I am 220+ pounds 5 Foot 3 inches and I was looking for some stretches to do just to get started on my journey and this was so helpful. My lower back hurts so bad I know his leg stretches really helped. Thank you for keeping it simple and giving me a place to start I plan on doing this every day until it is easier and it’s crazy that this would be hard. Lol but it is pray for me.
Just did these back stretches this morning for the first time and really felt the benefit of them. Thank-you Michelle for taking the time to do these videos. 🙏🏼
Thank you so much for these videos. I am finding your presentation so beneficial, not only for the exercises themselves but for your calming voice. I always feel much more relaxed and calm once I have finished your video.
@alicenteno2305 my sincere gratitude to you for your support & generous super thanks - I’m most grateful indeed & this will be put towards making more health content. My best wishes to you for your health & happiness💕🙏
Thx for these back relaxing exercises which I do actually find very relaxing! My back's doing so much better 👍🏽. Loving your smooth Aussie accent and background music too 😌
Michelle I find your pace and calm voice perfect for pilates! I really look forward to the sessions and a recent hard knot in my neck was greatly relieved by your neck & shoulder exercises. Thank you so very much.
This video had changed my life. I have been having back issues on and off since I had kids and I have been doing this 2x for a few weeks and I almost have no pain anymore. Going to start strengthening soon. Thanks so much
Hi Michelle. Love your website/videos and your way of talking us through the various exercises. I am 70 years of age and have been power walking for 4 years (in earlier years did some running) and wonder if you could suggest stretching exercises pre and post power walking. I PW for around an hour (four miles) three times a week. Recently I have been noticing my calves are tight for the first two miles and legs feel tired (heavy). Also I have noticed a very slight (low sound) snapping sound over the hip (snapping hip syndrome?). It has only just started and only happens a few times a day.
Just woke up and did these exercises movements with you. I feel good and I hope I regularly do these exercises with you for better results. Thanks so much for sharing with us
Thank you so much for this video. I wake up with terrible lower back pain every morning and I suffer with my back daily. I’ve been looking for the best stretches for it and this is wonderful. Your voice and something about you is incredibly calming and soothing. Thank you so much for posting this ❤️
@brandywatene7290 my pleasure! I'm glad to hear that you found the video helpful for your lower back! Remember to perform stretches safely and within your comfortable range of motion. Keep up with your stretching routine, and I hope it continues to bring you relief!🙏
I was exercising and did a cool down but my lower back was hurting so much i wasn't even feeling okay lying and then I did these stretches and I was feeling better after like less than 10m of it wow youre a life saver for this thank you so much
@no-reny I'm so happy to know that the stretches helped relieve your lower back pain! It's amazing how a few minutes of the right stretches can make such a difference. Thank you for sharing your experience! ❤️
This was really useful after a trapped nerve in my back last week. Is there anything you can do about the adverts, though, they made it very difficult to follow. I get you need the revenue, but maybe one at the beginning and end so as not to interrupt the routine?
Started rowing again. Like the exercise but my (always slightly present) lower back stiffness gets worse and after a period of rowing becomes uncomfortable. Having lack of hip mobility seems to be causing additional stiffness so gave these stretches a try. Done them twice already. Love the relaxed feeling after the stretches. Hope it will help, but it certainly isn't making things worse.
Hi Michelle, I'm a big fan of yours... I have sciatica. Sometimes it is really hard to do the exercises without the feeling of pinched nerves.. any suggestions?
@@michellephysio thanks for asking. I think the real problem is that my lower back is normally in spasm when I do the exercises. Unfortunately, it seems like a daily problem for me. The exercise I was having most difficulty with is at timestamp 08:55. I love your early morning get out of bed exercise... That loosens me up without any pain. Thanks!
Hi Mellaine I live in Brisbane too - beautiful weather here today 🌞, I'm feeling truly blessed to be safe and warm when many others at this time are doing it so tough
I have been subscribed to your yoga channel for a year. So helpful! have a sway back and both colon and bladder prolapse. Are these exercises effective for both. Is the bridge and all other positions exercises safe or should I make some adjustments. Bev Heberer
@beverlyheberer7069 yes Bev all the exercises I post in videos are pelvic floor friendly. Bridge exercises are great with pelvic organ prolapse - lifting the butt actually takes the load off the pelvic floor. All the best!
I've been looking for warm up before a work out. My lower and upper back have been in alot of intense pain lately. Even stretching it produces alot of pain. I'll get alot of pops that would be intense. I feel like I have alot of disc compression. I think it's caused by the workout in doing, which is DDR. I do alot of stepping and jumping very quickly (it's high intensity aerobic without), which I think is the cause of the compression. I'm a big dude at 280lbs. Just laying down on a flat surface is painful some times. Every video I look up is all about how to relieve back pain, which is nice, but I'm trying to increase my flexibility. Would this be good? Am I you far gone and should see a chiropractor?
Hi Michelle these are very useful and a good reminder. I can’t lie flat though as it’s far too painful. I hope it’s ok to cheat by putting a pillow under your knees.
I’m 29 and am near osteoporosis due to celiacs disease. I’m quite flexible and dance. Is it a bad idea to do splits? I should absorb more nutrients now that I’ve stopped gluten.
I'm 56 now and starting 3 weeks ago my lower back and my sciatica have been giving me a TON of problems. Do you feel that these exercises will help me get better? Thank you 😊
Hi Jennifer these exercises aren't for specific back conditions. You'll need to know what's causing your sciatica in order to know how to exercise appropriately. Usually minimizing sitting down can help and some flat surface walking rather than sitting for extended periods of time. I know this is a tough time but it's a case of needing a medical assessment; either Physio or doctor will help you know how to proceed. All the best!
@@michellephysio Coming up 12 weeks now. I find I can follow all the postures except the 'knee on knee and lift' and the 'on stomach' postures...should I be doing those also by now? Many thanks for ur reply...

I'm working hard to counteract decades of sitting now that I've retired by working out every day and your video really helps when I overdo it. Thanks!
I carry around a toddler all days and I’ve been doing this daily for over a week and already feel so much better. Thanks so much

Which stretching exercises for lower back are safe for osteoporosis?
Hi Michelle these are very useful and a good reminder. I can’t lie flat though as it’s far too painful. I hope it’s ok to cheat by putting a pillow under your knees.
Hi friend, it's definitely OK to use a pillow or two under your knees - whatever makes them comfortable for you to do is fine
Hi Michelle. Why do you say the towel should be around the heel and not the ball of the foot?
Are these exercises ok for someone with osteoporosis?
Love these stretches! Too bad I had to keep stopping every now and then for adds, but I guess that’s the price u pay.
I’m 29 and am near osteoporosis due to celiacs disease. I’m quite flexible and dance. Is it a bad idea to do splits? I should absorb more nutrients now that I’ve stopped gluten.
