Elle Elle there’s a RMS signature set that includes the luminizer, some bronzer, lip balm, and cheek/eye product in one palette. Everything about RMS’ product is so multi-purposeful so you can use it as radiance or eyeshadow. It takes a little to look like a lot so it lasts very long. If you want to test the waters of RMS, I really recommend that mixed palette.

The same occurs in fashion where ethical/sustainable clothing costs more than fast fashion. Hopefully you can find some articles online with suggestions! 👍 x
Kate Liu try the app Etsy! There’s a thousand clean makeup products that are inexpensive, because they make everything personally. My favorite is “rainwater botanicals”’s cream blush in plum, but seller “dabherbmakeup” also has great stuff.

Honestly, this channel is so helpful for all of the makeup minimalists out there. I, for one, am not a fan of the full glam looks that are sported by a lot of big youtubers. It's so nice to see a beauty youtuber who also has similar preferences to me in terms of makeup looks. Matildaaaaaa im SO in love with the whole Kjaer weis line....the foundation they have might be one of my ALL time favorites after trying many of the higher end ones like The Foundation from Cle de peau, Chanel, georgio armani, hourglass, tom ford, etc. I know you don't wear foundation and is more of a tinted moisturizer girl, but the Kjaer weis foundation definition does not wear like a foundation and more like a very sheer but dewy coverage of the skin...just something about it makes me gush every time I use it for a natural look. Their cream blushes are supremely natural, soft, creamy, and easy to sheer out. Their lip tints I also really love for a wash of color, I use their Sensuous Plum and Lover's Choice. Their lip gloss is ALSO bomb, VERY interesting texture that is not sticky at all but adds a very plumping glossy look without the tingling of plumping lip products. They now have both a cream and a powder bronzer, but i haven't tried either one so I cannot attest to them. You just have to dig a little deeper. I don't know about their international shipping policies but Han Cosmetics is AMAZING and makes the best lip and cheek stick and lip gloss formulas that I've ever tried. Hands down. I also love Clove and Hallow, Lily Lolo, and Honest Beauty, which are all more affordable options. Hope this helps!

The production costs for clean beauty are usually much higher which unfortunately raises prices. Natural ingredients (often locally and/or ethically sourced), smaller production processes and sustainable packaging are a few of the factors that can contribute to that. (Same issue in other industries like fashion, where quality fibres and ethically made garments cost more than fast fashion). It will probably take new brands emerging (like Everlane in fashion) to change up the usual costing, but I really hope clean beauty can become more accessible in future! 👍 x
I know that a lot of people don't want to spend too much on make up, but personally i love to save my money for clean beauty products so they are even more special to me :) also i think more about which products i really need/want and don't buy things i'll only use once or twice

I personally don't follow expiry dates, I just prioritise cleanliness - only applying makeup with clean hands, never sharing with anyone else, always putting lids straight back on etc. I store products in a cool, dark place, and must admit I haven't had many 'go off' at all. I've had some of my cream products for years, far longer than suggested! But if it still looks / smells / performs the same, I keep it 👍 Just what works for me x

Interestingly bareMinerals doesn’t have the ‘clean’ green tick on Sephora! I know they certainly use a lot of mineral ingredients but perhaps they’re not entirely ‘clean’..? It’s part of the problem with not having any definitions in this area, so it’s open to interpretation by each brand! I’ve heard great things about their tinted moisturiser 👏🏼 x

I’m here and I love the video already! Your videos are exactly what the doctor ordered. I love discovering new brands when you introduce them in videos. Some of them are so alternative or out of my sphere that it’s a real treat. I’ve heard of the usual makeup culprits, but you introduce new and interesting brands that I personally have never heard of, and I love that. Unfortunately, I don’t have a ton of money lying around to buy the items I really want, like RMS products or Jillian Dempsey kid tints, etc. however, little by little, I’m starting to save up for some of the products you sing praises about. I bought Necessaire body wash in Sandalwood and body lotion and loved it! Thanks for your videos and your creativity! You must really love what you do :-)

tbh i don't see the point of "skin tints"- i mean, it's expensive and it's sheer- which may be what people want, but personally i am also a fan of natural makeup, and instead i use a full-coverage foundation with some face oil, and it works perfectly. and when i'm going out or something, then i just don't add the oil. idk, just my little rant.
Each to their own! I sometimes get comments along these lines. I guess I always think 'sheer' or 'minimal' makeup shouldn't be seen as less valuable just because it's not high coverage, because it's always about what outcome that particular person wants to achieve. Luckily there are plenty of products on the market to work for everyone's style! ☺️👍 x

Has anyone here tried both the RMS lipsticks and the Kosas? They both have a great red brown shade I’m eyeing (RMS rapture and Kosas fringe). Curious if anyone has advice for me about how the formulas differ! They seem so similar that I’m tempted to chose just based on packaging.

