@@nthgth Its basically more related to the 2.4L in a Stratus, etc. than the 4G63. You can actually build a Stratus engine up to the equivalent of the SRT4 engine. There is none. Nothing’s the same. Do you know what that’s like? Fucking John Madden has NFL Games named after him.... Colin Mcrae, and Richard Burns have rally games named after them except instead of being a coach they fucking _competed_ and SUBARU is the thing that ties them together. n think he’s talking about the light greenish-blueish colored R34 sitting in the used car lot during the prelude to 2Fast 2Furious which connected the ending scene of the first film to the changes that started off the second film. The R34 that Brian pays cash for at the lot and takes it street racing to earn more cash to then modify it to the fit of the second movie
I'm loving these videos. I remember when these movies came out and I was deep in the muscle car scene (at the time I owned a 72 Chevelle SS) and thought these were so stupid. I ended up buying a heavily modified 92 Eclipse gsx in the mid 2000s and it really got me to appreciate the actual "tuner" cars and not the rice rockets that were seen everywhere. Looking back I'd take any of the cars in these early movies (even the heist civics) over the "stanced" cars that are out now.
I thought it was used in a small clip from Fast 5 when Hobs meets Brian and Dom at a parking lot full of street racers while someone else was putting a tracker under the Gurkha.
Crazy1speed damnn for real? I always thought there was something different about that scene, it’s always stuck out to me. Partly because at that point in my life I was playing Gran Turismo 3 and the Cobra SVT was my favorite car and it was actually in the movie.. and then it got brutally destroyed.

