I recently started using the llittleextra reactivate hair growth serum since the past few days, and it's natural. I have scalp psoriasis and use the Briogeo sal acid shampoo, which I LOVE, but I’m going to try the Neutragena. I also use Briogeo’s castor oil as a scalp mask once or twice a month - it has been a game changer! It really reduces my scales, itching and flaking.
What an insightful video Dr! I suffer from dry flaky scalp with scaly patches, have been prescribed a steroid lotion to use on my scalp and I find washed my hair with a salicylic acid shampoo really helpful. Thank you for covering this subject and offering your recommendations, most are available here in the UK too so double thanks! I love your ethos and approach to all things skincare, you're so down to earth and you give real and relatable advice, always! Thank you for your channel, it is a life saver! Sending you much love from me in the UK 🇬🇧 ❤️
Thank you for acknowledging that you can have dry scalp and seb dermatitis! I generally have dry scalp except around the edges of my face/hair line. I’ve tried many over the counter products like you’ve mentioned and only prescription ketoconazole has helped until recently. Dove came out with a new scalp + hair therapy line and the clarifying shampoo for oily scalp (not the scrub) has eliminated all of it. Like, one wash and poof it was gone! It doesn’t dry the rest of my hair out either. They also offer other products in the line but this has been a game changer. Smells nice too! Just sharing in case others have had similar issues to me. 😊
I had a hysterectomy at 32, and had no issues with hair loss. I breastfed for 5 years after (so no hormone therapy). When I started oral Estradiol, it helped a lot. 5 years later, I was experiencing cardio issues, so I stopped oral and switched to suppositories. Within 6 months, I feel like my hair has taken the biggest beating. I did go through a huge dietary restriction situation due to UC, and wondered if that was a double whammy. I'm hoping these hacks will help me get close to my old hair again, I feel like I've lost 40% of my thickness overnight!
Doctor I just want to thank you soo much. Because you solved my 6 year old stubborn eczema. I tried the Triple Paste Diaper Cream on my daughter's rashes that she had on both sides of her mouth. They are completely gone. My friends are noticing and asking me what i did to get rid of her rash. My daughter has add this rashes since she was 6 months.
I also have been using T-Gel for a long time and it helps my dry, flaky seborrheic scalp! I had cradle cap as a baby and have been using some type of scalp treatment off and on ever since!
Dr Idriss, I have gained so much knowledge through your videos & pearls of wisdom. I have been following you since you used to do your Pillowtalk Insta lives out of your bedroom/closet. It was just so refreshingly unique. So so informative. I’m writing here today not addressing any hair issues/products/problems or question. I’m writing because it is your latest video and I have a skin concern that just dawned on me to ask you about. I’m soon to be 62yrs young (next week), and have the past few yrs developed on the tip of my chin and a small area of my nose, a bumpy texture. I exaggerate by calling it alligator skin, but it’s more like cauliflower(?). It’s not scaley, it’s bumpy. Someone once said it comes with age. I saw a dermatologist and said it is caused by fat deposits(?). I have been using Paula’s Choice 20%Niacinimide serum solely on the affected areas. The tip of my chin has had beautiful results, unfortunately I can’t say the same for my nose. I realize you are extremely busy, you receive a multitude of questions with a myriad of concerns, yet I was hoping this may be something you might want to talk about in one of your segments in the near future. The dermatologist I saw was at a military hospital, so anything that they may consider esthetic or cosmetic they will not address, all I was asking was a recommendation (i.e. skincare product etc, etc) I just feel there’s got to be some other 60 something yr young person out there with bumpy alligator/cauliflower skin that may benefit from your knowledge and expert advice. On a side note: congrats on your new skincare line. Have not tried the depuffer yet (it was sold out), but I have the Major Fade Flash Mask, the MF Hyper Serum(Love) and the MF Active Seal(also Love). So happy for you. I wish you much success, you most certainly deserve it after all the hard work you put in!💗🤗💗 Blessings Always!🙏🏻
I really would love to use your products Dr Idris, I hope you can ship to Australia soon. I have been watching you from the beginning and I was devastated when I couldn't purchase your skin care when it came out. Thank you for all you do. I have learnt so much from you
My mother has been getting debilitating eczema all over her scalp and nobody seems to be able to fix it for her. Her GP and derm described a cream for her that LITERALLY said on the package "do not use on areas with hair" and when she pointed that out to them, they were like "Oh wow never read that". When she puts it on her scalp her hair loss increases dramatically but it's the only thing that gives her some relief.
