      Love the green, gold cabinets and bathroom tile. Wonder about the stained concrete upkeep. Kudos for even attempting this one. Sad it went unoccupied so long. Glad you were able to bring it back to life. I hope the new owners put some money and effort into the basement to really make it livable. Rare to have a walkout in Detroit. TFS 😊

    I would have thought gold cabinets would be too much, but the color and the way that kitchen is done, they knocked it out of the park. The bathroom is really nice too. I'd def live in that house. I can't believe what they were able to do.

    Always amazing and creative!
    I wish the wall treatment in the basement had been reserved for just an accent wall. I see spiders hiding and living between and behind the slats!
    Also, it seems there was a missed opportunity to do a wee bit of landscaping and touching up the exterior at the back of the house.

    • @0SilentStone0
      @0SilentStone0 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I agree re the walls in the basement. But for the landscaping, I think they actually had to skip it. They were already overbudget because of the extensive water damage and high initial cost of the house

  • @b_uppy
    @b_uppy ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The living room is their best ever. The upstairs bath is fabulous as well.
    Like the gold kitchen cabinets. Would have mounted the cabinets higher and skipped the soffit. Have a 4" deep shelf wrap around beneath, instead. This would increase storage while also making the room look bigger. The bar should have been a little deeper. Would have extended the stripe pattern to around or even onto the door (Use paint if the budget was too constricted for tile).
    The downstairs is meh. Kelly green has a lot more yellow, no black.
    Hopefully they paid a lot less than the $29 thou asking price.
    Naked shoulder self portrait was odd.

    Great restoration! Is there a bathroom in the short-term rental in the basement? If so…it would have been nice to see it. If not, add one and get a weed wacker to go with the house. The new buyer will need it for the weeds growing between the house and concrete walkway. Sorry but you have a caddy old queen making these comments!

    Don't like the wood strips on the walls in the basement, and am really disappointed they painted the stunning stone fireplace down there too. Love the bathroom upstairs. I usually hate subway tile, but with the penny tile accent, it looks better. Just personal preferences. Maybe I missed it, but was there a bathroom in the basement for their short-term renters?

    • @Stressless2023

      I hate subway tile too and can't stand when it gets incorporated into kitchen/bathroom designs. And they only showed the main living space in the basement but I imagine there had to be a bathroom down there since he called it the "short term rental space" at the end. Painting over that sandstone fireplace was definitely tacky too.
