    My dad lost over 70 pounds just doing intermittent fasting and he turned his life around🥹 he was much more strict with it and would fast for longer period of time but I would definitely recommend it to people struggling to lose weight❤️

    I’ve been feeling rlly down recently as my parents found out about my eating disorder as I starve myself by consuming 300-500 calories daily but I watched a few videos and realised what i’m doing is the wrong way to lose weight and after 2 months of heavy depression accompanied by my eating disorder I took my health into my own hands and today I ate more than I would although I still push myself to do 2 hours + exercise everyday I am trying to change my habits into a healthier lifestyle.

    Intermittent fasting and cutting carbs is two of the basics of a Healthy Keto Diet (which I'm currently on).
    Just a short spiel about my current weightloss journey (read on if interested):
    It's been about 4-5 weeks now and I've lost weight faster than I thought humanly possibly with minimum routine exercise. Although I'm pretty active when it comes to the type of work I do daily.
    I started out around 70 kg about a month ago and now weigh 63.5 kg. I lost more than 6 kg in a matter of weeks which is absolutely insane for me because I never knew something like this would happen to me.
    My height is arround 158 cm, which paired with my starting weight, I was a really short and chubby kind of gal. Muffin top and all 😂
    Since then I've had less hunger cravings, more stable energy throughout the day, lost most of the excess fat that accumulated throughout my body, better digestion and less bloating.
    I'm better of now than I ever was before and I want to keep improving to reach my goal weight of 55 kg. Still seems like a pretty steep challenge but consistency is key afterall.
    And I realised that you have to eat healthy first, put your body first so that it can get the nutrition that is ACTUALLY NEEDS and then you'll lose the weight.
    So far I'm going strong and maybe if I remember in the near future I'll come and update this commemt.
    But kudos to anyone reading this who are on a journey of weightloss and a more sustainable healthy lifestyle. I wish you all the best of luck and happiness!
    P.s. I use Dr Eric Berg as my main source of knowledge about the Healthy Keto Diet/ general health.

    I'm so glad I came across your channel. And I love the fact that you pointed out how important it is to not use numbers to measure ones' progress, the numbers game can get so toxic, coming from personal experience too. Do you have tips on how how you deal with those bad days of food guilt and bad body image? But sending you love and hope to see more videos from you

    • @ricezhangg
      @ricezhangg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Awww thank you for stopping by my channel! I think one of the biggest hurdles for me personally was getting past the mentality of eating one "unhealthy" thing leading to "ruining" my healthy day? (not sure if that makes sense ahaha). Im not sure if anyone else also can relate, but something that helped was getting rid of "cheat days". This helped a lot with not only feeling guilty about eating certain foods, but also helped me to get back on a healthy diet for the next meal! (instead of feeling like i have to make the most of my cheat day & eating more "unhealthy" foods for the rest of the day). Hope this helps & sending u lots of love as well!~ ❤️

    I love this video!! It’s short and precise💕 My question is how can someone decrease their carbs and sugar intake? Literally 90% of my diet is sugar and carbs, so I live on bread (French bread and toast), rice, jam, peanut butter, fruits, ice cream, soda, juice, cereal (usually sugary bc the “healthy” ones don’t make me full) and almond milk, smoothies, hamburgers, fries, potatoes cooked in oil at home which is similar to fries, eggs, yogurt, and sausages. I tried to change my diet but I end up starving bc there’s nothing to eat after I cut my carbs...any tips?

    • @ricezhangg
      @ricezhangg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +44

      For me personally, I started by replacing little things in my life and gradually cutting down on processed food and replacing with healthier alternatives. For example, you mentioned that you drink juice. Perhaps instead you can make your own smoothies with 100% frozen fruit (still sweet but also has a lot more fiber to keep you full). Or for example, instead of frying potatoes in oil you can try baking them instead alongside other vegetables (I personally really like broccoli and zucchini)! In terms of staying full, I always find myself feeling pretty satisfied after eating a lot of protein! It’s a bit difficult for me to fully answer your question bc everyone’s body and taste in food is different, but I think as you experiment with different recipes and new ingredients, you’ll definitely be able to find something that works for you 🥰

    • @TheYarrHarrPirate
      @TheYarrHarrPirate 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Also chiming in here! I would try switching your carbs to wholegrain versions as much as possible. They have more fibre and protein to keep you fuller for longer. Also try things like quinoa and wild rice which technically aren't grains but can be used similarly :) My last tip is to try and increase the amount of veggies you're eating. For instance, whenever I want pizza, I make sure to also eat a salad on the side. Eating things like a salad or a portion of extra veggies can mean that you can have smaller amounts of the foods you love (reducing carbs and sugar) and increasing the amount of nutritious foods you eat every day, so there's a nice balance! Hope my tips as well as Rice's help you 🤗

    • @cookinghealthy8049
      @cookinghealthy8049 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you switch to whole grains and do a bulk eating of plant based foods you will lose weight and be satisfied. Also switch your sugary drinks out especially to green juicing

      i’m the same. the majority of my diet, even the healthy stuff, is carbs and i’m beginning to think it’s contributing to my large appetite. i’m trying to go for a ~slowly decrease~ route. start looking up low carb foods and pick out the ones you like and the ones you’re willing to try 👍

    • @shoegal
      @shoegal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Can relate. The others here are right, increase your protein as you lower your carbs. I cut my rice with lentils or quinoa for example. Half cup rice, half cup quinoa instead of one cup rice.

