I learned how to crochet by watching YT tutorials. I'm very well versed in all the options that are here, and I just wanna tell you that you are my ABSOLUTE FAVE channel I subbed to in the entire 2023 year!!!! ❤🎉 Thank you for all you do!! I appreciate you VERY much!!
@@CJDesignblog Thank for the reply!! I'm thrilled to be here... And the mustard yellow color in the winter blankie makes me EXTRA THRILLED!! 😁🤗 I'll DEFINITELY be sticking with ya for 2024!!!
I love this pattern. I used purple, lavender, & a variegated purple. The only thing I changed was… I used a double double triple double double for the corners instead of the change 2 space. I’ll get a picture of it when I’m done and post it to your facebook
So beautiful! I’m working on the not your abuelita’s blanket rn but this is up next! Just finished the headbands before :) Quick question tho, your links to the tapestry needle and scissors come up as 8mm crochet hook. Could you share the link to these please?
Love this pattern. You mentioned 64 dbl crochet on the last row or 16 per side. I only got 14 per side, making 56. I tried to count yours and it seemed it was also 56. Can you please confirm?
I thought if you tend to crochet ‘tight’ (as I do) you should go UPa size, so in this case instead of using a 9 mm hook like her, I’d use a 10mm hook , but she said go down to an 8mm. Can someone clarify this for me a bit? Please😊
@@CJDesignblog I very likely got mixed up but I’ll double check. Thank you so much for telling me though! Just got a new 10mm hook I’m dying to try out 😀
Haha I’m halfway through this and saw this comment I crochet tighter and went down a size like the video said😂 was a bit confused bc it’s actually working out pretty good they’re just sorta smaller than what they look like it the video but I’m glad bc it’s for a nursery🤭
I finished all my circles and gave them 13 clusters instead of 12 and didn’t realize until all were done, ends were weaved and I started on turning them to squares. Is this salvageable? 😭
I'm sure it is! In the extra space you can do the 2 sc instead of 2 hdc sc, sc 2 hdc. I would do 2 hdc (in one space), 2 sc (in the next space) and 2 hdc and in the next space. Only for one group of stitches, that way you use the extra space you have. It might look funny for the first wound of the square, but the second round should make it look better. Try and let me know! I hope it makes sense :)
I’m making this blanket as well but I have a question: for the 5th row you say it had to be 64sts but as I’m doing step by step I only get to 57, how/where do the other sts go???? Also in the diagram in IG I believe I only counted 52sts in the 5th row, am I missing anything?? Please help 🙏🏻
I’m having this same problem- i come out to 56 every single time. (With 14 on each side). Idk why I’m missing so many but it looks right to me. I think as long as every square has 56 is probably doesn’t matter as long as they’re the same
I'm in the same boat as both of you! I THINK there is a small wording error in the pattern and in her video. If you read the pattern it says on the prior round that there are 48 stitches counting the chain 2 in each corner. I think this round is 64 stitches total counting the chain 2. I've re-done these rounds several times and there is just no way to have 64 double crochets haha. So I think it's 56 double crochet plus the chain 2 spaces in each corner to total 64 stitches. 😊😊
I’m confused why you said you already chained 1 at the very beginning when chaining 3 after the magic circle… I’m a beginner so sometimes the terms confuse me, but I didn’t see you chain 1, so it looks like you’ve only chained 2. Now i’m confused on if i’m chaining 3 after the magic ring or if the end of the magic ring counts as 1 chain so then you only do 2 more… Someone help! 😅
I completed all my squares and now I'm ready to connect them but I'm struggling to follow along with your video. I feel as though you didn't demonstrate how to connect the squares once you get to the end of the square. You only demonstrate the first two squares and then you jumped to all of your squares being connected. For me it's very confusing and I want to learn the correct way. I've reread your instructions but it's still very unclear and I learn by watching. Can you or someone please give me some pointers in connecting my squares. Thank you
I agree...I wish she would have explained it better in detail and also show in the camera! Mine is almost ready to put together, but I also have squares that do not lay flat at all and her are super flat..how does that work. I think they need to be blocked?
@@cherylflannery1479 Hers aren't super flat. They are smoothed out in the photo if you look closely. It may be a bit puffy....I am a little interested in whether or not they ever loose that puffiness...

Beautiful!
Thank you!😊
Merci pour les explications j ai tout compris même si je parle pas anglais car vous montrer tout doucement thanks
I am in the process of making this and wondering if the puffiness of the center of the square will go away eventually? Love the pattern, thank you,
I am in the process of making it also. I found if I do the chain 2 between petals very loosely, the squares lie flat.
Gorgeous
Thank you!!
I’ve just started this pattern. Will the puffy center of the squares eventually get flatter? Thank you.
Hi, im really struggling with joining the squares together… can I pls get any advice ♥️
My centers are still very puffy after finishing this blanket. Any thoughts? It worked up beautifully otherwise.
When you join squares are the right side or wrong side of the square facing you? TIA
I want to try this soon
Why is it important to block when using other materials? And when do you block? Before or after putting the squares together?
Do you cut off the yarn at The end? How to continuously connect them to go to another set of granny squares?
I can't make it to the 64 doble crochet in the second row of the beige color
Si quieres hacer el círculo más grande, de cuántos puntos tiene que ser para poder hacer luego el cuadrado? Gracias!!
YAYY! Would it be ok to use a different bulky yarn of the same size?
Try a sample. That’s what I do.
Oh for sure! Any super bulky yarn would work for this size. But you can also try different yarn weights, you just have to make more squares ☺️
How many more squares will I need?
How many balls are used? Can you give information. How many rope should I buy?
How did you make your’s such a good square? My “square” looks like a pentagon😭. Help me out please 😭.
Ciao coperta bellissima volevo chiedere gentilmente la misura della mattonella e di tutta la coperta...grazie

Oh really? Let me fix them! ☺️
How many balls of yarn?
Beautiful! Can I use the Forever Fleece yarn instead?
Yes, of course! The square might be a bit smaller so you have to make more in order to achieve the desired size :)
Pues me vengo acá y te adivino lo que dices !

A ver sis e me pega algo😂

I just can't see where I missed them.
I thought the same but she’s counting the two sc in each corner which makes 64
Ok. Thanks Nancy, that makes sense. I wasn't counting them.
@@lauriefehr7193 you’re welcome
That’s correct! You also have to count the chs ☺️
Can I use the brand I love this yarn for this
You can but the squares will be way smaller :)
How do you crochet granny squares with letters where it can look cute on both sides of the blanket?
I don’t think it’s possible to make it look nice from both sides, unfortunately
If the background color is different, can I still use the technique in the video to join the squares?
Of course you can! It would look just as nice!
Oh okay! Thanks for the quick reply!!

That’s what I would think also. I’m still a beginner so I don’t know for sure.
Sorry! Did I say if you crochet tight? Gosh! If you crochet loosely go down a size 😅

Can I use this pattern with number 4 weight yarn
How much smaller we it be
Yes you can! It will be way smaller, but you would have to make more squares in order to achieve the desired size

You are right. The first chain was the one that she made to lock in the magic ring. Then she just chained two more to make a total of three chains.

Starting right now. Will reply when done with one square😂
Can we here the skien?¿
@marthaturner2176 Not sure what you mean but hope this helps: she is using Bernat brand Blanket style yarn. She mentions colors in beginning of video.
How many balls !!??
