Allison does a really, really good job of presenting her topic. No fluff and no distractions! Well done.
Instead of trimming your post-its for labelling, I recommend getting some washi tapes. You can easily peel off the tape when needed!
Love the glow tape and battery charger tips!
this post-it label idea is GLORIOUS. Definetly going to be using this:)
Thanks for sharing! That glow-in-the-dark tape idea is a game-changer.
I am still learning wildlife photography and filming for YT, but man, that charger port looks like something I will need in the future. So cool!
I am in a bit of trouble... I will give away a lot... So Please help as much as you can... Please help me from the bottom of my heart

Love the 'Glow Tape' idea (will steal that) ! L plates every time over the plethora of new Rotating Camera Mounts, I buy one for every camera and it never comes off.
Best accessory I bought last year? Feelworld LCD monitor (attach it to any camera hot shoe or clip it onto the tripod leg), it makes composition and checking your shots soooo much easier than any camera LCD or trying to get my eye down to the EVF.
Using two systems (Sony and Olympus) I like accessories that are not brand specific - so the Godox flashes with an XPro controller (Sony or Oly) means I can use the same flashes on both systems.
I always take a powerbank with me (10,000 Mzh for locally and 23,000Mzh for a full day or longer) - to recharge phones and drone batteries & controller, etc. etc.
Love all the tips!! I think I'll def try the glow-in-the-dark tape first 😄
th-cam.com/video/U485XitSeFI/w-d-xo.html
what i like to use on my camera is the 3 legged thing "L" bracket with peak design mount. give protection to my camera and i can setup on my tripod portrait mode easy
That’s a great idea glow-in-the-dark tape
I wasn't sure I needed the Peak Design tech pouch before I got it...and then I promptly filled it up. That thing is awesome!
I really liked your video 📹 !! I'm relatively new to photography. I picked up several good tips!!! 🤓🤓
Loved this! Such a fun video!
Love all the tips
Great video. These are great products especially the charger.
This is SO Helpful!!!
Thanks allie . For this video
thank you for this video. Really usefull
Some good stuff to have! Thanks for your thoughts!
Nice took 🎉🎉
Awesome. Thank you.
Love it 😀
Nice, ive taken ur advice in the past
Love watching your videos!
Was wondering (maybe you've already talked about this?) what software you use to edit your videos?
Xx
that glow-in-the-dark tape is a very smart idea, I can't tell you how many lens caps I lost because I dropped them in the dark and can't even find them with a flashlight. That will be used up in no time for all my caps and on my tripod legs.
th-cam.com/video/U485XitSeFI/w-d-xo.html
Yup, Glow-in-the-dark tape/rope is a Astro secret/hack. Put it on your camera bag, as well (for this use the rope, usually on the top handle, adds extra "grip" too).
I didn't even know glow-in-the-dark rope was a thing, that's such a good idea! Thanks!
Allison, my tripod is glowing with pride to be honored with its image at the earth pyramids.
Great video, thanks for sharing! Now, I NEED glow in the dark tape…
Re: the rotatable bracket. Have you used "L" brackets (e.g. ReallyRightStuff). Not as quick as the rotating bit, but a LOT less bulky. And you don't have to mess with your ball head's position.
A couple of years ago it occurred to me that if I'm taking smaller and lighter gear when I travel and that's good enough for my travel photos, then it should be good enough when I'm home. So, this year I'm selling my full size cameras. My main cameras will be the A7CR and A7CII. I don't mind the single card slot. The screen and viewfinder could be better but they're not bad. And the grip could be larger, but a hand strap solves that problem. I would like to be able to use an L-plate, but it blocks the doors on the left side. Since I can't use an L-plate, I use a PD plate which is small and light. I'll just have to tilt the camera over when using some lenses with the camera vertical. And I use lighter Sony GM primes like the 50mm 1.4 GM and the soon to come 85mm GM II. Lovin the downsizing.
I love reading all the comments about people taking ‘smaller’ cameras like the a6700 etc. My first proper camera was the RX100vii which is TINY. My 6700 actually feels huge in comparison and I feel like not taking it travelling as it’s too big.
@@jeannedarc1566 I also have an a6600 which I like to use with the tiny Sony 24mm G and 50mm G lenses. And I have an RX100vii which is my pocket camera.
You can definitely find an L plate that won't cover the battery doors. I shoot Sony and Olympus (now OMS) and if saving size, weight and money with next to no compromises (and a lot of benefits) then take a look at the OM1 and the superb Olympus or Pana-Leica lenses. Even their f1.2 lenses are smaller and lighter (but of course still let in more light, though compromises DoF, which could be a positive or a negative depending on case use) that said the f1.4, f2.0 or f2.8 are mostly good enough for what I shoot.
@allisonanderson I probably watched 90% of your videos, My request to make a vlog about Seychelles country. Your videography is incredible. You can make a great vlog there.
I am from Bangladesh and watch always your video❤
👍👍👍❤ Love From India ❤
I attached a camera strap to a Manfrotto quick release base plate.
Instant quick release strap system with no dangly bits.
Also keeps the strap out of the way of tilting screens. I'm a convert to the strap for steadying hand held video,
What do you use to backup your cards? Sometimes when I travel I don't want to take my laptop or iPad. Is there an alternative?
Love 😍 you ❤
Really Right Stuff L plates are less bulky for vertical shots 😃
I'll take a look at them, thanks!
the Small Rig L bracket is great and a better value than RRS but they are not on their website for some reason but at my local camera store or Amazon they are .@@allisonanderson
L brackets are less bulky, but you will reframe the shot slightly when vertical as the sensor centre will move upwards.
I agree on L brackets since recomposing is almost the same, though there is a slight vertical shift as noted. Takes up far less space in your bag. On my Canon R6, I decided to use a half rig from Small Rig and am soooooo happy with it! Even L brackets with a notch in the side plate would interfere with my articulating LCD screen, and block most of my side ports. The half rig doesn’t block any of that since it is shifted forward along the side. To enable portrait shooting like an L bracket would, I’ve attached the tripod plate from my 3 Legged Thing since it’s super small (1.5” square). While this does block my mic and headphones port, I never use those and all other port doors can open. Absolutely love it!
I saw your post and had I look on Amazon as I have a canon camera meny
Thanks
Hi. I use dji osmo action camera for shooting travel videos. Problem is the battery drains real fast & I've to, say, change batteries every hour or hour and a half or so. I've to carry a pack of 3 or 4 extra batteries, fully charged. I shoot it in 1080P/24 format. Can you please suggest anything to get maximum out of the batteries? Thanks
❤❤❤
Awesome ideas! Thanks!
What your recording video, what kind of mic do you use for audio?
Mam big fam of you plzz plzz reply ❤❤
Camera Accessory number 11 - A Nikon Z8 - Their memory cards are 4 times the speed and they have a sensor shield when you are changing lenses
thanks for sharing!
What do you use as your last step to backup photos? Once youre done editing off of SSD drives, where do the photos live?
Right now, large capacity external hard drives that are duplicated multiple times to prevent data loss if a drive fails. I'm debating getting a NAS but not sure if it's exactly what I need. A good long-term storage workflow has been one of the trickiest things for me to figure out. If anyone has recommendations let me know!
I definitely recommend a multiple backup system, with storage in separate locations. A professional music friend had his music files backed up, but stored near his laptop. He had a break-in and his laptop AND external hard drives were stolen. He lost his recently completed project. @@allisonanderson
Gotcha. Right now, my photos live on my memory card and an SSD drive. I need to wipe my memory card, but I'm scared to have my pics live on just 1 SSD and was wondering what your current workflow was!
@@allisonanderson I spent my career working with computers, computer users, and networks. Photography has been a lifelong hobby. So, I've always used some form of backup for my photographs. When I travel, each night I upload that days files to external redundant Samsung SSD drives like you use. The laptop I use for travel is small and light and has a small SSD internal drive. When I return home I copy the photos from the SSD drives to a dedicated internal hard drive in my desktop computer. I'll replace the int hard with an SSD soon. All of those files are also copied onto a Synology NAS with mirrored drives. I feel comfortable with that much redundancy. If I was a professional photographer, I would also have files stored offsite. But, I'm not a big fan of cloud storage. I like having control of my files, not anyone else. Is there some reason you don't use a Labelmaker?
Super nice NICE
Hi from Morocco
Do you also have online classes available on Udamy ?
Do you have a link for the portable Ssd? There’s a few different Samsung options. I have Seagate ones but looking to diversify
I get mine at Walmart