    You don’t need to cut rice , pasta or bread to lose weight. Please any young girl watching this video don’t. Let me remind you that countries with the slimmest people and healthiest people live on carbs. Cook at home 80% eat everything in moderation and trust me you will lose weight. Avoid junk food or at least eat it once a months if you want.

    • @charlotterhotilde7388
      @charlotterhotilde7388 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@banoon1475 Don’t be afraid of carbs they do not make you fat. It’s a big fat lie. What make you fat is junk food. Rice , pasta , noodles and good sourdough bread are part of a healthy diet. Change your whole diet by not being afraid to those things. You can eat 100/120 of cooked rice, cook 80/100g pasta and eat 150/200g protein of choice and vegetables as much you want. Use 1 tbsp of good oil max daily. Have 3 meals a day + 1 snack at 4pm before dinner. For dessert you can have a piece of fruit or yogurt of your choice full fat. Don’t eat light things they are the worst. Trust me this how we eat in Paris or in Europe in general and we are slim we don’t cut food groups. Dieting is not good for you. Just try to have a balance and enjoy things in moderation.The food will be always there tomorrow for you to enjoy again.

      @@banoon1475 he lied to you. No doctor will tell you that here. What’s the point the point of having a diet that will last just a couple of months just for you to gain back the weight? Eating healthy should be a lifestyle not misery. Can you go your entire life without eating carbs? No one can so instead of dieting find a balance that will be your lifestyle by eating every food in moderation. My friend lost weight by eating exactly the way I told. If you’re looking for a quick fix this ain’t it. Stop dieting and start living your forever lifestyle with exercise it doesn’t have to be the gym but at least 30mins walk per day and you will see the results if you stick to it.

      Great question! I’m actually pretty flexible with the time but normally I’ll eat at around 11am/12pm then have my last meal at around 6pm / 7pm! So I fast for 16 hours and have an eating window of roughly 8 hours.

    Well partially. It’s only when you eat it on it’s own that it causes a big rise in blood sugar. But nobody does that right? We always pair those two with protein fats and complex carbs. So don’t worry too much or be strict about. Above all do what works for you and makes a diet enjoyable

    • @ricezhangg
      @ricezhangg  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiya! For me personally, I didnt cut all carbs~ I just tried to cut back on the most processed kind (ex. eating whole wheat bread from a local bakery with simple ingredients instead of the kind that comes out of a bag at the grocery store). Rice was a huge one in my life, so I replaced it with vegetables or protein (my favorites are cauliflower rice & tofu!). It was a gradual process and took a whole year for me personally~

I think as long as you gradually decrease the unhealthy processed kind (French fries, sugary cereal, etc) and find a healthy balance that works for your lifestyle! In terms of rice vs potatoes, I think it depends on how it’s cooked (baked or steamed > fried)

      Hi! I never really fully cut out carbs/ sugar! I just tried my best to cut down (for example 0% sugar milk tea instead of 100% or eating open faced sandwiches with one slice of bread instead of two). In the beginning it definitely takes a bit of getting used to because nothing tastes sweet 😭but now that it’s been a few years I rarely have cravings for things I used to like (milk chocolate, very sweet ice cream, candy, etc). In terms of calories, I don’t count them at all! When it comes to food I try to focus on quality > quantity.

    It’s great you’re at a place where you are happier and satisfied with your health. However, the part about your diet was slightly problematic for me personally. I understand you mean cutting down on processed carbs, but then you go on to propose that eating processed carbs in the long-term will contribute to diabetes. Now, I think you mean that if you ate those types of foods very regularly in excess for a long period of time you are LIKELY to develop diabetes. What you implied about your dietary changes felt like a sweeping generalisation, clearly it doesn’t matter what you eat as long as you lead a moderation and balanced lifestyle. I’m only being critical at this particular point in the video because as a person who used to be extremely restrictive and demonised certain foods labelling white rice as the direct link to diabetes is perpetuating a certain type of thinking. As a person with influence on the internet, I think you should consider and reflect on how you discuss food. I respect your decisions to be more mindful of your body and mind, thank you for sharing. Also, your “before” image looks almost the same as your “after”, the viewer can’t tell what was wrong and it implies there was a problem before you made a change. I’d like to know what was wrong with the “before”? I just see a healthy slim woman in both images.

      you can't see what's wrong because she went from a healthy max. 65kg with 175cm height to a more questionable weight of 53-57kg, if she feels healthy with it sure but framing it as a healthy weight loss if you end up with only 4kg to being critically underweight (49kg for her), don't know, is that a healthy goal lmao
      but the majority of those vloggers just jump on the trend bc those videos have tons of views. she didn't even show us any weight loss footage, it's literally only 'i cut out white rice, did some exercise and some fasting, et voila', with 300 clips of her food that had nothing to do with that. also, in the video she did later, she eats cheesecake, curry with plain white rice, drinks an only fruit smoothie, eats korean bbc, a slice of frozen pizza for breakfast with salad, like no hate but seems more like she's slim anyway or that food is absolute not representative of her actual diet

    Hey, first of all I thing this is a very aesthetic video and I enjoyed your style of filming! However, I don't think this is a very body-positive video. Saying things like "suffer from cellulite" like it is a disease is not really a positive approach to a good relationship with your body. Also, you can't get rid of it with muscle targeting exercises. You need to decrease your overall body fat percentage to achieve that. Hope that you consider this as constructive criticism. Have a nice day!
