I am interested in the art that was on your stage. I get into flow while doing art and finding patterns. Does this work have anything to do with your ideas around flow? I enjoyed your presentation. thank yoiu
If you want to get into the flow state, you must forget about yourself. flow means you flow with object or consciousness or thinking. brain worry about you always. it might be using your brain about 50%. So if you can forget about yourself, you can use your brain more than usual. you should think there is nothing in the world except that you have to do now. try to imagine that you met murderer. what should you do then? do you have a time to think about your friends, your future, homework, laundry, news, TV, movie or whatever? in the flow state, you have no time to think about other things.
it is a brilliant key to it, though! Enjoy it! Hyperventilating is stress related, this is warrior breathing/Wim Hof method/ also practiced in Tibet as Tummo Yoga. A more western version might be holotropic breathing.
The beginning is one of my tricks for getting into the flow state.. plus I think about everything I need to do to complete the task while giving myself conformation that u can definitely do it.. After building that momentum, I just dive right into the task leaving all the thoughts behind.. When ur finally in the flow state ur brain activity becomes so fast that it feels like u don't have any brain activity, it's like things are happening on its own..
@@alansun211 its hard to explain lol.. The flow state is just like ur reflex but extended. Two easy examples: If ur phone is falling ur gonna try to catch it but if some water spill towards u ur gonna move away. Base on ur reaction time u will be successful in catching ur phone or getting away from the water. At that moment it feels like magic because its like u didn't think u just reacted or it just happened... Its like ur mind, body and soul fuses together to make the thought and the action happen at the same exact time without u even noticing until after the fact lol.. That's y u have to already know about the task and what it takes to complete it, With confidence and confirmation build urself up to the best state of mind for the task, then just instantly do it with ur FULL focus on the task and NOTHING else.. Everyone has different ways of build their selves up to do/achieve something they want but u first must know wat ur doing.. That's y i said its hard to explain.. I didn't fully breakdown the 2 examples above let me know if u want me to and if this was helpful lol
For me its repetitions + calmness + shutting my mind but with an objective always triggers it i had some flow states moments in stress some of them were literally life saver and alcholo makes wonders to my mind
The idea of this presentation was good, however I expected more and the presenter seems really nervous and it is hard for me to listen to him and sometimes he seems to be jumping from topic to topic...
No one is perfect. Everyones flow is different. He was very spot on with the info. And for the most part flowed rather well. That's my take any way. But my take really isn't my take. Meaning I view things in being state. Being cognition versus deficiency cognition. being cognition helps us to see more in the totality so to speak. Deficiency cognition is perception our view of things based on our mind our past experiences AKA the ego. When we view things deficiency cognition one tends to notice the small negative things versus noticing it for what it is. Some people only see the bad things in life and all the good things in life passed them by unnoticed. Some people only view the good things in life and for the most part all the bad things past them by unnoticed. It's all on how you view things. A good quote is absorb what is useful disregard which is not etc. So when one exhibits this one must question one's self how many other things do I view in this manner of deficiency. Maybe something to self observe on? Check out actualized.com you might find it interesting..
@@scotchyelper3402 jeez dude, what you are saying is mostly unrelated and unnecessary and it comes off as "boasting" or "flexing" or showing off your knowledge which is ironic as that makes you egoistic which is being in a state exact opposite of flow. Also, its called observation and constructive criticism based on observation. The presenter is clearly nervous, a clear proof of that is constant mispronunciation of words and breaking sentences. He is clearly not in flow. But the information he presented was good.
I honestly don't know if he was speculating. He may have heard it in a interview with Robin. I may be wrong but I tend to lean more to the side of he heard it. He seems too intellectual to speculate. It's not a trait of a intellectual person as he clearly is. For me I am no one but I am everyone meaning the loss of ego. The self. He seems rather in touch with the concept. IDK though just a thought.
Annoying sales talk. Spends 20 saying what flow state is and making you want it, 1 minute about triggers of flow state, and then keeps the actual practical advice to himself.
Right. And if this is a sales talk this guy has a LOT to learn. I wonder if he was so nervous because it was one of his first talks or because there was almost no audience. I felt somewhat sorry for him but when you mentioned "sales talk," I don't mind saying that he was not in a F(low) state but a double F state (Fight or Flight). But on the dance floor he can say: " Hey babe, I was on TV... "
From a young age, I've just naturally known the most efficient way to solve any problem I've encountered. I can turn off the self-aware part of my brain like I'm still conscious and I can remember everything, but language stops, I don't think, I just dedicate my brain power to doing. It happens under high intensity and when I have a single task and no distractions. Like school is a place where I can just learn, so I do. Idk how to explain it in a helpful way to someone else, it just comes naturally to me. It could be on account of my high IQ, I really don't know, but I've always thought differently from the other well-performing kids in my classes, I've never studied, but I always test better than everyone else. I think you just have to *actually want* to do something. You know what I mean? It can't be like a stress-induced want either, you just have to want it like you want to be successful and have money. You have to want it like you want happiness. *I think that's the secret of entering the flow state. You have to want something, the same way you want to live when you encounter another person with a knife. * A person with a goal is un-fucking-stoppable.