- L brackets are smaller to recompose between portrait and landscape
- les cleaning kit for sure
- I use small usb charging hub for my camera batteries
And constantly laughing on MILC and dust on sensor situation. 5+ years with my D850, and I never needed to clean my sensor
I use sticky notes on my SD cards to label them! :)
Dust magnet! Sensor cleaning kit - every photographer's lifesaver.
Re the glow in the dark tape - I like the idea of being able to see my tripod legs in the dark, but I'm not keen on the uncontrollable light that could get in my (and other's) astrophotos.
Maybe battery powered red light strips might be more practical because of the ability to turn them off when not needed.
All of my bags have a very small, minimal first aid kit consisting of two or three bandaids, a few alcohol pads, a small tube of Neosporin antibiotic ointment and tweezers. It seems I never need these items if I have them with me, if I don’t however…
Would recommend an L-Bracket instead of the swivel thing. it protects the camera and don't make it much bigger 😀
The Bronine battery charger is swell.
😮
Wow
You are intelligent 😊
Can u do a video on georgia
Hi❤🎉
Glow in the drark… 🤔 never seem that before
I like the post it label idea ! You carry a hand blower to dust off your Sensor???! Here's something....The very last thing I do to Any Electronics, is use anything like dust off air canisters, hand blowers etc. You're sending the problem the wrong way ! There are accessories for vacuum cleaner hoses small. I will vacuum my computer key board, my camera etc. Not Force the dust INTO it, but out of it, Clean front and rear of lenses, before going out. In dusty areas, two cameras, one wide angle one telephoto...never removing either. A Polarizer The day you walk into a museum and see the glass reflection on everything, you'll never walk far with out it on you again!
Are you not travelling nowadays. Waiting for your travel vlogs.

get rid of those 160gig sony cards and buy 1tb cards for cf express type A for $500 ....yes its 200 more bucks but way more storage and i dont need as many cards in my bags
I feel stupid now for never thinking of using glow in the dark tape.
Please don't clean your sensor out in the open air.
Always carry a blower, if you really have to clean your sensor, protect it against the wind and face the sensor downwards, so dust has a harder way getting on it.
Where you from
Such a great vid Alison cat hair not included in this comment
😂👏 thank you!
First comment 🫶✨i am from Bangladesh
Really Right Stuff L Brackets
Your cards cost more than my camera gear 😂
I need your help
My Samsung T7 started having issues three weeks after I bought it, making it totally unreliable. Not impressed, and I'm pissed because everyone I know uses them and LOVES them.
Noooo that's a bummer. Yeah I own probably a dozen Samsung drives and have never had a single issue. Did you reach out to Samsung about it? I wonder if there is a warranty they would replace it under.
Please travel to North of the Iran 🇮🇷 ❤
You're in need of a NAS (Instead of all this drives)
