As a baker and someone who has perfected my fudgey brownie recepie, the one this woman gave you was incredibly uneccessary. There is absolutely no point in having both melted butter and oil as the butter already provides the combining agent, moisture and richness as well as better flavour and desired leavening. The whole point of using brown sugar is that it creates the fudge texture when its melted due to the molasses...she just disolved it to hell with the eggs, completely defeating its purpose. And she was wrong about the crust, the eggs are what causes that. You will always get that as long as you have egg whites and sugar in there. The cornstarch in the powdered sugar and the powdered milk would just dry it up more (also adding more sweetness + grit) and had to offset it with less flour making you get extra ingredients for a worse result. Adding the powdered milk for a richer flavour is fine in the proper ratios, but not necessary if you properly browned the butter and cocoa mix and added vanilla and salt....which she didn't????? What you ate was an oily brownie with melted chocolate..you could have made an actual fudgey brownie batter in 15 minutes and with half the ingredients....Tiktok baking makes me want to scream bro.

When you cook mushrooms, you shouldn't start off with oil. Mushrooms are full of moisture, so letting them sweat off in a dry pan first is the best way to get some colour on them, and once they start looking drier, that's when you add some fat for them to soak up, preferably butter
