Hello! Please explain if someone is in the "flow" of the negative (like obsessed with killing or sex etc) how do we distinguish or is it then called a different name? I thought everything has a positive and a negative? Sorry for my ignorance. Thank U.

    Notes
    1. Inmediate feedback: finding someone to work with who can give us, for example 2-3 times a week , minimal feedback for flow(we should be able to recognize the minimal priorities to cover up in our goals) Someone could point out what sometimes we don't even notice in our tendencies.
    2. Exercise: there's a recovery period for flow, examples like box breathing (kind of mindfullnes, imaginating four sides of a square/box: inhale for 5 seconds, hold it for 5 seconds, exhale for 5 seconds and hold it for 5 seconds.
Any kind of mindfulnnes is training focus and is gonna help flow... also, when we exhale and then we hold our breath for more than 5 seconds, it induces a run or fight response and it's training focus through the panic.
    3. Creativity triggers flow and viceversa, we want to create pattern recognition and what really triggers flow is pattern recognition, the linking ideas together... If we wanna create pattern recognition we have to feed the brain ideas:
In modern world we tend to specialize and theres not enough distance between the income ideas and older ideas to create pat recognition.
We could try to read 25-50 non fiction pages a day outside our core area in something we are curious /interested about so we are giving ourselves basic necessities to make connections that will help us get in flow.
Thanks a lot for the tips!

Wow it's crazy that I was starting to experience the panic he was talking about after a few breaths, just before he explained that we have to focus through it. I really love this practice and can't wait to see how using it, together with other techniques will help me evolve, (of course on my side with all glory to The Most High.)

This is fascinating! Steven's insights on flow as "effortless effort" and the importance of immediate feedback are intriguing. My experience with entering flow while freestyling to beat instrumentals aligns with the idea of effortless effort but diverges in other ways. For me, it’s a relaxed state where complete concentration isn't necessary, and distractions aren't an issue-I achieve flow through a total let-go. Interestingly, my brain activity measurements support this relaxed flow state, indicating diverse pathways to achieving flow. Thanks for sharing these valuable insights!

Excellent!!! Box breathing is a key to stronger vocals. It helps strengthen the diaphragm for better breath for vocal support. ♥️ I can hold notes longer and it helps me sing higher octaves...I actually tapped into an ability to sing Pop Diva style using this method (blues rock and jazz usually). ❤️🎶

    4. Seek out education +practice basics so skills are only slightly below the challenge
    5. Find a Feedback buddy I can show my art to

    7. Deadlines, time limitations
    8. Count, watch, or record brushstrokes
    9. Get a system to know exactly what to do next
    10. Being in a classroom
    11. Paint Yuki
    12. Do some thing creative
    13. Read 20 pages a day from one of your books

Friends, try this one thing: pray for OTHER PEOPLE and see how long you last before you begin thinking about yourself again. When you spend so much time focused on you and your goals and neglecting other people your attention on yourself becomes like a magnet. When it becomes habit to think about OTHER THINGS then you can focus on other things beside yourself. The key here is: love. Prayer is 100,000x more powerful than any meditation technique -they feel stupid bc they are stupid. And doing things like exercise and sports are only good for the moments youre doing them, they dont target the root of the problem. Humans are Spiritual, Mental, Social and Physical and you cant be healthy if you neglect the Spiritual, and the only Spiritual Way is through Jesus Christ. The Bible really does have all of the answers to life.

  • @andrewrich6905
    @andrewrich6905 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

When there is attention there is no thought - Krishnamurti
This is the easiest way to get into flow in everything, be fully present by giving your attention.
Give your full attention to something and you will experience flow easily.
When the challenge is demanding then your attention goes faster into it.

How rest is essential to self motivation and ‘flow’ (or another way of entering flow with ease)
Procedure: Consistent alternation between a resting protocol (e.g. mindfulness) and the pursuit of meaningful behavior will increase motivation and positive affect (arousal and pleasure).
Explanation: Resting elicits opioid activity, or feels pleasurable, and meaningful behavior, as defined as behavior that has branching novel and positive outcomes (writing that great novel or just making the bed) elicits dopamine activity which causes arousal. The awareness of subsequent meaningful behavior while engaging in relaxation protocols such as mindfulness elicits a ‘priming’ response, namely dopamine release that increases opioid activity, and vice versa, making meaningful behavior seem self-reinforcing or ‘autotelic’. This procedure can be derived empirically, demonstrated personally, and emerges logically from an analysis of peak or ‘flow’ experiences.
More granular detail on the neuroscience behind this in the little open-source book on learning theory below, and from the work of the distinguished affective neuroscientist Kent Berridge, from whose work this procedure is derived, and who also was kind to review and endorse my work linked below.
‘A Mouse’s Tale’ Learning theory for a lay audience from the perspective of modern affective neuroscience www.scribd.com/document/495438436/A-Mouse-s-Tale-a-practical-explanation-and-handbook-of-motivation-from-the-perspective-of-a-humble-creature ( Explanation of procedure on pp. 109-117, and an analysis of the flow experience on pp.148-151)
