- I thought I'd make a video going through each panel of the model 3 for anyone else thinking about DIY wrapping it. Pretty self explanatory. I'd say watch this before you decide to tackle it yourself, or if you're on the fence about paying someone to wrap your model 3.

No. Like everything you are saying...is happening. Mirrors had to retry like 6 times then I just knifeless taped over the seam and use 2 pieces (was in a CK Wraps video).
I haven't even got to the front bumper and I know how much it is about to suck wrapping myself.
I'm running out of vinyl, should have gotten 75 ft. Ordered 15ft more on top of 50ft I got. Messed up the trunk over the hump and did a 2nd-piece, whatever f-up but ok.

You should not leave tour tools on the ground! Only thing that can be set on the ground is your heat gun. You WILL cause scratching. Mark my words. Especially with the magnetic wrap tools. Small pieces of metal will stick to magnet and when you stick your tools to the panel they will be abrasive. Kick ass job though! 🖖🏼
totally true. I just had them piled up on the ground for the video.
Looks like I'll have to re-wrap it, car just got in an accident so the body shop had to peel it all off. Bummer.

Hey Neon. Your M3 looks awesome dude~~!! I am also planning to DIY my M3. How did you go about the distance sensors on front/rear bumpers? Fid you just wrap them over and have no problem bubbling or sensors having any problem after the wrap? Thanks a bunch!!!
Thanks! I did just wrap over them, haven't had any problems so far. Only thing I noticed is in cold snowy climates the little indents will get dirtier than the rest. Good luck!

yeah I've been battling the thought of selling the nsx. I drove it last night for the first time in 2 weeks. The model 3 just does everything better (Except the noise)

Do you have autopilot, if does does the wrap cause any issues? Some people have said it causes autopilot malfunctioning but I can’t get a straight answer from Tesla. I want to make sure before wrapping mine.
I do have fsd, no issues here. I've heard metallic/chrome wraps may mess up the side cameras. Mine is satin though and it still works perfectly.

Not all the way, just un bolted and slid forward

Nope, all the sensors work like usual

Pain in the ass .. each letter is a separate piece. Didn't feel like lining them up. Also the adhesive was messed up from peeling them off
how did you wrap around the rear reflectors?
those were a huge pain in the ass. I cut the vinyl around the reflector and left a lot of excess to tuck in with a heat gun, but around the sharp creases I couldn't get it to work well. I cut a thin strip of vinyl and used a tweezer to push it up/all the way around the reflector before flattening it outward with a heatgun. There are a few pieces around the reflectors, it's hard to notice.

@@neonshaun5269 Had mine over a year now with multiple road trips. Never been like "thankfully I had that extra 5%". Not really needed and man, do they look cheap!
@@johngannon yeah also they fall off in heavy rain. I need to figure out a way to jack up all 4 corners of the beast to paint the wheels underneath.

I hope no one uses this video as a reference on wrapping anything, even a Tesla. Dude instead of talking about your begginer experience wrapping, why on earth would you think your qualified to show anyone how to do something that takes tons of practice and time. Many of the things you showed me will no doubt end in vinyl failure and overall a bad wrap.
Lol what, do you run a wrap so shop? This has been wrapped for over a year now, been through several snowy winter weeks, it still looks great. Get real, this video has helped lots of people.