This is great! A comprehensive overview instead of just focusing on one hair issue. I think it would be even better if there was an accompanying flow chart diagram of some type.
accurate and informative video, obviously helpful as well. i should say, RIGHT before this video was suggested to me, I had googled "why does my hair get oily fast," then i opened YT to find what I could and ur video was suggested right there lol soo convenient, ty
Hello Dr. Idriss, I received your skincare products yesterday and that was so exciting, couldn’t wait for the evening to apply them on! Did step 1,2 and 3 last night, this morning used the Depuffer , applied sunblock and went on with my day, it’s 6:30 pm and I just realized I forgot to rinse off the mask last night 😂
I love your videos! The way that you are talking, shows how passionate you are about your field! Could you please make a video about hair loss as well? And make it like a series starting from causes and then treatments? That would be awesome! 💚🫶
Happy international women's day 2024. I may not be leaving comments in every video but i try to watch every single video of yours. Thanks for all the information. ❤
You forgot to mention menopause related scalp or nerve scalp pain to which I have both. Our hormones change and things go downhill with our scalp. I like T gel for once a week use. But not too often because it can still irritate my scalp. Definitely going to try Ordinary glycolic acid. Great video!
I used to use the T-Gel and it worked so well but Neutrogena discontinued it :/ Gotta find a replacement. Might check out some of those recommendations and see what works! Great timing thanks 😊
Hi Dr Idriss, thank you for creating these amazing videos. I always watch them and I like how informative they are and how you're empowering people with education. Just wondering if you can create a video addressing discoloration in other areas like underarms for example? It would be much appreciated. Thank you and all the best! ❤
Loving all the education! Could you please make a video on topical estrogen for the face and skin? I am seeing a lot of ads for post-menopausal women. Thank you!
I just discovered Dr. Idriss this week and I’m so so glad i did. Very honest and direct. Currently I’m having hair loss. My hair has always been thin and I don’t have a lot of hairs so it’s really concerning me. I’m looking on how to have thicker hair. I’m very open to recommendations
Thank you for the great video! For your next ones, I was wondering if you wouldn't talking about under-eye in office cosmetic procedures like PRP, fillers, etc. Thank you so much!
I watch your videos regularly, you're amazing. Your recommendations with Botox for the armpits and Ordinary for the face have made my life a lot easier. Thank you and keep up the good work Greetings from Germany
I just discovered your videos and i love your honest no-bulshit approach! Thanks for all the info! Its so fresh to get a dermatologist like you being so direct with every issue. I wanted to make a suggestion of video, because there it A LOT out there about face skin care, but no so much body care. Im now in a process of losing a lot of weight and though i know not having lots of lose skin is on genetics and losing it slowly, I'd love for you to recommend useful skin care. I think this could also be interesting for pregnant women so just putting the idea out there! Thanks again! 🙏✨
Love the content! I would be curious to see if you could or should adjust your skincare routine based on your monthly cycle or if there’s really no necessity. I know right before my period my skin gets more oily and more breakouts, so just wondered if it can also impact tolerance or sensitivity to certain products or if you should just keep a consistent routine through the whole month !
That glycolic acid is one of the best products I've owned. The bottle lasts forever and I use it every week on my face, use it on my body and on my feet and armpits. Ive used it to exfoliate my scalp twice a month. The bottle lasts for months.
Voted on Allure! Also Loving this hair video ... I've had an itchy scalp sitch with my hair extensions and been wondering about using an exfoliant/ glycolic acid so thank you for the info! I also watched a video about how antioxidants and exfoliators can help prevent the greying of hair so that's a plus.
As a long time sufferer, most of the products mentioned here are old friends. I left a comment on another short video to a similar effect (though still not quite sure if its seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis that I have as I have symptoms/characteristics of both). Could you do a subsequent video about effective treatments that offer a more permanent solution (ex. In-office treatment) - if possible? Most of the topical treatments (which I've used as directed, cycling different periods for about 20 years) usually offer some relief for any itch, but none for the flakes/recurrence. Thank you for addressing this, and we appreciate any future advice!
Thank you so much for being so generous giving us genuine and honest helpful videos. You are the only derm I watch now. I don’t want to waste my time watching other derm doctors anymore
Hi doc! New to your channel and so appreciate your content and expertise. Can you do a video recommending under eye patches without hylaronic acid?? I’m struggling to find options and want to take some with my on long haul flight to Korea this summer. ❤
Hello Shereene, I have a video i'd love to see, which is a bit of a challenge: Top 3 Cabin Luggage Essentials for Every Skintype. I have to travel for work, usually by plane and usually with cabin luggage only and room for 3 small liquids max for skincare. Now have a block of trips for 3 weeks in a row coming up. So deciding whats the most important for that (except the damn sunscreen, which is a must) is sth i really struggle w right now.
Excellent video…You are the best as I have just started face care…I’m one year in, definitely can see a difference! You have taught me so much and I thank you 🙏 SPF, cleaning, order of products…just everything ❤ One day I will be able to get your line! Have a blessed day ☮️😊❤️
If you have 4C hair and are experiencing hair loss, see a trichologist!!!! They will be able to tell you what to do and if you have CCCA (central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia, the American Academy of Dermatology Association has a really informative page about the condition), early intervention is key in preventing more hair loss.
