I just played the drum kit for about half an hour blindfolded and let me tell you I played so much better than normal than when I'm not worrying about what I'm seeing and just feeling the music
Indeed, my drum teacher told me this exact words. I would be too focus on hitting the correct notes so he told me just to close my eyes and let the beat guide me
@Shak Bruh Isnt difficult in reality. Its pretty simple to learn and simple to play if you learn it the right way. Also its an overplayed cadence that any sane person in drumline hates.
It is funny, to other people that don't play the tenors think it's incredible to play blind folded/ with eyes closed, but once you play enough, you know where the drum is and don't need to constantly look down to know what you are playing. So in reality, you almost are always playing blind folded.
I swear every marching drumline has played Jig 2, or has their own version. Like our school did jig 2 but with 2 solos. A tenor solo, and the bass drums also did one.
All these kids are insanely talented and I mean this in the best way possible, I could do none of this blindfolded or not, but did anyone else think that it may honestly be easier blindfolded after awhile? 🤔 🤣
Tell me how I knew it was going to be Jig 2 before I even clicked on the video? Oh wait...it's a popular video with tenors and on a news youtube channel
With a 4 piece drum set this wouldn’t make things more difficult at all. Piano players do more without looking at the notes even with their eyes open. You only need eyes for very large drum sets with multiple positions.
All of these videos on TH-cam don't realize that playing blindfolded is not that hard. Already you're looking at the crowd or at your music if you're sight reading it, or at a conductor. It's pretty difficult on mallet instruments but on tenors, not that hard
Every musician can play blind folded, even with drums. Its why we can play as good as we can. You feel it you dont see it. Just like guitarist can play without looking and pianist play while looking at sheet music. Dont mean to be negative but its not impressive cause hes not looking. I would expect that
Not to discredit them in any way but playing drums blindfolded isn’t that hard. As long as you know your playing zones you’ll be fine. Plus since you’re supposed to look at the crowd most of the time while marching, learning to play your parts without looking at the drums can be really good for you and the band. But I have to say, that Jig 2 was really good. Props to them
I believe Yamaha used Randall May carriers first, then Mapex, system blue and Ludwig all followed. I think Tama and Pearl are the only ones that make their own harnesses for their drums.
Seriously this isn't impressive, guitar players play blindfolded all the time. When you learn an instrument an know where the drums, strings and ect are it. Then it's real easy

I do the same with jumprope also.
The music just feels better with your eyes closed 🎶
playing blindfolded is much easier if you have muscle memory, i dont think people realise how easy it is
The discipline tho
Fr most people once they know the music don’t even have to look at their drums
Get them to March blindfolded....then it's worth a video.... I hate click bate crap
It's all about muscle memory.
Indeed, my drum teacher told me this exact words. I would be too focus on hitting the correct notes so he told me just to close my eyes and let the beat guide me
If anyone is wondering, this cadence is called “jig 2”
Aka the worst cadence of all time
@@johngarcia8535 nah it’s one of best
@@JamesTrumpet2025 you prob suck at quads then. Because only beginners learn to play this dumbshit.
@@johngarcia8535 😂 👍

Electroguin no not really😂
I heard multiple drum rims from the big one

Righttt like it’s not different 😂😂😂
or some comparing these kids to DCI championship level drumlines like blue devils or vanguard
ya like you're supposed to march looking straight forward so like...theres not MUCH of a difference
They killed it that was amazing i can't stop watching this amazing drums playing i will watch it all over again u go boys show your stuff
This is the kind of thing I wish I could do probs to these guys for their dedication. Yall are crazy good
This is how you learn to know your drums. Exercise, practicing,
Bro look at how fast they are

I've had to play upside down on the snare and tenor, it's fun, but it makes your head hurt
The band:😎
The team:🤓
we had one of our quads do it upside down and blindfolded and this was a FRESHMAN MIND YOU
The last part where they all play was satisfying.
I CAN'T EVEN ESCAPE JIG 2 ON TH-cam
All these kids are insanely talented and I mean this in the best way possible, I could do none of this blindfolded or not, but did anyone else think that it may honestly be easier blindfolded after awhile? 🤔 🤣
I don't play tenors, but at my school they never look at their drums anyways, they look up.
Middle man shows no reaction

Very clean drumline
LeGiT_PePiNo not really💀
Cameron C. He’s joking..... I think.
They have 2 tempos lmao
@@yolohippo seems this drumline doesn’t put all their best players on snare.
Snares beg to differ lol
Holy f that was fast! Amazing performance 👏👏👏
I'm going to join band and get drums
Snares need to work on playing together
Honestly thought. This was worse than my 8th grade ensemble.
Agreed
Texas high schools don’t mess around when it comes to football and marching bands
we finally played jig 2 this year (without director permission haha) and I think I’m gonna get the gang to do this next year!!
As a blind person I find this to be amusing as its really no big deal.
Every school has a kid like the one in the middle. Short, usually plays some sort of instrument and doesn't care much about grades.

Me and the boys getting ready for battle
Like how tuned these drums 😂
Im a drummer to and i play this alot when i get that part but snares are rushing
What're the drums gonna do while he's not looking? Run away?
This looks harder than it really is. but still a great job
I LOVE JIG 2
Impressive
Jig 2 be insane
Brilliant

Pretty good. Idk why they're playing so up tempo

It's not hard. I tried it on Real Drum (the app, because I'm getting a drum set soon hopefully) and its really easy.
As a drummer myself that actually easy
no spocks?
Damb that is so crazy good
These zones are killing me😭
What is the song?
Drum
This is like saying playing Xbox or PlayStation without looking at the controller is hard. 💀

They are talented but let them compete against Belize now and u gon see a challenge
Thats the school i go to
We had a drummer in my marching band who did this for every game.
Have no idea Yamaha makes drums
New video for @Kevin Tran
Man, I see a bunch of these videos everywhere, it's nice, but man am I getting just a little bit tired of seeing it.
Dame!
Eso es difícil?
🔥🔥
where the hell are the spock drums
Respect :O wtf so crazy
😊
Playing blindfolded is actually easier
Forgot you needed eyes to play... What's next, with his shoes untied?

Nah look at the press box
Snares aren't the best theyre splitting everything on accident

Carrier : mapex
WTH

Everything is bigger in Texas go big or go 🏠
That’s to easy percussion is the most easy thing to learn
Good jod
Lol

This is the easiest thing they could have done 🤣
Total nerd flex
All drummers can do that. 🙄 Not post to look down anyways. But good job.
Jig 2 is not crazy hard. If you pull of a Bluecoats I&E drum solo blindfolded then we'll talk
I'n stell
Im out here tryna appreciate some beats but them fools is screamin louder eveytime a mans hits a solo wtf
dirty
That isn’t even hard. The drums don’t move.
They’re bastardizing the art of drums. Better use the full set or nothing
Seriously this isn't impressive, guitar players play blindfolded all the time. When you learn an instrument an know where the drums, strings and ect are it. Then it's real easy
If you can't play with a blind fold on your really not a good musician. Not really impressed here.
That's like saying student played guitar blind folded....or typed blindfolded...
I hate this cadence. It’s basic and generic as all hell.
Yeah not impressive when you are just playing random crap
That's Fucking sad 👎👎👎🙄🙄
Jig2 is not cool anymore
Overates
So fucking cool.
Is it really that hard?
No
