So, I’ve reserved it only for highways, and use my Altroz diesel for city drive and occasional enthusiast drives. The only issue I found with Verna is that the lumbar support in front seats is pathetic. Observed it after 5-6k kms. Nothing that a ₹1k lumbar support pillow can’t solve but Hyundai could have done it better. City, while reliable, felt a bit noisy and not so premium for premium Honda was charging. City me engine noise itna hai jitna mere grand i10 me bhi nhi aata. 2000 rpm pe hi andar noise aane lagta hai. I almost confirmed city but ambient noise ki wajah se cancel hui. Virtus uski cheap plastic and rattling noise ki wajah se and low AC cooling too. Same with Slavia. In dono ka city me mileage bhi bohot hi jyada kam hai. Overall is segment ki best gadi mere liye Hyundai Verna thi. Mai pehle bhi Hyundai chala rha hu to fit n finish as well plastic quality is top notch in Hyundai.

@@DriveShrive the model which i bought sxo had the led lights. Lower variants get projector setup. The led throw and spread is fine, i’d say intensity is low. It’s low but not in adequate, you get used to it and it’s for the better, your high beams and dippers are not as blinding and it forces you to learn how to drive at night better with road reflectors and strips. What i feel about the car as a whole is the verna has sufficient feature set and safety for novice drivers but same feature set turns into excellent grade for expert drivers because they can get the most out of same set of features/engines. On that note most NA engines also teach you how to properly build power and torque which most turbos don’t so a good NA engine might feel boring or lacking punch to someone who only drove turbos, same engine could feel sufficiently powered for someone who knows how to build power/plan overtakes. Same for head lights, i rarely ever switch to high beams. Btw i took the verna to 152 and god it felt so stable, yeah you will get some movement but cmon the car feels like it’s not even trying, completely calm

@@NavarathnaSB the honda feels a little eager in stop go traffic but it’s great on highways, the hyundai’s cvt is smoother at low speeds and the sound insulation is better. So i would say take a test drive of both vehicles, i did as well and that should give you an idea of the cabin engine and insulation and the cooled seats! That’s where you’ll have more clarity. I personally went for verna na in sxo variant with manual transmission and to me that made the most sense out of all these 4 cars (not ciaz)

I have three questions 1. VW 1.5 TSI vs Hyundai/Kia 1.5 TGDI, which one is more reliable on standalone engine basis 2. VW 1.5 DSG vs Hyundai 1.5 DCT, which overall engine transmission combination is more reliable for long term usage, say 10-13 years 3. You've had a 1.4 TGDI seltos, did you face any major/minor mechanical faults in that car? Thanks 🙏
1.5 TSI from VW grp is used not only in India but in global markets too. Even a 1.0 Tsi was used in base models of Audi's. If maintained well with regular service through authorized dealer then there won't be issues. Regarding the gearbox, again the whole problem of DSG in VW came when they paired it with diesel, with the petrol unlikely such problems will occur. I've heard Hyundai has used reverse engineering to build the DCT. So I guess the reliability part itself is self explanatory based on the fact I stated.

Just like Sony tax, Honda is charging brand tax and profiting off their reputation.
Thanks a bunch for such quality content! Keep up the good work! I just want to ask you to include after sales/service experience as well in your assessment going forward, as they play a crucial role in longevity of the car and helps the uninformed first time purchasers take the right decisions.
As much as I love my Altroz, Tata service centre guys make sure to dampen my trust in Tata. So much so that now I genuinely ask people not to buy Tata cars though they have such good cars.
What would have been honda city mileage in Bangalore it will like verna or more ? How much discount you got for verna pls share ,now for honda city it's 70000 plus offer , am checking between city and verna NA which Will be good please suggest

Which state of registration?
@@ayankachhawah6101 as a city owner , its an all rounder car .
Cons - cabin insulation
paint quality is below average
Bad tyres and alloys specs are also not good .
If u like music then u will have to spend money .
Overall if youre going to highway trips like me than all and all you will need spend 50-70 k for tyres , damping and paint protection irrespective of which ever model you're going to buy .
Pros -
Best in class service from Honda
Well behaved staffs and very helpful
Good after market support
Best NA engine and very high reving one
12-15 mileage in City and around 20 in Highways
Spares aren't expensive as VW and parts last longer almost 30k still my brakepads are the one which i got from first day . Car is well built .

