- Quick video showing difference between raytracing patch visuals to pre patch in Resident Evil 3. Im using Xbox One X version to compare here which already is quite high resolution . Framerate target is still 60fps on raytracing mode but system also allows for Non RT mode at 4k 60fps
Personally, I prefer playing the RE remakes with ray tracing enabled on the Series X. Because if you use your Xbox on a modern TV which supports HDMI 2.1 & VRR, these games literally run over 60fps WITH ray tracing. Even the RE4 remake runs with more than 60fps, even if you enable all options like resolution, ray tracing & hair strains, it never falls down to 60, most of the time it lies somewhere between 70, 90, or even 100 frames. Same with the remakes of 2&3. I upgraded my TV a year ago, from HDMI 2.0 without VRR & 120hz, to a modern one which supports all that stuff. Never had I imagined that it would make such a difference. I fucking love it, because I simply love the RE remakes.
Does re3 console not have high frame rate option at all?
12TF vs 1.3.. They have a lot of work to do
Umm not really because series x uses Xbox One X version so it would be 12TF vs 6 buut I get what you are saying 😀
This is great
I don’t really think ray tracing is that impressive to justify dropping it down to 30fps when you can have a nice smooth 60fps
I agree atleast when it comes to consoles 👍 this gen consoles are just too weak to show what raytracing can be.. maybe next gen 😀
Ray tracing is real, more than you Illuminati
RE2/3 definitely is capable of running 60fps with raytracing on XSX or PS5, since currently the game already runs at roughly 45FPS. The problem is that unlike some other games that have 60FPS RT, RE2/3 is simply trying to push for a native 4K image when they can instead use different smart upscaling techniques to hit 60FPS at a small cost to image quality of resolution (due to diminishing returns). Reminds me of games like Division 2 where developers try to keep pushing for “Native 4K” while sacrificing more noticeable things such as graphical quality(shadows, textures, reflections etc) or consistent framerate.
@@kohkisparten117 well yea but this games raytracing implementation barely even makes it look better . I would recommend just sticking to non raytracing mode and get stable 40k60
@@KimTe63 shadows and lightning wise, the RE engine has been pretty good at rendering without RT, but the Screen space reflections in these games have been really bad with severe breakup and RT does a huge improvement to them. Plus, this mode feels dumb to begin with. Why put in an “RT unstable” mode in the game in the first place when it really isn’t enjoyable for people who prefer fidelity or framerate? It would make sense if they put an “RT 4K 30” mode, and “Performance RT” mode instead. Maybe another thing they could do is remove the shadow/lighting RT and only keep the reflection RT, to try and hit 60FPS. I agree that right now, the best option is either the 120fps mode if your display supports it, or 60fps no RT mode currently since the RT mode isn’t that great. But that doesn’t mean the developer should get a free pass in implementing a unstable RT mode when there are other options to make RT enjoyable for other users, especially since it seems like the “no RT 60fps” mode actually has a lot of headroom considering the 120fps mode is just that with the cap removed. Another thing is that, with RE’s implementation of “horror grain” and the dark environments, the difference between Native 4K and something like 1440-1800p upscaling is not going to be as noticeable for many users. There’s even users who play on 1440p monitors who won’t get any benefit from 4K compared to implementing a better RT mode. The current mode is like the dev just toggled on RT without testing and optimizing the game.
is there a way to use the older version? I don't like this new update at all, it has tedious details
You can disable raytracing and have locked 4k60fps experience
@@KimTe63 Is it in the in game settings?
@@F11-c1u yea just enable performance mode of whatever they called it cant remember👍
@@KimTe63 Thanks.
Ray tracing is Shit in this game ……
Its actually pretty good on PC. Im running on an RTX 3070 TI and it looks 10 times better than the pre RT patch.
Only down side is they broke some of the settings like Image Scaling doesnt even work anymore or that the RT quality is heavily tone down as compared to other games. If they gonna implement RT, might as well give us the option to crank it to max.
