I’m just happy to see Kael’thas again. His fall hit me rather hard, harder than Arthas. Played as a Blood Elf in BC and I enjoyed searching for him in Outland… only to find him changed on Azeroth.
As someone who doesn't keep up on these things, played WC3 and early WoW, dropping off after Wrath and just coming back sporadically since, did not even notice the change. I think the guy did a good job.

Keal'thas betrayed Vashj when he joined Kil'jaeden. So i would imagine she doesn't like him much anymore. She knows he's arrogant and power hungry and doesn't trust him, she never broke her loyalty to Illidan.
Basically what MrKnaives said. They ran out of material from Warcraft 3 and characters from the first two Warcraft games (Deathwing from Warcraft 2). Activision Blizzard can now only go down the Disney route of member berries. Member Kael? Member Vashj? Member Uther? Member? And now they can only retcon to death established lore so they can pull the "AKCHUALLY" card. This whole expansion has been just that, diminishing characters and previously established lore just to keep the carcass going and pretend that they are presenting us with deep and great lore. If it has to come at the expanse of previous lore, you are not adding to the story, you are literally butchering it. Just let the past be, allow the dead to rest. Hiya folks! Confirmed: Jaina is a dreadlord. That’s why she let Arthas purge Stratholme alone throwing him into the hands of Mal’ganis. This tinfoil hat is great too. This is meant to compile all talks between Vashj, Kael, Illidan & Arthas and serve as a tie-in with w3/TBC lore. The chemistry between Vashj, Kael and Illidan was my favorite in Warcraft 3, so it hurts to see their fate wasted in BC.

I knew he was powerhungry, selfish and obssessed in saving the Blood Elves but id really wish they could bring Kael'thas back to Life so that he can redeem himself
There should be 2 sides evil and good paths to follow and you follow certain heroes/villains through favor to turn into a naga, dreadlords or a third faction and on PvP servers can wage a fel incursion upon the land. Dreads and liches very well would be cool warlocks/mages but alot to think about in the future for sure.
They added a kneeling animation for Kael in the cutscene where he meets Illidan. They really seem to have touched up on the moments that would be relevant to Shadowlands.

Hmm what you said is quite true, but i don't think that age has something to do with it. More like lack of ideas. This game is here for nearly 20 years(WoW i mean), not to mention W1, W2, W3 + TFT so it's not surprising that they "lost their breath". They are still trying to "make game better and lore more complex", but they are totally lost in it. Plus, with each expansion, they are trying to throw somethin "bigger, more evil" at you, but as of now, there is literally noone interesting left. You even killed equivalent of "evil gods" and now you are going to defeat "evil aspect of death" itself. What else can you do? Champion(player) of WoW experienced pretty much everything game like this can offer(RPG, MMORPG). Big raids, nostalgia with Lich King and Illidan, old gods, titans, time travel, space travel even afterlife. What else they can introduce?
Y'know despite the... mishandling of a great number of things on Blizzard's part I do genuinely wonder where characters like Gul'dan ended up considering there are now two of them in our timeline and a tad bit of curiosity about which Covenant realm Illidan would have been sent to and if his character from Warcraft 3 or his... Legion personality have ended up in different places had they met their end near those spots of time...
It is said that fel consumes to soul and that's how Guldan died. I'm not 100% sure on that, I'm thinking fel consumes the anima around the soul. The more anima you have the longer it takes fel to consume your soul. The body will disintegrate before the soul is consumed (this is also how they could have Varien in SL). Also the last remnants of Nerzhul are in 9.1.
Having Vashj back as a protagonist was the best part of Shadowlands. Everyone simps for Azshara but Vashj is the kind of woman who gets things done properly.
Everything they did with Kael'thas after WoW was born is bad, I'm not sorry. TBC was the beginning of the end for his character, and I'm still freaking salty.

