Toms toothpaste is not as natural as most people think. In fact, it's owned by Colgate. Toms toothpaste contains aluminum, zinc chloride, titanium dioxide, SLS, etc. You should try David's toothpaste. That way you're using something that is much more natural and also supporting a great business. Also, they list all their ingredients on their website and the purpose for each ingredient :)

have you found David's instore? I'm super curious to try it, but after shipping it's a little pricy! Thanks for the rec!

Yes! I add a couple of drops of cinnamon bark and clove essential oils for taste. I don't have the time to do it every day but when I do, I definitely feel the difference.

I love this! I use young living products like their toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash! All of their products are nontoxic and can be used for so many different ways! I love Dr. Bronner's unscented castile soap. I use my essential oils in my soap and switch it up every once in a while!

I would love to see a washroom tour. I constantly search videos of minimalist/decluttered washrooms .. I’ve been on a decluttering journey and trying to use up lotions and body products and it makes me so happy to see decluttered washrooms with products people consider their must have/essential products

Once you start researching what’s in makeup, you’ll freak! tons of chemicals and mostly “shelf-life” ingredients that’ll damage your skin and age you way quicker. If you’re looking to make a switch, but not a complete one, start with changing your base (foundation/concealer/powder/blush): 100% Pure and FitGlowBeauty are my favorite natural makeup brands I’ve tried so far.

It's great to see more people are thinking about what they're putting into and onto their bodies here on YT! I love Nature's Answer PerioBrite mouthwash. I'm not a big fan of mint (they have two mint varieties if you are) so I use the Cinnamint. It tastes great and you can get it from Vitacost and Wholefoods. I was not a fan of the PerioBrite toothpaste but the mouthwash is amazing and leaves my breath and teeth feeling clean and refreshed. Natural deodorant is probably the most difficult product to replace. I tried a lot of c-f natural brands and either they don't work, give me a rash or they made me feel wet/sweat more (ah hem - I'm talking about Lavanilla on the last one). I now use a crystal stone or the Crystal spray deodorant. I have to wash my pits twice a day which is inconvenient but I'm willing to do it to keep fresh. Schmidt's was recent sold (angry face) to Unilever so I won't buy theirs anymore but they have some new varieties in pots that are pretty good. Good luck with your journey to clean beauty. It's hard in the beginning but it get easier I promise!

Great video! I've recently started transitioning to natural products myself and using essential oils. I really enjoy using DoTerra's clove essential oil on my toothpaste. I use the tiniest drop, it keeps my breath really fresh and my teeth feel extremely clean. I also floss and use a waterpic prior. After I'm done brushing I don't feel the need to use an additional mouth wash.

OMG I LOVE SCHMIDT'S! I'm currently using the Lavender & Sage one but when I run out I'm switching to the sensitive version of the scent which is Lavender Tips. It works better than any deodorant OR antiperspirant I've ever used, the latter of which really surprised me. And for those of you trying to go for zero waste, they also come in glass jars if you're okay with scooping it out and applying it with your fingers (I still use the stick one...).

I switched a lot of my household items to essential oil based products. I like the Young Living Thieves product line. Their warning label says “if swallowed drinks lots of water” that’s it. So I feel comfortable when kids visit or having it around pets. They have cleaners, detergents and they have a great toothpaste and mouthwash. My dentist recommends it and carries it in their office. I love Schmidt’s Bergamot and Lime!

100% pure is an incredible brand - it's definitely a bit more pricey, but it does not disappoint and the products last a long time because a little goes a long way. Definitely check them out!
Also, Leahlani is a company based on Kuaui and the products are gorgeous. The range is super small, but their masks are TO DIE FOR.
Acure is great as well - and affordable! I don't like their masks too much, but their brightening face scrub is a holy grail. Their moisturizing shampoo and conditioner are miracle workers. Their cleansers have been great as well!
I'm so excited that you're diving into natural beauty! I started making the switch 5 years ago and slowly (as to not be wasteful and to be more economic) I replaced products with natural options. I hope you continue to search for different brands than what you see in stores because for the most part, the really great quality products are from small companies. That's the most beautiful thing about the natural beauty community is you can really get away from feeding into huge corporations and support entrepreneurs!

Dear Allison! Some recommendations from this side of the globe: Instead of body cream, use natural oils. Almond, jojoba e. g. Weleda has some great options! And for me the best natural deodorant is just coconut oil, baking powder and baking soda. I never believed it, but it works better than the very harsh chemicals!

You should make your own tooth powder instead of buying toothpaste! I started doing it years ago now, and my husband and I love it. I found a recipe online... it's mostly bentonite clay, some activated charcoal, some baking soda, a pinch of sea salt, and organic peppermint essential oil. It's also so travel friendly because it doesn't count as a liquid! You should try it! My dentist has asked what I use because she says my teeth are in great shape and so white (an awesome effect of the charcoal).

@@drbantayan Awesome! Thank you so much for the feedback. I went to Target and they didn't have it in the store so I have to order it from the Target app.

Yay for going more green! Ok, two products to try that I highly recommend: David’s toothpaste and Dr Brite mouthwash. The BEST!

I could talk about natural beauty and home products all day! I love Uncle Harry's Flouride Free Toothpaste, get it on Amazon. It's strong, but no other toothpaste makes my mouth still feel clean in the morning. Other favorites of mine are Dr. Bronner's peppermint toothpaste and Lavender Coconut Hand and Body lotion, Pacifica face washes and Native deodorant. Tea tree oil is my go-to spot treatment.

I love LaVanila deodorants! They are baking soda free, like the Schmidt's sensitive but they also have a probiotic in them which helps with irritation and balancing the bacteria since underarms can be prone to yeast infections. I just saw the Acure products at Target today and was curious about them, glad to know they are worth a try!

Soap nuts will change your life too! I just switched to them for laundry and made a cleaner from them too just by boiling a few! And you can compost them!

I use the Thieves Mouthwash from Young Living. It's great and has a lot of added benefits. I love the Lavanilla Sport Deodorant, the regular didn't work as well as the sport version does. I'm a huge essential oils fan. I switched to Doterra this year from Young Living and they have a whole skin care line that is amazing.

I absolutely appreciate you talking about the research you read and linking it below. No one does this on TH-cam so thank you! I use the Acure brand facial cleansing gel and a little goes a long way it's lovely!

The Body Deli and Farmaesthetics have the best all natural skin care lines that I have found.

I just made the switch to natural deodorant about a month ago and I'm so glad I did! If I had known about the stinky detox phase I probably would have done it sooner; I had gone back to aluminium deodorant before thinking natural just didn't work for me! :) Now I'm working on phasing out my skincare products for natural/better options. Thanks for the video!!

great video, so nice to see TH-camrs making the switch and talking about more natural, healthy products. I'm wondering if you have tried any more natural skincare products for the face? I would love to hear your thoughts on that if you have.

Here in Ireland there is not a huge selection to choose from. However I love the DR. Oganics tea tree face wash and their Manuka honey face scrub.

Loved this video so helpful! A vegan/natural chapstick that is great is Hurraw! They’re also cruelty free and have great scents/flavors! My favorite is the vanilla bean! A great natural mascara is from 100% pure. I have the brown one it smells like chocolate and is so good! Hands down the best natural mascara I’ve tried so far! I’m trying to go all cruelty free for my makeup/skincare so this video was very helpful! I’d love to see videos where you use natural makeup! It’s so hard to find products that work!
