ahahaa just looking out for you! honestly I’ve seen people of all backgrounds as PMs. I would say that the new grad PM programs seem to either ask that you have a technical background or are completely catered to those who don’t have any sort of technical background like Facebook’s RPM program. If you enjoy CS and it fits with your schedule, I would say minor in it!
Depends on what you focus on. I went to Georgia Tech, but you’d only take a compilers course if you choose “Systems & Architecture” as one of your concentrations.

Hmmm.. Seems workload has decreased significantly. The third course, cs30 was the weed-out class. I still remember, the project was to write an OS in assembly. This is the whole shebang: multi-tasking scheduler, I/O, file system, etc. The class started with maybe 120 kids. Maybe 50 stayed to the end. To make the final turn in, I went into the lab Friday night and didn’t come back out till Sunday evening. It was brutal. And you know what, the later upper division courses really weren’t any easier or less demanding. Fundamentally, if you don’t innately love the material - you won’t make it.
For me my toughest class was Algorithm Analysis. It was the known upper level weed out class at the VCU CS department. I dropped out of the class 4 weeks in and retook it the next semester. That was also the same semester I began work on my Computer Engineering minor. It wasn't the hardest class that semester for two reasons. The CE class was harder and the professor for Algorithm Analysis that semester had actual industry experience. The CE professor also had over 30 years of industry experience and he made his class interesting and engaging. Professors with actual industry experience actually make college classes so much better despite the difficulty.

Thanks you this video really help out a lot ❤ because I start in fall and I didn’t take any class during my high school year just how interesting after graduating not good a math but I really want to give it a tried what should I start learning to get ready
Do you think taking Econ 1 as a freshman fall would be a bad idea. My schedule would look like Math 1a, CS10, COLWRIT R4A, and Econ 1
I can't get an internship tho because i don't have 60% of the course complete.
And my coordinator threatened me that he wouldn't allow any internships if i got bad grades.
SO yaeh, it's not the end of the world if you get good grades, except it is, for me, who's gonna end up JOBLESS because i can't get an internship! HORAAAY
I’m a senior and I still can’t get one.
@@ethicalhacker9720 sorry for the negativity, i was going trough some rough patches. But it's all right, I actually managed to get a freelancer gig and now I'm doing all right lol There's always hope! You just gotta spoil the shit out of yourself cause you're a wonderful human being and deserves the best in the world ✨✨
Cheers! And good luck in your job hunt ❤
I got 40 in a midterm and I dropped the class, in the end, any one got above 30 got a B in the course ☺️ so bad I had to take the class again
yeah it's hard to know what grade you'll really end up with, I definitely can understand why you dropped the class, I've been in similar situations before 😕
Another reason why you should learn what you love and not what gains
Yeah, thank you, I know you did this for me haha. But in order to be a PM, can I minor in CS and major in Business. Or just majoring in Business is Okay?
ahahaa just looking out for you! honestly I’ve seen people of all backgrounds as PMs. I would say that the new grad PM programs seem to either ask that you have a technical background or are completely catered to those who don’t have any sort of technical background like Facebook’s RPM program. If you enjoy CS and it fits with your schedule, I would say minor in it!
@@evelynshares Are there more PMs programs like that that I need to look out to. So I can be prepared early ha🙂
Do they even give Compiler Design any more....that course will kick your ass.
Depends on what you focus on.
I went to Georgia Tech, but you’d only take a compilers course if you choose “Systems & Architecture” as one of your concentrations.
I think at other universities like Cal State ones, a 37% on exam that the class averages 50% on is a C-.
Watching your experience i think i could do it too
YOU CAN!! ROOTING FOR YA
Struggling in discrete math and theory of computation 😢
rootin for you from afar!! 💫
I am currently in high school and I am looking to get into CS engineering..You've really done a great job explaining..
But i am not sure if I should take it coz I am no prodigy in math and dont have a great level of abstract reasoning(found out doing tests online with patterns and stuff..hehe) Hence i am not sure if I should get into this especially since i didn't take CS in high school..would you recommend taking CS considering future options as well?
Im currently earning my Bachelor of computer science at Colorado technical university
uh oh, I think I am in the sophomore phase lol. I am determined though, I am really enjoying it so far
I'm a junior doing intro cs 😭
YOU GOT THIS I BELIEVE IN YOUUU
It's all fine until you're literally hanging on by a thread of being kicked out of school for falling below a certain gpa.
thanks for this
Hello Evelyn, I need make some questions for you(sorry English)
I actually, work in TI(I'm Software Engineer at here in Brazil), but, I want do CS
I have 19 years old
I can still working(44h week) when I do CS or you think that is a problem for me?
(Again, sorry my poor English)
In college, grades are on a curve. Tests are made intentionally hard so they can determine who the top students are.
Does fund crises have any impact on eecs course at UC Berkeley?
Go Bears!!!
🐻 🥲
I went from watching a video about failing medical school to watching computer science... I need to go to sleep lmao
I don’t even know what to major in anymore bc I was looking into both those fields only to hear people say they got burnt out from it 😭
me who has little to non support system going through CS 🙃
ROOTING FOR YOU!!!
@@evelynshares THANK YOU❤❤
love that thumbnail lol you know what you are doing
I know the feeling.😢
How was CS 70?
I liked it! it's required, so really had no choice there ahaha - but better than 61c! harder than 61a and b in my opinion
@@evelynshares Thank you so much for the reply:) I will take CS70 this fall. Is that hard to get A??
CS is hard, that’s why it’s fun
❤️ Thank-you, #evelynshares. #BeenThereSis ❤️
I have a 4.0 and can't get an internship, I think I might be cooked lmao
I wish I had a curve LOL 😂 UT just takes the raw grade.
does this apply to all of the UTs?
I'm on my first year and you know what the minor subs are f*cking me up than my major subs 🙂 Sorry I just want to vent out my frustrations.
Gets Fs in classes, still gets a internship. cs is such a joke
30th March 10016 (recorded)
Them: biggest class on campus
Us: smallest class on campus
at the end of the day haha
You could make someone a nice wife.
Are you serious?? my child was 11th grade in high school last year. Yes, he is gifted. He took CS 400 senior (AI/Pattern Recognition) level in college. 2nd assignment, he did a 2000 lines phyton program for the Bayesian A/B analysis on one weekend about 23 hours. He kicked out his college senior teammate because that guy was so bad in everything. YOU GOT TO BE PASSIONATE ABOUT SOLVING MATH PROBLEMS TO ENJOY CS.
dear god
@@silvraanctuary 😂😂 my boy got rejected at Stanford and MIT tho. He ended up choosing full scholarship at UC Berkeley (EECS) over Carnegie Mellon.