svantiii I started to lose it after my grandfather died. He was the only encouraging parent figure I’ve ever known and he died when I was 12. I pretty much maintained it until I was 15, but the crippling loneliness of having no one to talk to broke me, so at this point I can still do it, but not nearly to the extent I could when I was younger. For like 3 years I tried, alone as a child, to regain that same feeling of having a perfectly focused mind, but I never could simply because it is literally not possible to have friends in the mindset I was in. In order to continue with how I was, I would have needed to be arrogant and a huge narcissist and probably ignorant(although I really was open minded, but with how I talked to people, I would never get the chance to understand them), I’ve also been smoking a lot of weed and that definitely reduces my capability of doing anything, but I also do it too much, so take that with a grain of salt. I’m still only 16, so I could completely lose it in adulthood, but for now I still am able to enter that specific mindset in school and just sit alone and learn. Only way I see myself losing it is if I don’t need to go to school, because it comes so naturally there. So I could lose it eventually.
svantiii When I was younger I procrastinated literally everything, finished it last minute, turned it in and got the best grade in the class. Now I procrastinate and I don’t know if it’s subconscious rebellion or habit.
West only recently discovered the Flow state. The ancient Indian science of Yoga, Pranayamà or Breathing techniques, Meditation that lead to this state of flow has existed since centuries.
I don't think a good day has to be measured by how "productive" you are (3:50). We are not slaves or machines. Maybe I hit my flow state while sitting by the riverbank after my workout. Still a good day!
Subscribe to mindsmash and actualized.com you will swim like a fish. But you must invest the time energies in the right places. Watch flow state videos, philosophy science understanding the loss of self the loss of the ego. Check out Bruce Lee quotes like flow like water my friend. The only help they sell help. We all have it within the flow state where it's like one is allowing it to flow through them versus I am doing this. But rather this is doing this through me and for me. Watch Connor McGregor flow state videos. A very powerful quote is self awareness is the biggest hindrance to any physical movement. Meaning lose the self/the ego and flow like water. Let this flow through you and the other swimmers that don't posses this knowledge we'll take the leap and you will be truely impressed at what you can do. One more tip is watch peaceful warrior. It's all about losing the ego which damns us in so many ways. It stars Nick nolte who is a super genius. Good luck their flipper🐟😎
The first qoute is the only help is self help. Use this mindset in your life and live a life you never believed possible. Remember back to when you were a child and everything was interesting beautiful and truly magical? That is the way life really is so find the child within the little boy the little girl within. But have a adult-type intellect. Run your life on that intellect versus emotions. K that's it the rest is up to guess who? You and losing you.
Scotch yelper Everything as a child was only interestingly beautiful and truly magical if you had a good childhood. Otherwise thinking about childhood only brings up negative crap that is counterproductive to a flow state.
this looks kind confusin ... shutin up logik and cortex and feeding ego which eventually it ll become huge and unstopable =will block logik when needed
How to hack ‘flow’ a new perspective from affective neuroscience Procedure: Consistent alternation between a resting protocol (e.g. mindfulness) and the pursuit of meaningful behavior will increase motivation and positive affect (arousal and pleasure). Explanation: Resting elicits opioid activity, or feels pleasurable, and meaningful behavior, as defined as behavior that has branching novel and positive outcomes (writing that great novel or just making the bed) elicits dopamine activity which causes arousal. The awareness of subsequent meaningful behavior while engaging in relaxation protocols such as mindfulness elicits a ‘priming’ response, namely dopamine release that increases opioid activity, and vice versa, making meaningful behavior seem self-reinforcing or ‘autotelic’. This procedure can be derived empirically, demonstrated personally, and emerges logically from an analysis of peak or ‘flow’ experiences. More granular detail on the neuroscience behind this in the little open-source book on learning theory below, and from the work of the distinguished affective neuroscientist Kent Berridge, from whose work this procedure is derived, and who also was kind to review and endorse my work linked below. ‘A Mouse’s Tale’ Learning theory for a lay audience from the perspective of modern affective neuroscience www.scribd.com/document/495438436/A-Mouse-s-Tale-a-practical-explanation-and-handbook-of-motivation-from-the-perspective-of-a-humble-creature ( Explanation of procedure on pp. 109-117, and an analysis of the flow experience on pp.148-151) Berridge article on the Neuroscience of Happiness - from Scientific American sites.lsa.umich.edu/berridge-lab/wp-content/uploads/sites/743/2019/10/Kringelbach-Berridge-2012-Joyful-mind-Sci-Am.pdf Berridge Lab, University of Michigan sites.lsa.umich.edu/berridge-lab/
You're educating people that some social triggers that can be fluid, are malleable and are subjective from person to person are universal and that will create incorrect behaviour patterns that actually sabotage ourselves and others.
Try removing all distractions, oxygenating the body, and focus on a single task. It seems if you would break down what he says he lays out multiple ways to reach flow state. There is no “easy” way to get into flow state regardless of what some would indicate. Being mindful, being in nature, and being challenged and focused are all precursors to low, medium, or high level flow states. This was my analysis of the video so to each his own, also try different things out and see what gets you to flow, you would be surprised what could be your go to trigger(s)
Just fucking play an addictive video game or watch a movie. These moron hippies misticize flow as if it was some ethereal meditation shit. It’s nothing but intense engagement. A productive state of flow is one where you engage into a meaningful activity, so get a fucking guitar, or start writing, LOL
I figured out how to tap into it a long time ago. Like a switch. It sounds stupid but try it, U have to raise both eyebrows and smirk u will notice ur eyes start to water a little bit. Do that for 3 minutes then keep eyebrows relaxed or SLIGHTLY raised for the rest of the time and u will be able to talk or have a conversation like its NOTHING its so damn crazy.

