all time his story his character the armor the sword
We should have met Arthas in the maw or at least have some kind of quest from Kyrian to try to see if his soul can be redeemed. He was jailers pawn after all..
Why....why does Arthus sound like dio?
Here to post months later Arthas' redemption predictions have not aged well.
Someone knows the song for the first scene? It is sometimes referred to as Ebon Hold voices chant, but I cannot find the version in this video
name of soundtrack at 04:16?
Throwing his soul inti the Maw without it being judged by the Arbiter... 😞
I don't think Arthas deserved the Maw
Arthas redemption = Sylvanas has chance too ♥️
Sylvanas does those things herself, Arthas was controlled all the time
Reverse

damn... the quality of the textures... so bad for blizzard
I just wanna see arthas 😭😭😭
What is the music at the start?
THEY HAVE MASSACRED ARTHAS'S VOICE WTF
Uther gets an excuse/redemption, sylvanas gets an excuse and is looking like may get redemption, anduin gets an excuse and will most certainly get redemption, where tf is Arthas’s chance!