The SRT4 definitely deserved screen time. These days the Skyline R34 isn’t even as intimidating as it used to be. Too much competition today. Golf R, Focus RA, Civic type R, STI, Hellcats etc
I still think the most bullcrap thing about the GT-R in the movie is that Brian just happens to come across it sitting all dust in the back of some random used car lot in the middle of America. Like.... WHAT?!
I'm really liking these videos and thumbs up all that I watch. It's really interesting all these years later we find out tid bits of neat info on our favorite series. Thanks for the uploads.
Fun Fact: Bryan did not introduce us to the Nissan Skyline. It was actually Lance/Leo whatever his name is in the yellow R33 Skyline who keeps a lookout right before the first race in the first Fast and the Furious. @@nthgth Its basically more related to the 2.4L in a Stratus, etc. than the 4G63. You can actually build a Stratus engine up to the equivalent of the SRT4 engine. DCR (Darrell Cox Racing) has actually taken the SRT4 engine over 1,200whp, and theyll sell you all the parts to do so. Engine wise, it's just as buildable as the 4G63, but still remains FWD....and unless they were custom ordered, all SRT4s came as 5-speed. They aren't bad cars at all, even the 1st gen Neons were great for SCCA racing.
Someone who tracked an Neon SRT-4 wouldn't lol
Hey Craig- GREAT videos! I love hearing the back stories about the cars and original owners from the first movie, before Hollywood took street racers and turned them into international commandos mixing it up with nuclear subs in the arctic. Do you any stories about the yellow R33 from the first movie or Dom’s original Charger?
Would've been nice to see the bullet skyline as the hero car and not the evo. That's like going from eating steaks to later getting served bologna sandwiches
I wish you’d spent the same effort keeping the 3rd gen eclipse out of the movie. Not saying the SRT4 was cool but it was way better than an eclipse convertible.
there's room for both in the films. & ok..no SRT4 for Paul..so a flat out ban? lol retards.
Mario “The SRT4 is just fugly. Looks like a Subaru.” I’m sorry..... *what?* .... Excuse me? ..... *EXCUSE ME!?!?!?* no..... *_excuse you_* how the *FUCK* does a sentence like that even come out of an actual human being’s mouth? go to google images right fucking now and just type in “22b sti” better yet why not just type in “Colin Mcrae 22b” ok? Go type in “Subaru BRZ tS” actually no type in “Subaru BRZ STI” and look at the front end of that motherfucker.... ok now on google images type in _”SRT4 Neon”_ better yet just type in _”Dodge Neon”_ how in the *_FUCK_* is there even remotely a correlation there, visually, physically. There is none. Nothing’s the same. One is a riced out FWD shitbox, while something like a 22b looks/is an AWD fucking rally icon driven by some of the biggest names in rally racing history like Colin McRae, and Richard Burns. Do you know what that’s like? Fucking John Madden has NFL Games named after him.... Colin Mcrae, and Richard Burns have rally games named after them except instead of being a coach they fucking _competed_ and SUBARU is the thing that ties them together. Someone that would DARE compare literally one of if not the biggest names in Motorsport history especially in rally with a fucking dodge neon deserves to have fucking eggs thrown at them in public. I thought when I read that “that has to be a fucking joke” but no one in their right mind would make a joke so fucking ignorant and low, it might almost be worse than making a holocaust joke, because at least a holocaust joke is a form of dark humor ya know, humans try to make light of things that they are afraid of, people derive forms of comedy from fear. This? Is just fucking unacceptable. Subaru is still one of the only ones still in the game, keeping the manual transmission alive, while the Dodge Charger never came in a manual neither did the demon, but you can still get a manual STI, hell you can still get a manual legacy, or outback. You should be ashamed.
I hate convertible ecplise and all eclipse
Minh Luu He's right ya know.
I think it's because they had a deal with Mitsubishi to use their cars as the hero cars and since Paul had the Evo then Tyrese didn't really have an option.
Hey Craig, I see my BMW M in the background of a few shots in this one. What a fun time that was filming the movie and meeting Paul. Always thankful for you getting the club the opportunity.
do u have clearer images of the bmw it looks cool af
The neon is a beast if you build it.
2:36 and now we know where guys of NFSU2 Takes the design of the Skyline just with a yellow stripes, and also has a short history in the game, like the movie
Sucks that Amazing Car was the Player's Car in NFS: U1, until Caleb wrecked it with his Hummer.
What about the green one in the middle of 1st and 2nd movie? :)
Was it true that it was a private Paul’s car?
The screen needs the detailed guy like You!!!
Best regards
The eclipse?
n think he’s talking about the light greenish-blueish colored R34 sitting in the used car lot during the prelude to 2Fast 2Furious which connected the ending scene of the first film to the changes that started off the second film. The R34 that Brian pays cash for at the lot and takes it street racing to earn more cash to then modify it to the fit of the second movie
Ah I see. I can't say I've seen the prelude in all honesty
n you should watch it. It’s on TH-cam
It was one of the Stunt cars. Craig has said a few times he’s not exactly sure which one
love cars that look simple and clean. one color, window tint, lowered & set of nice wheels.
What happened to the grey market GT-Rs after filming? 🤔
@Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nur R34 '02 Source?
I think what you meant to say that the blue gt-r was from Fast & Furious (the fourth movie)
yes i think, it's just a little mistake he doesn't mean it.
I thought it was used in a small clip from Fast 5 when Hobs meets Brian and Dom at a parking lot full of street racers while someone else was putting a tracker under the Gurkha.
@@Vin80_ I think that was the Porsche that Dom won for Brian before Hobbs met Dom and Brian at the street race.
Nah the Porsche was with the Charger, not the Skyline.
R.I.P Paul Walker 🙏🏻 😇 see you on the track in the sky brother.
Very nice info and well presented mate. I'd be happy to hear more 8)
Please make a video about the crash between the Mustang Saleen and the Corvette.
It's true that it wasn''t scripted?
I'm pretty sure I heard the same from the "making of" section from Fast2.
Unscripted
Always wondered about that. Looked real
It was unscripted so they just added it in the movie because it was so real
Crazy1speed damnn for real? I always thought there was something different about that scene, it’s always stuck out to me. Partly because at that point in my life I was playing Gran Turismo 3 and the Cobra SVT was my favorite car and it was actually in the movie.. and then it got brutally destroyed.
Hey man, please make more of these. They are a pleasure to watch and you're very good at explaining all these events during the filming of these movies.
Hope these videos get the attention they deserve. Very interesting stuff. Thank you

I totally had a picture of your dark blue GT-R on a binder I used in high school before the movie was made! I wanted that car so bad.
For everything the SRT4 was and did, it still deserved screen time- regardless if it was a "neon" or not.
Balto D facts yo I agree with that it’s one of the first affordable srt car but still it’s nothing like a GTR
The SRT4 definitely deserved screen time. These days the Skyline R34 isn’t even as intimidating as it used to be. Too much competition today. Golf R, Focus RA, Civic type R, STI, Hellcats etc

The bridge scene in NFS U1 and from the movie. Always a winner to me. Waiting for it to happen :3
Sean Morris is legit. He has been active in the Skyline community since the inception of MotoRex.
I still think the most bullcrap thing about the GT-R in the movie is that Brian just happens to come across it sitting all dust in the back of some random used car lot in the middle of America.
Like.... WHAT?!
There’s been way crazier cars found in the states
It would never be sitting on a random lot very illeagle for a normal dealer to sell a 34 still even

