Insane thing is CPS had been to their home a number of times and had removed his daughter from a previous relationship😑 if she had to be removed, why not the other child? Red flag! “Authorities” dropped the ball. Incredibly sad. I wouldn’t be shocked if girl lied to her audience about their amicability and actually had a restraining order.

My own father deleted my mother when she was 33. The whole town, many churches, and my dads family rallied around him like he was some victim because he was a well known preacher. I was the only one who spoke at my moms funeral. I was 13. Watching how her life and death played out and at the hands of a man she catered to like a maid AND she was the bread winner, taught me I could absolutely be alone.

After being married only a few years,I’ve realized a lot of older women aren’t single because they can’t keep a man or couldn’t find a man. They’re single because they don’t want a man. I don’t ever want to be married to another man ever in life of this one doesn’t work out. It’s nothing but hard work and making it work. I hate this happens to women who finally get the courage to leave and try to be fair in the process.

Most of the complaint post are about how they have difficulties with their husbands and kids during this change in life. A lot of them are divorcing. Menopause is brutal. I couldn’t imagine dealing with a man right now. So glad I’m single. I’m so at peace about this. No kids either. Phew. Dodged a bullet.

I don't think there's any amount of careful you can be to be honest straight guys are just like this. And heterosexuality is inherently unegalitarian. The differences in physical ability as well as the privilege of white heterosexual men to acquire vast amounts of weapons without any suspicion or stigma is also a reason. People's side eye a lady with a gun but they don't do that to a man. But there's one common through line in all of this straight white men doing it I've not seen a black guy do this I have not seen a bisexual do this It's only ever been largely straight white men

Thank you for saying "How are we supposed to know? " The number of times I've read comments that say "she picked him" or "women choose bad boys and then complain." People need to use their brains, unless she was raised in an abusive family which would make abusive behavior seem normal, she picked him because he intentionally misled her into thinking he was a decent, responsible person.

Applause. We don’t know because they lie and misrepresent themselves. So many women don’t make it out of these relationships alive or functional. And these are the men that never put hands on the wives before they killed them. How were the women to know?
Thankfully, my mom is paranoid about men and told me what to look out for when I divorced my ex. It didn’t help that he tried ti choke me during foreplay before I decided to file.

And even if she did know, society has really pushed this "You can fix him" narrative on a LOT of people. I mean, look at Beauty and the Beast. And this also creates a thing of "He might have hurt others, but he won't hurt me". And I am willing to be family members of abusive spouses will say that stuff to lock the victim of their abuser in. "He hasn't hurt you, so you don't have to worry" or "Its not that bad, he is a good person". And when the abuse does start, she will likely be gaslight to believe she deserved it. Even if the dude is KNOWN to be abusive, there is a chance that society will throw you at him anyways, claiming you can fix him, and making him your responsibility when in reality the only one responsible for him is himself and he does not want to change but will be more than willing to change you.

Even if you ARE from an abusive family or experienced it growing up, they still conceal their true selves from you until they decide to show you who they really are.
Just always write things down , because they are chameleons, and use gaslighting to make you question yourself or second guess yourself. Some incidents can be years or even decades apart before you see it as a pattern of behavior . Also we are taught to give so many excuses to men and shrug off so much as "men being men, boys being boys" that it's tough to know if we are 100%over reacting to things. There's no way it's your fault that someone is intentionally harmful to you.

I remember being at a garage sale as a kid and my mom was talking to the seller. He told her that his daughter had permanent brain damage from her abusive husband… this father was just so at a loss of what to do and so distressed he was telling strangers about it. I’m not sure how disabled she was or if she’d ever recover, but I know that brain/and or spinal injury can take away your ability to walk, talk, use your hands or think. And you may never recover. Every woman should critically examine the domestic violence statistics and ask themselves if being partnered with a man is truly worth that risk.

(TLDR suicidality is actually the cause of this not really any kind of jealousy)
I tend to think of it more as a murder suicide similar to how I conceive of school shootings and the psychology of those people. I don't think it's so much about how she reacted to the divorce but the fact that they divorced at all that did it. I think these people largely we're only living because they had a family. Once they feel like that's gone and their reason to live is out the window then they react this way to destroy it If they can't have it no one can and they don't care about the consequences because they don't really want to live anyway.

My mother couldn't sleep when she started filing for divorce because she knew my abusive father knew where we lived. They had been separated for almost half a decade at that point, and he had been deluding himself that she'd come crawling back and be his housewife while he got to bang his young mistress.
Really, she was just getting everything together so it could be as quick and painless as possible, and do that she did. I heard her lawyer actually cackle while they were sorting through it all.
The man hadn't had a spine in years, though, because he only lightly argued about 'their' taxes, to which she said "Already did all of my end." They got physical before, but he always came out of those limping because Mom was a BODYBUILDER before she had me. Guess that scared him off from doing anything stup!d during the divorce.
Haven't seen him since I was thirteen, and I hope I never do.