People, it's been 20 years for Kael'Thas since WC3. And 15 of those years he spends dead, seething in anger and pride. He is not the same character anymore, and it makes sense he isn't. It's not because of Blue Hair writing, it's not because of incompetence, if anything they are more competent for understanding that those circumstances makes a soul sour and become angrier.
That's not the point ? He was wasted as a character since TBC and if it was partially cause corrupting energies, one can argue that he should have been released from it in the afterlife. And in Warcraft 3, we only saw him after the Blood Elves fell and he was wrought with guilt. We never actually saw what Kael was like, and considering he was a High Elf Prince in a race that was famous for their species wide arrogance, it probably wasn’t anything like what we saw of him in Warcraft 3 and much more like what he is now.

I don't think all Dreadlords are siding with the Burning Legion. Mal'ganis sided with the Death (Denathrius) and Lothraxion sided with Light while Tichondrius, Mephistroth, and Balnazzar sided with the Burning Legion (Sargeras). Like humans, some are good, some are bad.

Unless Denatrius actually planned to provoke naaru invasion to catch one and "exile" natrezim to "sever ties". Unless Lothraxion turned afterwards during unknown centuries. There are hints, sure. but this hints may indicate on variations of story.
I still find the Shadowlands a bit comical in that its denizens get to choose their form to whatever degree. Yes exactly! I feel like WoW's player base as a whole is always fixated in the past. They don't understand the amount of time has passed and how the characters have changed during their experiences. Surely, surely, Kael was a guy doing good for his people in WC3, so 5 years that he spends in the Outlands with a mana addiction close to one of the corrupting powers that also gives the quickest gains, his character should still be the same. And now canonically 15 years after that, when he has spent the whole time apart from Vash, seething in pride and anger while she moved on from her mistakes, surely they would still be the same characters from WC3 too?!? I mean it makes sense, characters can't change, what is this, competent motivation?
I've farmed Ashes of Al'ar enough times to know what Kael'thas actually sounds like and this ain't. That being said, I really really love this voice actor, Same guy who did Axel from KH2/3 and Raiden from Metal Gear Solid Revengeance.
If you think about Kael'thas Sunstrider was a by product of another fallen prince (Arthas). It was the burning legion who manipulated both of them and used them as instruments to their will. Sargeras himself is the embodiment of Lucifer, both corrupted by their greed and lust for power!
What victories does Vashj have exactly? The only ones I can think of are also Kael'thas'. If anything her motivations seem more selfish and sinful than Keal's.

And also, if I remember the first Chronicle book, Vashj joined Illidan because she was told to do so by the old gods, who thought Illidan would further their own plans, which actually explains why she was ever loyal to him in the first place.

i can't be the only one seeing that blizzard is putting to much detail to the dreadlords both in story and character models, we ever see blizzard put so much detail in both gender in a race un less they are getting close to turning them into playable raceses.. maybe it is just me, but something about the dreadlords new lore and physical appearance seems off....
kaels old voice actor from wc3 was perfect, so much better than this new guy. yet in the wc3 remake they made him a beefy he-man face, which doesn't fit him. and lore wise he was retconned twice, from turning him into a mustachioed cackling villian the moment he set foot in outland to a full on second retconning in shadowlands where he becomes a pompous childish brat which they punish him for, yet which he never was. he was retconned that that is what he was but he never really was that! and honestly he was a quiet spoken prince (yes with some princly arrogance) up until the retcon as you can see from his voice in wc3 and the books vs shadowlands and the new terrible voice actor. shame they shat on his lore so much, and to this day he's denied justice. the writing really is bad, or else so many people wouldn't be upset. you can bring in new material without tearing up lore of old beloved charchters. it's like in TBC when they first retconned him and just suddenly make him and Vashj ultimate evils cause they wanted a quick boss to throw in, and wrecked what could've been endless awesome story to grow by just knocking them off as cliched baddies. lazy stuff for deadlines and a quick check, now they are like Disney unable to create any new good stuff without milking the husks of good charachters. if they were respectful to kael and vashj true lore, we could be teaming up with them to kill the scourage and fight the sanlayn and have endless opportunities. or even just closure would've been nice for these long time heroes where kael at least gets justice. i can only cope by telling myself he made a clone of himself to leave in shadowlands, while the real him peaced out to Dota2 as the Invoker.

