    One thing concerns me the US manufacturing base is not what it used to be. Senator Vance is right. Look at the Covid pandemic, the US had to import masks and respirator from China. As for Nato Senator Vance never said to weaken NATO but for Euro Nato to take a stronger role. Thank you Senator JD Vance for representing Ohio and USA honorably 🇺🇸

      That is what the West did after the war in Georgia. This is what the West did after the first invasion of Donbas and Crimea (and the list goes on). If you take away one lesson from the Second World War: Don't negotiate with brutal dictators. Putin has clearly stated his goals and he does not want peace unless it is to his favored terms. He will also not stop after Ukraine. So stop him now and do us all a favor.

    Does anyone believe in optics anymore? When you’ve got a representative for your country looking like they didn’t skip the buffet and probably hasn’t taken the stairs in a few decades, what impression does that give an international audience? Male or female, black or white, you are a public figure, you have a responsibility to your country to look strong.

    Vance's point that US can't match Russian weaponry should be a call to step up US weapons production. Not a call for US withdrawal.

    • @yanik3825
      @yanik3825 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Vance is merely pointing out that the US doesn’t have enough manufacturing bandwidth to support its own foreign goals and that of Ukraines armed forces.
      The US is ramping up it’s manufacturing capabilities but as it was pointed out it’ll take a lot of time to get to a point where it would have a meaningful impact on the battlefield for Ukraine.
      And unfortunately time is on Russias side as they can field about 5 men for every man that Ukraine can field in its army. The manpower deficit combined with the lack of war material is a pretty significant indicator that the war is not going in our favour and it’ll only continue to get worse.
      So peace is really what we should aim for here.
      And I am personally glad to hear the words peace treaty from a US Senator (& now VP candidate) of all people.

    The founding of NATO made sense for the USA after the Second World War to push back the dominance of the Soviet Union as the strongest power in Eurasia. But now, 35 years after the Cold War, Russia simply does not have the capacity and political influence to dominate Europe like the Soviet Union did. In addition, Europe is becoming significantly less important in relation to other parts of the world. It follows that, considering the national interests of the USA, it makes no sense to continue NATO.