The front asks the questions, the rest answers. This only works if you limit the number of question, after that the answers get lost. I have done this all my life and we all know it but most of us don't purposefully use it. Remember when the answer pops into your head, that's it. Expand on this by asking yourself to do something but be patient for the result and don't ask the question again. That's it!
No, No, No.... inventing fake social triggers to induce the flow state is a dumb idea (unless it's an emergency, in which case you will probably hit it anyways). If you make yourself generate false social pressure just to get better performance - remember this state is addictive - you will, in time, drive yourself into a frenzy... always motivated by social pressure, peer pressure, embarrassment and feelings of social inadequacy.

The nonsensical distractions throughout the day were non-existent. Plus, everyone performed much better, a complete 180 turnaround. As they were not only elated to be in the present learning and concentrating but they never complained and were with more confidence and totally smiling and upbeat as they headed home.
Sitting properly with good posture also increases performance, dramatically.
Ambience, environment, sound, posture and all natural products substantially increases ones performance. 🕊♥️🕊

No need bro.. we have that already within 😎 but rock on! Great movie great concept.
Well we'll suffer the side effects anyway
If you want to get into the flow state, you must forget about yourself.
flow means you flow with object or consciousness or thinking.
brain worry about you always. it might be using your brain about 50%.
So if you can forget about yourself, you can use your brain more than usual.
you should think there is nothing in the world except that you have to do now.
try to imagine that you met murderer.
what should you do then?
do you have a time to think about your friends, your future, homework, laundry, news, TV, movie or whatever?
in the flow state, you have no time to think about other things.
How I forget about myself
That first thing isn't "hacking the flow state", it's hyperventilating
it is a brilliant key to it, though! Enjoy it! Hyperventilating is stress related, this is warrior breathing/Wim Hof method/ also practiced in Tibet as Tummo Yoga. A more western version might be holotropic breathing.
It's more than just hyperventilating lol
The beginning is one of my tricks for getting into the flow state.. plus I think about everything I need to do to complete the task while giving myself conformation that u can definitely do it.. After building that momentum, I just dive right into the task leaving all the thoughts behind.. When ur finally in the flow state ur brain activity becomes so fast that it feels like u don't have any brain activity, it's like things are happening on its own..
@@jay_josejavon284 what is the method you use? I would like to enter flow state at will
@@alansun211 its hard to explain lol..

For me its repetitions + calmness + shutting my mind but with an objective always triggers it
i had some flow states moments in stress some of them were literally life saver and alcholo makes wonders to my mind
oh yeah repetition precisely when the brain starts complaining
Speculation about Robin Williams is not cool.
Otherwise great info and great presentation. Thanks!
Well to speculate on something as such..
I LOVE this.
I've put myself in the opposite of flow state....now I have it in a more positive way. It's more than just elevation.

Gun Smoke more details?
Gun Smoke tks
svantiii I started to lose it after my grandfather died.
Heard concepts before but appreciate your perspective great insight thank U 👍👏🙏

I don't think a good day has to be measured by how "productive" you are (3:50). We are not slaves or machines. Maybe I hit my flow state while sitting by the riverbank after my workout. Still a good day!
Man, I wish I knew how to hack the flow state, I'm sure it would be the key for me to learn how to swim properly and smoothly.

How to hack ‘flow’ a new perspective from affective neuroscience
Procedure: Consistent alternation between a resting protocol (e.g. mindfulness) and the pursuit of meaningful behavior will increase motivation and positive affect (arousal and pleasure).

That's it!

Friction?
No, No, No.... inventing fake social triggers to induce the flow state is a dumb idea (unless it's an emergency, in which case you will probably hit it anyways). If you make yourself generate false social pressure just to get better performance - remember this state is addictive - you will, in time, drive yourself into a frenzy... always motivated by social pressure, peer pressure, embarrassment and feelings of social inadequacy.

@@Marcotonio you got a good point. My point is that when you address to someone to convey and mostly share your ideas it always is about that someone, not yourself. Being so, the purpose flows smoothly by using the voice and body language. It impacts and serves it own purpose. I really like the concept, but since none of them explain objectively the process to "get into flow" without having you subscribe to some mailing list or paying, I can only assume there is no substantial, stone-cut method here, and these people only profit through acting the way they do, which involves looking "better" than others.

Mr. Ree I think he meant random as to when he took the shower. He could have taken it before coffee or after or at noon or 5pm.