What pains me as much as the voice actor for Kael'thas is the decision they made during TBC to drastically change Kael'thas' character. He was the loyal type, honorable, thinking only of his people... and they twisted all of these values off-screen to make us fight a disloyal, selfish betrayer prince. Thanks to that, Blood Elves have no dynasty anymore, we're stuck with a regent-king that will never be a true king.
Kael didn't want to be king (I guess after 3000+ years of one king the high elves just sort of forgot how monarchy works tbh), that much was lore that predates BC. And honestly having only the humans who end up with absolute monarchies is funny to me

Hiya folks! Confirmed: Jaina is a dreadlord. That’s why she let Arthas purge Stratholme alone throwing him into the hands of Mal’ganis. This tinfoil hat is great too. This is meant to compile all talks between Vashj, Kael, Illidan & Arthas and serve as a tie-in with w3/TBC lore. The chemistry between Vashj, Kael and Illidan was my favorite in Warcraft 3, so it hurts to see their fate wasted in BC.

Glad I never knew any different voice actor since burning crusade, this Kael'thas has been KAEL'THAS FOR TOO LONG TO BE USURPED, HE IS GLORY.
There should be 2 sides evil and good paths to follow and you follow certain heroes/villains through favor to turn into a naga, dreadlords or a third faction and on PvP servers can wage a fel incursion upon the land. Dreads and liches very well would be cool warlocks/mages but alot to think about in the future for sure.

Hmm what you said is quite true, but i don't think that age has something to do with it. More like lack of ideas. This game is here for nearly 20 years(WoW i mean), not to mention W1, W2, W3 + TFT so it's not surprising that they "lost their breath".
They are still trying to "make game better and lore more complex", but they are totally lost in it. Plus, with each expansion, they are trying to throw somethin "bigger, more evil" at you, but as of now, there is literally noone interesting left. You even killed equivalent of "evil gods" and now you are going to defeat "evil aspect of death" itself. What else can you do?
Champion(player) of WoW experienced pretty much everything game like this can offer(RPG, MMORPG). Big raids, nostalgia with Lich King and Illidan, old gods, titans, time travel, space travel even afterlife. What else they can introduce?

Y'know despite the... mishandling of a great number of things on Blizzard's part I do genuinely wonder where characters like Gul'dan ended up considering there are now two of them in our timeline and a tad bit of curiosity about which Covenant realm Illidan would have been sent to and if his character from Warcraft 3 or his... Legion personality have ended up in different places had they met their end near those spots of time...

It is said that fel consumes to soul and that's how Guldan died. I'm not 100% sure on that, I'm thinking fel consumes the anima around the soul. The more anima you have the longer it takes fel to consume your soul. The body will disintegrate before the soul is consumed (this is also how they could have Varien in SL). Also the last remnants of Nerzhul are in 9.1.

Having Vashj back as a protagonist was the best part of Shadowlands. Everyone simps for Azshara but Vashj is the kind of woman who gets things done properly.

Everything they did with Kael'thas after WoW was born is bad, I'm not sorry. TBC was the beginning of the end for his character, and I'm still freaking salty.

The scene is there, and Vashj tells him that she ASSUMES that Illidan is neither dead or mortal.

People, it's been 20 years for Kael'Thas since WC3. And 15 of those years he spends dead, seething in anger and pride. He is not the same character anymore, and it makes sense he isn't. It's not because of Blue Hair writing, it's not because of incompetence, if anything they are more competent for understanding that those circumstances makes a soul sour and become angrier.
That's not the point ? He was wasted as a character since TBC and if it was partially cause corrupting energies, one can argue that he should have been released from it in the afterlife.

I don't think all Dreadlords are siding with the Burning Legion. Mal'ganis sided with the Death (Denathrius) and Lothraxion sided with Light while Tichondrius, Mephistroth, and Balnazzar sided with the Burning Legion (Sargeras). Like humans, some are good, some are bad.
There is a book you can find in Revendreth called [Enemy Infiltration - Preface] I would give that a read. You will learn where loyalties are placed.

