    Such great finds!! I am always admiring Sezane's knitwear and rummaging through ravelry to figure out which ones I can recreate, so it's so fun to see you do a roundup in a video! Emilie Luis really has so many great designs, definitely channels the same French vibe as Sezane.

      I was so happy to find Emilie Luis. She is definitely one of my fave designers now!

    Great idea! Thank you! I recently was inspired by Sezane’s Gaspard Cardigan in red with white mother of pearl buttons. I’m now making my own version with Petite Knit’s Copenhagen Cardi pattern without the pockets in red using Drops Baby Merino held with Drops Kid Silk. It’s coming along nicely.😊

    I'm so happy about this one! I've been getting ads since they're in Canada now, and screenshotting sweaters I thought I could knit - and now this saves so much effort 🥹

    Thanks for the video. I have often thought I'd like to make a Sezane type of sweater. They don't always use purely natural fibres either, so I would like to make my own version.

    Thanks for the round up. I am definitely always thinking “I could make that” when I am shopping or watching tv. It’s nice to see the actual patterns I could use for once 😅

    Love this! ❤ Would love to see this kind of video done for babaà! Especially since they are so stubbornly size exclusive. All of their sweaters only come in one size!

    I like bottom up sweaters

    Love this idea so much. Please so more of these for a range of stores (especially Old Navy. Sometimes they have such cute looking sweaters in kids and adult sizes, but the construction is terrible)

      Great to hear! I enjoyed compiling this list more than I thought so I think there will another pattern round up in the future.

    It’s like you read my mind, lol. I was just thinking the other day about how I can knit some of these sweaters and how it would be more cost effective to purchase the yarn or stash dive to make them. Thank you Mel! 🩷

    Very good idea ! I do like Sezane sweaters but when I think I could definitely knit them, I prefer not to buy their sweaters. I do have a cardigan (the Angelie Cardigan) that I would love to replicate but finding a lookalike one on Ravelry is not easy. Thank you for this video !

    Drops Design has a free pattern that looks like the Melvin Jumper called Buttercream Swirls.

    I love your videos 😊
    And have one more recommendation, for Aretha Jumper, from Sezane collection, it’s a Saguaro Sweater by Camille K on Ravelry, she also has a cardigan version - Saguaro Cardigan by Camille K (this one I’m making right now).

    • @stringthingsbymel
      @stringthingsbymel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for watching and for the recommendation of the Saguaro Sweater. I did see that one during my search. It's a beautiful design but didn't make it in the video as it only goes up to a 44-47" /112-119cm bust.

  • @annabelle7123
    @annabelle7123 ปีที่แล้ว

    The ribbed raglan pullover does have 6” negative ease so it should fit 60” bust. I would say they are all size inclusive then? Great finds 👍 it’s really hard to get that slim, light fit like the machin knits though… and I don’t want to knit a garment in 3 or 2 mm needles 😂 (FYI there is a Korean TH-camr who does that!!! Amazing)

    Such a great idea! I´ve never ordered from Sezane but some of their pieces are incredible! Please do a series! Your lookalikes are amazing!

    Cocoamour's Portobello dupes the Leontine sweater.

    • @stringthingsbymel
      @stringthingsbymel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did come across that pattern and it is a great lookalike, however, after accounting for recommended ease, the pattern only goes up to a 47"/120cm bust circumference.

      @@stringthingsbymel Yeah, the sizing is too bad. I knit it in a cotton cashmere and it turned out great. I am not a designer but it is such a "simple" pattern, I would think grading it for bigger sizes shouldn't be too difficult??

    • @stringthingsbymel
      @stringthingsbymel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't believe grading should be too difficult (a tech editor can help with this too) but I imagine that finding testers for the larger sizes is a barrier to some designers. With other designers offering size inclusive patterns, why isn't that the norm? Definitely raises lots of questions!
