Thanks for watching ! well the answer for that is pretty much time constraints and the fact that all of the gameplay footage was captured about 18 months ago and this project has been just going through multiple different visions and ideas and now I finally just went back and finished it fully knowing I left out many things that could be discussed . You may be right . It does also have improvements with different traction control levels etc . In GT4 atleast for bit more experienced player like myself its super easy to drive even GT3 cars (or whatever they were called back then) without traction control at all compared to more recent entries 😁

What are your thought about daily changing cars you can buy ? Thats something I don't like about PSP version, you cant just go and buy any car you want. Happy xmas !

@KimTe63 I'm alright with it, as it gives me reason to play more and earn more credits. I also keep track on which cars show up at which day intervals.

@@CarlRaven91 That was the idea for sure , giving players more reason to come back daily . Tbh biggest issue with the game for me is lack of singleplayer content which is kinda weird when game was delayed for so long and in the end had great selection of cars and tracks but not much content otherwise ☹️

Slighty? Literally everything is more advanced graphically. Much more polygons on both the cars and tracks, cockpit view, no popping at the distance, proper zbuffer and texture correction, more realistic textures, double the framerate, higher resolution...

@@KimTe63 The PSP despite being portable, is next gen at the side of PS1 (it can even emulate the N64). So yeah no comparison. I bet the PSP with enough optimization could had run a very stripped version of GT5 engine. Look at modnation racers

Well, that was certainly the original plan for a "Gran Turismo on the PSP".

Gran Turismo 4 even though it is fantastic, seemingly the AI has worse awareness than even 7.

If only PSP version had more singleplayer content.. It would have been so much better than it ended up being. PSP version was announced originally as GT4 Mobile btw so GT4 LITE would be pretty accurate I guess😁

Or more like GT4 Beta built.😅

Ad-hoc multiplayer is pretty cool and I always liked it a lot ! I remember playing at summercamp around 2007 with my friend some NFS Carbon 😁 Just didn't have many friends who owned PSP back when it was still around not to mention same games

tried this a few months ago with my PSP and PSVita (running Adrenaline), and it's pretty much seamless and easy to connect to do a simple racing session with friends.

Thanks for watching ! That is such a tough question to answer . Tbh I have not been testing much PS2 games on my BC PS3 since this video long time ago but clear benefit of real PS2 is the fact that everything just runs like it should. BCPS3 has issues with even many more popular games like Ratchet games for example all are pretty much unplayable . If you are fine with around 80% of games working correctly then PS3 can be nice easy way to play ps2 . I guess it depends a lot what games you are looking to play . PAL BC PS3 game compatibility is not very well documented but from my own experience most games I have played have worked just fine or I have not noticed anything wrong with them . If you go PS3 route , you should definitely open it up and change thermal paste at least. Those are getting so old that maintenance is a must

@KimTe63 there are non-polarized caps like ceramics...electrolytic caps are polarized....which means 1 working cap got you going. You should redo that asap

@@draxoronxztgs1212 thanks for the tips . I have had only this 1 and crystal Xbox fail so far and in my cases replacing caps like in this video fixed them 👍🏻 however I have had issues with discdrives in the past

@@KimTe63 Typical display used by gamers at the time was 15KHz CRT TV and resolution of DC and PS2 on such TV was the same - and it didn't look like what you show on your video. DC could be connected to VGA monitor or used with 480 progressive lines on TV that support it amd today it is easier to get good image. If you connect both consoles to more modern TV with DC at 480p and PS2 at 480i you will see differences deinterlacing but usually resolution of static images is full. For changing images resolution is similar to what you show. Good scalers like RetroTink 5x or 4K will handle deinterlacing much better and image will be more visually comparable to how it actually looked on CRTs. Of course different scalers and ways to use might produce different results. Why I comment is that this video like many others cause confusion among people who watch videos like these and then spout nonsense that PS2 had blurrier lower resolution image not understanding the nuance of these resolutions and display realities of the time. In reality for what was available at the time the benefit of DC was ability to use with VGA monitors - something almost no one did therefore comparison between consoles where you compare consoles based on this resolution difference is misleading. Of course VGA monitors were much sharper but typical VGA CRT vs bigger TV - not that big of a difference. Likewise VGA CRT vs same size PVM - visually the difference won't be as big as shown in the video. 480i is more flickery and motion resolution is reduced but overall perceived resolution was 480 lines - so in fact you should use better deincerlacer than just averaging (or 'bob')

@@e8root I use retrotink 5x and motion adaptive deinterlacing . Sscond of all this has nothing to do with crts, those are great and all but but my videos are about how these look with modern equipment and at the time of this video release , this was pretty much best image you can get out of each system without doing any modifications to systems themselves.

@@x689thanatos thanks for the tips ! I actually was looking to replace them with pretty much identical nichion caps but went with samxson only because those were readily available near me . Guess in the future I aim to go for those higher quality ones . Thanks for watching!

@KimTe63 Yea, it is a pain in the a** to get every capacitors from a specfic brand unless you are a professional and you often deal with profesional sellers. It can be difficult depend fromw here you live, but it might be interesting to look from professional electronic sellers. Here the best one is less friendly for non professional sellers, but they have literaly everything (i've 5 devices waiting for a full recap). I've never tooked a close eye about what microsoft had used for it's first xbox, but i'm gald they have not been cheap with what they've sold to the consumer. /thank you for you for sharing on this topic. The clock capacitor was well documented, but this is a new step to look about.