There are hints, sure. but this hints may indicate on variations of story.
I still find the Shadowlands a bit comical in that its denizens get to choose their form to whatever degree. In Ardenweald some souls are literally squirrels or other small critters, not that every countless amount of souls would want to be the apex predator in the after-life but... A SQUIRREL?! The furry life transcends death I suppose

Yes exactly! I feel like WoW's player base as a whole is always fixated in the past. They don't understand the amount of time has passed and how the characters have changed during their experiences. Surely, surely, Kael was a guy doing good for his people in WC3, so 5 years that he spends in the Outlands with a mana addiction close to one of the corrupting powers that also gives the quickest gains, his character should still be the same. And now canonically 15 years after that, when he has spent the whole time apart from Vash, seething in pride and anger while she moved on from her mistakes, surely they would still be the same characters from WC3 too?!? I mean it makes sense, characters can't change, what is this, competent motivation?
I've farmed Ashes of Al'ar enough times to know what Kael'thas actually sounds like and this ain't. That being said, I really really love this voice actor, Same guy who did Axel from KH2/3 and Raiden from Metal Gear Solid Revengeance.
If you think about Kael'thas Sunstrider was a by product of another fallen prince (Arthas). It was the burning legion who manipulated both of them and used them as instruments to their will. Sargeras himself is the embodiment of Lucifer, both corrupted by their greed and lust for power!

And also, if I remember the first Chronicle book, Vashj joined Illidan because she was told to do so by the old gods, who thought Illidan would further their own plans, which actually explains why she was ever loyal to him in the first place.
@@Karlonstark the chronicles can’t be looked at as something accurate anymore. Azshara was always trying to kill N’zoth and Vashj was never loyal to him.
There isnt much of a change in the voice, in the acting tho... Kael was never arrogant, not sure why he is so arrogant now.

i can't be the only one seeing that blizzard is putting to much detail to the dreadlords both in story and character models, we ever see blizzard put so much detail in both gender in a race un less they are getting close to turning them into playable raceses.. maybe it is just me, but something about the dreadlords new lore and physical appearance seems off....

kaels old voice actor from wc3 was perfect, so much better than this new guy. yet in the wc3 remake they made him a beefy he-man face, which doesn't fit him. and lore wise he was retconned twice, from turning him into a mustachioed cackling villian the moment he set foot in outland to a full on second retconning in shadowlands where he becomes a pompous childish brat which they punish him for, yet which he never was. he was retconned that that is what he was but he never really was that! and honestly he was a quiet spoken prince (yes with some princly arrogance) up until the retcon as you can see from his voice in wc3 and the books vs shadowlands and the new terrible voice actor. shame they shat on his lore so much, and to this day he's denied justice. the writing really is bad, or else so many people wouldn't be upset. you can bring in new material without tearing up lore of old beloved charchters. it's like in TBC when they first retconned him and just suddenly make him and Vashj ultimate evils cause they wanted a quick boss to throw in, and wrecked what could've been endless awesome story to grow by just knocking them off as cliched baddies. lazy stuff for deadlines and a quick check, now they are like Disney unable to create any new good stuff without milking the husks of good charachters. if they were respectful to kael and vashj true lore, we could be teaming up with them to kill the scourage and fight the sanlayn and have endless opportunities. or even just closure would've been nice for these long time heroes where kael at least gets justice. i can only cope by telling myself he made a clone of himself to leave in shadowlands, while the real him peaced out to Dota2 as the Invoker.

What pains me as much as the voice actor for Kael'thas is the decision they made during TBC to drastically change Kael'thas' character. He was the loyal type, honorable, thinking only of his people... and they twisted all of these values off-screen to make us fight a disloyal, selfish betrayer prince.
Thanks to that, Blood Elves have no dynasty anymore, we're stuck with a regent-king that will never be a true king.
Kael didn't want to be king (I guess after 3000+ years of one king the high elves just sort of forgot how monarchy works tbh), that much was lore that predates BC. And honestly having only the humans who end up with absolute monarchies is funny to me