Most conventional beauty products contain chemicals that disrupt the endocrine (hormone) system, that can lead to not only breakouts but also chronic diseases! Most people don’t pay attention to makeup products, so it’s important to aim for chemical-free, natural makeup 👊✨

Not sure about palm oil, but RMS Beauty, Ilia, Tata Harper and Kjaer Weis are all considered 'zero waste' brands because they use recycled materials (i.e. glass, aluminium) to make their packaging. I've been meaning to do a 'zero waste' video for a long time, I'll get there one day! 👍 x

Thank you Cat! I missed that article, but I can certainly understand the issue and it's something I've thought about before. The production costs for clean beauty are usually much higher which unfortunately raises prices. Natural ingredients (often locally and/or ethically sourced), smaller production processes and sustainable packaging are a few of the factors that can contribute to that. (Same issue in other industries like fashion, where quality fibres and ethically made garments cost more than fast fashion). It will probably take new brands emerging (like Everlane in fashion) to change up the usual costing, but I really hope clean beauty can become more accessible in future! 👍 x
I know that a lot of people don't want to spend too much on make up, but personally i love to save my money for clean beauty products so they are even more special to me :) also i think more about which products i really need/want and don't buy things i'll only use once or twice

Do you replenish your cream products often? Because mine seem to go bad after a year, so I avoid cream products unless I know I can finish them, How do you store them? Great video btw

I personally don't follow expiry dates, I just prioritise cleanliness - only applying makeup with clean hands, never sharing with anyone else, always putting lids straight back on etc. I store products in a cool, dark place, and must admit I haven't had many 'go off' at all. I've had some of my cream products for years, far longer than suggested! But if it still looks / smells / performs the same, I keep it 👍 Just what works for me x
You should try han cosmetics lip anc cheek stick or the vapour beauty multi stick

matilda, have you tried other american brands like tarte and urban decay? also milk makeup is my favorite brand and i love that you also enjoy the brand, you should try their sunshine skin tint if you haven’t, an amazing finish and light coverage
Thank you Jillian, I love the look of the Sunshine Skin Tint but couldn't find a shade match last time I was in the US. I haven't tried any Tarte products but love Urban Decay shadows! Several of their palettes have been in my videos 👍☀️ x

Interestingly bareMinerals doesn’t have the ‘clean’ green tick on Sephora! I know they certainly use a lot of mineral ingredients but perhaps they’re not entirely ‘clean’..? It’s part of the problem with not having any definitions in this area, so it’s open to interpretation by each brand! I’ve heard great things about their tinted moisturiser 👏🏼 x

If you want a budget friendly eyeshadow similar to the rms singles then I really recommend the N°7 Stay Perfect eyeshadows. They have a huge colour range

Your videos are exactly what the doctor ordered. I love discovering new brands when you introduce them in videos. Some of them are so alternative or out of my sphere that it’s a real treat.
I’ve heard of the usual makeup culprits, but you introduce new and interesting brands that I personally have never heard of, and I love that. Unfortunately, I don’t have a ton of money lying around to buy the items I really want, like RMS products or Jillian Dempsey kid tints, etc. however, little by little, I’m starting to save up for some of the products you sing praises about.
I bought Necessaire body wash in Sandalwood and body lotion and loved it! Thanks for your videos and your creativity!

tbh i don't see the point of "skin tints"- i mean, it's expensive and it's sheer- which may be what people want, but personally i am also a fan of natural makeup, and instead i use a full-coverage foundation with some face oil, and it works perfectly. and when i'm going out or something, then i just don't add the oil. idk, just my little rant.
Some people just like one and done products I guess. Its the same thing with blotted/sheer lipsticks.
Each to their own! I sometimes get comments along these lines. I guess I always think 'sheer' or 'minimal' makeup shouldn't be seen as less valuable just because it's not high coverage, because it's always about what outcome that particular person wants to achieve. Luckily there are plenty of products on the market to work for everyone's style! ☺️👍 x
Clean beauty made or may not be cruelty-free. That's more important to me than clean. Although I do prefer clean makeup, especially lip products. Have you tried Axiology multi-use blames?

Has anyone here tried both the RMS lipsticks and the Kosas? They both have a great red brown shade I’m eyeing (RMS rapture and Kosas fringe).
Curious if anyone has advice for me about how the formulas differ!
They seem so similar that I’m tempted to chose just based on packaging.
I have, and I use both of those shades! 😄👋 Both lovely formulas, but RMS is probably more pigmented and I find Kosas slightly creamier x

Love this! Natural makeup is so important. Most conventional beauty products contain chemicals that disrupt the endocrine (hormone) system, that can lead to not only breakouts but also chronic diseases! Most people don’t pay attention to makeup products, so it’s important to aim for chemical-free, natural makeup 👊✨

😂 I’ve been trying to find environmentally friendly alternatives for makeup all week, this video is a welcome surprise - wonder if you know of any brands or products without plastic packaging or palm oil?
Not sure about palm oil, but RMS Beauty, Ilia, Tata Harper and Kjaer Weis are all considered 'zero waste' brands because they use recycled materials (i.e. glass, aluminium) to make their packaging. I've been meaning to do a 'zero waste' video for a long time, I'll get there one day! 👍 x