Overall it appears that if fan boy feeling aside for vw group ...one may pick Verna

@@DriveShrive You mentioned about the suspension travel on Verna, Slavia & Virtus but missed about City and Ciaz's, that's why I asked

City is best, and rough and tough car.
I can confirm this is exactly true in all sense. Mai abhi is segment ki gadiya dekh rha tha to sari hi test drive li. Aapne jo bate batayi hai exactly right hai. City me engine noise itna hai jitna mere grand i10 me bhi nhi aata. 2000 rpm pe hi andar noise aane lagta hai. I almost confirmed city but ambient noise ki wajah se cancel hui. Virtus uski cheap plastic and rattling noise ki wajah se and low AC cooling too. Same with Slavia. In dono ka city me mileage bhi bohot hi jyada kam hai. Overall is segment ki best gadi mere liye Hyundai Verna thi.
Mai pehle bhi Hyundai chala rha hu to fit n finish as well plastic quality is top notch in Hyundai.
jab yehi awaaz Royal Enfield mein aati hai aur Ferrari mein ati hai toh bde uth uth kar dekhte log... agar Honda mein Vtec sporty note provide kar raha hai budget mein toh noise ban jata hai 😂😂 sae hai
Don't mind but Hyundai is a Joke infront of Honda
One thing most utuber miss is after market Brand audio system you can go with City even ifcko tokio gives insurance for after market Audio system , biggest issue in City is tyre pressure monitor warning , Noise is becuase of Vtec and City has worst damping . If someone buying city they need atleast 50k invest to make it perfect .
Install treel and get rid of city’s, virtus/Slavia lowline tpms
ppl actually don't how to turn tyre pressure warning system off.. once u fix the pressure... u hv to turn it off manually from instrument cluster
So basically verna is the iphone of sedans, does everything moderately good without being terrible at anything, looks are again, nice to some(I'm fan honestly) and some like the old designs
@@vikrant_jadoun very good in insulating the cabin! The sales of Verna are down because most people can't digest the looks
@@DriveShrive don't worry brother i drive one, and I've never been more satisfied with a vehicle as an experience before. Yes it's not the best in almost anything but as a complete package, dwag you basically have a merc at that price, I don't even have the dct turbo, the NA mannual for me feels just so right everything else feels cheap(thanks the same noise isolation)
Great ✌️ hows the headlight performance?
@@vikrant_jadoun I asked about the headlights as it's the only thing which I didn't like in it. 🙃
Honda AMAZE ?
Sir I would not say it is Vichitra segment. Its one of the best segment exist. In market like fake SUV it the only TRUE segment with best drive quality and performance.
Vichitra means alag. Because of market movement, ye sideline hogya hai and yes, it is a true segment unlike crossovers
Hi please suggest between Honda city and Verna NA 70% in city drive 30% in highway
@@NavarathnaSB the honda feels a little eager in stop go traffic but it’s great on highways, the hyundai’s cvt is smoother at low speeds and the sound insulation is better. Anyway the decider for me was the cooled seats and the cabin experience, which hyundai almost makes you feel like you are sitting in something that’s a segment above. So i would say take a test drive of both vehicles, i did as well and that should give you an idea of the cabin engine and insulation and the cooled seats! That’s where you’ll have more clarity. I personally went for verna na in sxo variant with manual transmission and to me that made the most sense out of all these 4 cars (not ciaz)
while goin for NA.. y see anything other than Honda... as its baap of making NA engines throughout da world.. in their segment and if u goin for manual then.. Honda also makes segment best gear shifters.. don't mind but Korean Hyundai is toyish infront of legendary japnese Honda .. I'm owner of 2 Hyundais, Toyota and a Honda... seats r also best in segment.. u feel sitting in a sports car
@@DriverX-JDM driving a car is an experience and while the engine could be "baap" as you like to call it, the cabin is not insulated enough, the tyres are skinny, the display is ancient, music system is okayish at best, there is no ventilation.and it was the only car that midly sceapped unladen from a bump near my place where all others laden did not. I'm not married to hyundai and Honda we habe both and I've test drived all 4 cars. honda city doesn't make sense if you look at it as complete package, it's a good car for a lot of people but it's lacking in creature comfort features. And even though Honda's service network is fine the service it self is lower than hyundai which is lower than maruti and Toyota. As of suspension it's felt too soft during the test ride so much so I'd probably not drive it as fast as any other three, verna is second softest in the segment so it's not too far behind from the city. Yes you'll find it nice to drive but you'll reach every where with a sweaty back. You shouldn't be married to a car brand to turn a blind eye on things you'd use on daily basis and only focus on 1 2 aspects of a vehicle.

You forgot Toyota Yaris in the same segment as city et al.

Discontinued long ago! 🤦🏻♂️
I have three questions
1. VW 1.5 TSI vs Hyundai/Kia 1.5 TGDI, which one is more reliable on standalone engine basis
2. VW 1.5 DSG vs Hyundai 1.5 DCT, which overall engine transmission combination is more reliable for long term usage, say 10-13 years
3. You've had a 1.4 TGDI seltos, did you face any major/minor mechanical faults in that car?
Thanks 🙏
@@pakkkorobb 1. Same
2. Same
3. No
1.5 TSI from VW grp is used not only in India but in global markets too.