Found your channel a few days ago. I was so surprised to see your project mentioned in here. You're getting famous!
While the sound of the Skyline was edited in post, you can get the same noise from real ones running RB25s and 26s.
I'm really liking these videos and thumbs up all that I watch. It's really interesting all these years later we find out tid bits of neat info on our favorite series. The first movie got us really interested in the tuner culture and that still lives in me today. The first F&F and Gone in 60 Seconds are still to this day, two of my favorite movies. Thanks for the uploads.
Fun Fact: Bryan did not introduce us to the Nissan Skyline.
It was actually Lance/Leo whatever his name is in the yellow R33 Skyline who keeps a lookout right before the first race in the first Fast and the Furious. He calls out “streets closed pizza boy, find another way home”
I just don’t understand why people credit paul walker for skylines.
Because he is the protagonist and that's an r33 not an r34. Your comment is invalid sir. Also you only speak for the FnF fanboys, anyone with a wealth of car knowledge loved gtrs well before the movies. Just look at the r32 back in it's rally days! Unreal I tell you.
@@user-fo1ow1jq3b r32 is the real godzilla
Enjoy these videos so much now and as a teen. It introduced me to the tuner culture and now and will be forever a die hard car guy.
A mllion for a Skyline, god you guys are getting hosed over there
Not just because it's a Skyline... It was Paul's car in Fast & Furious. A regular R34 will probably cost $80k, which is still crazy.
@Keynesian Economics 2024 can't get here soon enough in that regard. I wonder if you can import a year or so early and just garage it. I know the demand is going to be idiotic.
Keynesian Economics last year, a completely stock M-Spec Nür (in millennium jade) with 30,000 miles on it was imported over for auction. All I know was that the starting bid was £200,000, and there was a lot of interest in it.
Don’t know how much it sold for though.
Is it safe to say it's mainly the rarity, not the F&F franchise, that explains these high values? (And being in good condition, etc)
@Keynesian Economics "Desirability is such a critical factor when determining the value of cars." Yep, that's why I said it's crazy. It's an awesome car, but it's a legend because of these movies. Without them, I'm not sure it would be as popular, especially here in the US.
I can't even imagine Fast & Furious with a Neon instead of the Skyline... This decision would've been so bad the movie franchise would've ended with 2F2F... Thank you for putting a GTR in this movie! You are a LEGEND!
Paul Walker actually drove that blue Skyline in the 4th movie, not Fast Five
Great video. Thank you person for showing us what u were apart of sir. All car lovers will appreciate this.
I kind of wish it was a SRT4. Because then the skyline wouldn’t be nearly as popular/expensive as it is now.
Yeah for real I might actually be able to think about affording one then. Now I can't even think it I can barely dream it lol.
Christian but then you would of never wanted it
What ? It still wouldve been realllllly popular.
Christian But then Neons would be expensive and those were way more affordable in the first place.
@@communistpootisbirb You completely missed the point...
Just a fun tip! The stunt GTR ended up in Spokane WA around 2010. It was at a car tuning place for sale with an $80,000 price tag. Not sure where it went from there.
>neons barely avoided the FnF tax
Thank god
sort of agree..but Dodge wouldv'e sold more of them, too. tbh, there's enough retards out there smashing them up, smh. Vipers, too. the other great car missing from this film series.
@@tomj4406 There are several cars that are conspicuously absent, but I suppose they could only include so many.
IIRC, there was a Viper in the "audition" chase scene in 2F2F, along with the other two modern American cars of the entire franchise (to my recollection), a C5 Corvette and New Edge Mustang that we all hope wasn't a real Terminator in its final shot.
@@nthgth yeah, that's true. I'm not familiar with that 'Stang? & I'd sign off on the 'no SRT4' deal, if i could reshoot part of 'Fast1'. As in..the single spin burnout Dom's SC Hemi Charger does (Huh? Good luck getting a wheelstand out if it!) and the whole quarter mile fiasco of a race between Dom & Brian. Lol..the fizzle that idk wth part that is under the Chargers engine, the shot where Dom extended looks at Brian at 120+ mph in town..bc suicidal and almost does die?! The kooky/blurry, drug induced looking shot where time/space is being warped or something, idk.. And..use a real supercharged 900 hp 426 Hemi charger (probs could've had the mill donated by a big engine shop for a promo/shout out, a stock A-833 4 spd, Dana 60 with superstock leaf springs would fill the drive line bill), doing a real wheelie, not the special fx hydraulic, car liftie thing.
@@tomj4406 I'm not that knowledgeable about drag racing musclecars but it sounds like you sure are. Maybe all that stuff would've cost so much it would've made practical effects less practical than special effects, lol.
Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure the Mustang was a convertible, so I think it couldn't have been a Terminator anyway (in real life it was probably a V-6), in the movie it ended up ridiculously crushed by a tractor trailer

If he drove an SRT4 I don't think the franchise would have made it past the 2 fast 2 Furious. Also am. I the only one who noticed this? In 2 Fast 2 Furious you can see the green screen twice right after the police officer shoots the ESD that shuts down the skyline