❤ Thank you so much for this video, Dr Idriss! ❤ I had to check out that scalp massager from Breo, and I found a coupon “N20” that takes off 25% from their website, (I get no reward for that either 😂). I saw that you recommended hydrocortisone ointment for the scalp -there is also a liquid version for the scalp that is sold right next to the 2% salicylic acid (at least in CVS). I’ve suffered from a variety of scalp issues, and I’ve found that ointments work best, but totally suck to use in the hair. Cornstarch applied to the goopy areas before the shower helps to get it out of my hair if I’m desperate enough to use an ointment. Thanks again - I am so grateful to you for teaching us Nerds. 🤓
The video I was waiting for. You described my dermatitis issue so good I cried :D I've always had an itch around my nose in the winter, but this year my eyebrows started and I seriously considered shaving them off, that's how bad it is.. Anyway - I'm going to the pharmacy (drugstore here) and buying Nizoral PRONTO :D I also recently got diagnosed with chronic dishydrosis on my hands, so I hope massaging it will help that sucker too :D Love you Dr Idriss, you've been a LIFE SAVER
Hi, I have always had a dry scalp and a bit of dandruff, maybe built-up, but recently, I noticed more itching and a hot sensation, mostly on one side of my scalp. Which shampoo would be better? Thank you.
My lovely dr Idriss, do you think you can talk some more about psoriasis on the skin of the face and neck? I am currently struggling with it and have no idea what to do. My dermatologist prescribed some steroids which I am terrified of using. Maybe you have already covered this subject and I just can't find it. Hugs from Poland ❤❤
Hi, I love ur videos they are so helpful. Question tho how do I get rid of this horrible malasma, it’s taking over my life, I feel so insecure and hate it. I tried 3 scripts/creams from my dermatologist and nothing, any suggestions???? HELP!!! Please please please
I suffer from severe dandruff on my scalp. No matter how many times a week I wash my hair with ketokonazole based shampoo or stay in lotion, it keeps on recurring. Is there anything I should do internally ( diet, capsules etc.) in order to keep it at bay?
9:40 This is so me!! Thank you, I had never thought I may need an antifungal shampoo😆 I discovered your channel a couple of months ago and your recommendations have been working for me (especially on retinol)❤ Thank you!
Hello!! I look forward to your pillow talks every week! Do you have any over the counter suggestions for psoriasis on the skin (knees & elbows)? My father in-law has had it for years
Love this! Thank you so much!! P.S. there are head spa salons in NYC. I've actually been to one twice in my life, not because I felt it helped my scalp (it didn't, and they had no idea what to do with my curly hair, so of course it was a dry mess after), but because it was sooooooo relaxing.
Thanks for all of tips! Any ideas for someone dealing with greasy hair but who's sensitive to salicylic acid? Ever since a miscarriage a couple of years ago that resulted in losing some of my hair density, my hair gets greasy two days after washing it. I used to wash it 2-3 times a week and only occasionally use hair styling products. I'm nervous to try a scalp treatment with salicylic acid since it tends to make my face super dry and flaky, even when I use it sparingly and at lower concentrations. Are there other oil-regulating ingredients you would recommend? Eta some additional info: my skin is combo, I live in a desert (but my skin still reacted to salicylic acid when I lived somewhere less dry), and my hair has zero curl pattern and is generally medium thickness.
Very insightful, so many useful products! How can someone understand, on their own, the specific problem they are facing? Because sometimes it is not that easy to do a self-check
I'm 0% into beauty but you make it so accessible and doable. I've actually started taking better care of my skin because it's not so overwhelming the way you present it. I can't afford a $100 copay for a derm appointment to find out basics, but I can afford $10 for skme sun screen and $10 for the right cleaners.

Wonderful video. Always so educational and amazing guidance. Thank you so much.
Couldn’t be happier for you guys with your news to come next week! Congratulations

The opened door in the mirror … I might watch too many horror movies but the door was so distracting… 😂 but thank you for the tips!
Great info! But my scalp was itching the entire video! 😂 The power of suggestion.
Thank you so much, Dr, Idriss. You are awesome 👏🏼 👏🏼

Bisous depuis le Québec😘
Good morning Dr. Idriss!
It was very helpful, thank you doctor ❤
Instant sub! I wish i started watching you sooner!!
Ur hair is getting sooo long. Love it. Ty for this video
Walmart Equate tar shampoo comes regular and Xtra strength versions, much better and cheaper than T gel Neutrogena for psoriasis
Hi,
I love ur videos they are so helpful.
Your videos are very helpful ❤❤
9:40 This is so me!! Thank you, I had never thought I may need an antifungal shampoo😆 I discovered your channel a couple of months ago and your recommendations have been working for me (especially on retinol)❤ Thank you!
Hello!! I look forward to your pillow talks every week! Do you have any over the counter suggestions for psoriasis on the skin (knees & elbows)? My father in-law has had it for years
Love this! Thank you so much!! P.S. there are head spa salons in NYC. I've actually been to one twice in my life, not because I felt it helped my scalp (it didn't, and they had no idea what to do with my curly hair, so of course it was a dry mess after), but because it was sooooooo relaxing.
love this video, can you talk about shampoo bars?
yay new video!!!!🎉
Pleeeeeease can you address hair loss!!! I’m 40 and I’m dealing with this I think from issues with my scalp!
Must needed video. Loosing hairs. Bad hair year.