This story was so sad, but this is how men can literally fool you even until AFTER a breakup/divorce. You can't ever feel safe with a man. Here she was, thinking he was hurt by the divorce, yes, but committed to moving forward peacefully. It was a trick. Tbh, women just need to stay fully away from men, even the ones who seem okay.
But what concerns me is saying she's never been on her own. Live alone first, ladies. Learn how to do things on your own, so you aren't so dependent on a man. That's a huge way they trap you. He probably assumed she'd never leave BECAUSE she'd never been on her own.

When I left my partner a year ago I left the whole damn state and told my family to not post anything about me and where I was. This was my first relationship after being single and celibate for 10 years. And before that I only had 2 relationships since my divorce in 2005. Why had I been so skiddish about relationships since my divorce? Because I too thought that we could handle our divorce in a civil and mature manner. My ex who had NEVER been violent or emotionally unstable in the 9 years of our marriage turned into a person I didn't know once I decided to file. I couldn't believe that I had lived with this man for so long and had no idea what he was capable of. He threatened to pick-up our children from school so he could kill himself in front of them. This man was the best father throughout our whole marriage. I have since said that you don't really know a person until the relationship ends and the way they handle it.

This is exactly why I quietly removed myself from my covert narcissist of a husband. After trying everything he possibly could to break me for 6 months straight after asking for a divorce, he realized he couldn’t trigger me anymore and he went running back to his parents states away, leaving me and our two toddler daughters behind. Before he left, he used to come to my neighborhood in the middle of the night and just park in front of my house with his headlights shining into my bedroom, which would wake me up. I don’t know what his intentions were but I knew he got a gun after I left. As much as I would like to, I have not exposed him to family and friends because in the last couple of years we were together, any time I tried to leave, he would threaten to k*ll himself. And my thought process is, if you threaten to off yourself, what’s to stop you from taking me and my children out as well? So I have been quiet and peacefully raising my children with absolutely no contact in hopes that we don’t suffer because he can’t deal with the consequence of his own actions.

We found out recently that my 85 y/o grandfather has been stealing my grandmother's money over the course of the last 2 1/2 decades since her retirement. He hasn't worked since the 80s and lied about having savings of his own. Took control of all the joint accounts, closed them and reopened some with himself as primary. When arguments broke out at the revelation, he constantly threatened her with violence (she's 86 and has less mobility than he does). My sister laughed when I said witnessing them has left me somewhat traumatized. Whatever tiny speck of respect for or faith in men I have is gone. I have my own trauma from and from men in my family, but seeing him devolve like this makes me refuse to ever build a life with a man

That poor woman was speaking as someone who had finally woken up and realized who she was and what she was capable of and was seeing the future through fresh eyes. This is what the "decenter men" movement has been telling young women and girls - wait, live, explore, discover who you are before cutting off all your paths of possible growth, development and achievements. Men want you to settle for the "egg apron" when you are aspiring for a trip to Greece. Do your metaphorical Greece whatever that may be, unapologetically. Don't wait until some has burned through the best years of your life and then possibly take your life.

My first husband, after molesting his daughter by his third wife for an extended period of time to set up an accusation of “unfit parenthood” against her mother during a divorce, he self deleted when caught. My adult children who survived his years of abuse were re traumatized when he did this but my son said something poignant… we lived in fear of this man for years and when we found out he was ded, it was like he hit a manic sense of relief… he said, “thank god I don’t have to kill him (to protect us)”. I can’t tell you the sense of relief, peace and calm we felt at the end of this person who had menaced us for over 25 years.

Amen ❤ God protected me from this kind of man and I am so grateful I escaped. I left un silence and without notice. All the glory to God ❤❤❤

The sad part about this is that, he blind sided her - had her thinking he was level headed about everything . . .

I didn’t know who they were but this is terrible! My so called “dad” offed himself when I was a young teen. I couldn’t image if he’d taken my mother with him! I don’t think I would have made it. The children 😢

Love changes love is oh so full of dangers, and best friends become strangers.

What’s really gross about it all is the family and friends who support that guy after he took her life away.
On Facebook they were saying how amazing he was and how people understood why he did it. These people failed her. Not surprised knowing they are from Mississippi. Don’t come at me, my family lives there and southern women will stand by their man through hell and back.
I feel so bad that she had a funeral with the man who took her life away. A lot of people think it’s for the daughter, but if I was her I wouldn’t want that.

Unfortunately this happened to me and my brothers 30 years ago on December 17th 1994. I’m 36 now and it took me until my 30s to forgive my father but that comes with a lot of self healing and healing generational curses. Life has been traumatic but at the same time, I now am very careful not to find a man like my father.

Ladies! Do not announce your separation please, even as an influencer. These men have such fragile egos, that you telling the world about the divorce is admitting more or less their inadequacy. Plan accordingly, tell the ones most important to you and leave quietly. Please 🙏🏿
