Hi and thanks for your effort with this video. This may be helpful to some of your viewers who want to capture sounds without the Tonex Capture hardware. In your setup section, you said that you are routing your signal directly to your amplifier and not using a re-amp box. The re-amp box is imperative to getting the right input impedance to your amplifier. That would be the main reason why the capture sounded different to the original amp. The capture was a little bit flat. Lacking in low end and to play it would’ve felt a bit lifeless. That is a result of the impedance mismatch from the output of your audio interface directly into the amplifier. I have an 11 Rack which has a dedicated high impedance output for that very reason. Of course if you have to get an Re-amp box you may as well just buy the Tonex Capture device which one can still use as a re-amp box for other applications.
Yes of course, I told in the video that will be better to have the reamp box..and I recommend to buy the tonex capture instead of a general reamp box cause is convenient to have the routing together.
great video. I am going to play around with this and also try it using a boss pedal in bypass, which supposedly will work too, before I buy or make a reamp box. I get my tonex pedal tomorrow and am looking forward to it.

Yes radial DI/reamp box is ok to use from the audio interface to the amp

Thanks for the instructive video. I have a CaptorX and an HX stomp which can be used as audio I/F and for re-amping, so I assume it could fix the issue you pointed out ? Perhaps it would be interesting to do a video explaining the routing for such a setup too ?

Nope, the pedal is to bring with you and play live the captures. The capture is done by the software which od based on Nvidia GPU, so il your graphic card of pc that will elaborate and process the captures
I've seen some people posting Captures of Plugins, in which case would I still have to use the 3 outputs, or can I do it with just 2v?
My groove tubes direct box can be run in reverse apparently it can substitute a remap box. Makes sense to me.
With the Tonex capture box what do you set your input attenuation to? I had to set by ear which was close to 0dv but not all the way to 0. (To match how it sounds like plugged in to the front of the amp)
I think you should see a light telling you you are clipping... if I remember well..cause I'm not using it anymore since I've builtt-in reamp output in my Antelope Orion Studio Synergy Core audio interface
Thanks for the really informative video ! I was wondering how you get to run studio one and the stanalone version of tonex at the same time (because i can't) ? Also, how can you actually do all the routing within studio one (indeed i have to do it within my audio interface software, which won t allow me to run an IR loader or an eq before profiling). Thanks

Hi there. Did you manage to capture your Kemper without using the IK capture box? I mean , same as what you did but the kemper being captured by the tone x via sound card. Thanks in advance.
Hi! good question, never tried cause my kemper has captures or my real amps, so I preferred to capture directly my real amps. Anyway I've to try it.

My way is without a reamp box so is lacking of that piece of gear. The capture box is a reamp box and routing box and I really enjoy to use it…it’s convenient

Ciao, beh dipende cosa vuoi catturare del combo...se vuoi catturare la sua interezza quindi anche il cono, beh si lui deve lavorare e quindi necessiti di un microfono, se invece vuoi catturare sono il reparo amplificazione puoi caurare solo l'ampli, ammesso che tu possa staccare il cono e lo tratti come testata e cassa. Se non hai una loadbox colleghi sempre la cassa/cono ma dal Tonex Capture che te lo permette

@@luciopooh Dipende dalla tua reamp box. siccome non hai una loadbox per catturare in silenzio o comunque catturare l'intero amplificatore, devi sempre in qualche modo collegare la cassa perchè l'ampli deve scaricare la sua potenza. il Tonex Capture ha questa funzionalità di avere anche l'uscita per la cassa, la tua reamp box non saprei.
If I have a torpedo captor (not x) and an axe FX .. what else do I need?
Axe fx is digital, you don’t need neither the torpedo captor. You can go directly to your audio interface

My question is if I need to buy a reamping box...I don't know if axe can send high impedance signal to my amp

I have a 16 ohm THD Hotplate. But have various amps with different impedance. Does it matter if I just use it on load?
Yes it matters...if the amp cannot discharge correctly the power into a loadbox you can damage the poweramp or the loadbox.

I have captured my amp and I want to save the file on my pc or on a flash drive, but it has been saved in Tonex as a tone model, not as a preset and I cannot export it. Could you tell me how I can export my own capture to my hard drive?
I would also like to know if there is a difference in capturing in Advanced mode or in Default mode
Hi the Advanced mode is for complex sound with high gain sounds, to save the tone model you have to create the preset cause is the only way to export. So save a preset with that tone model and then you can export it
is the Tonex software receiving input from the physical hardware input ONLY, or physical hardware input through any other DAW plugins on the channel prior to Tonex? Since it is a plugin, I would assume the latter.
You can use Tonex as standalone too if you want so the signal would be through physical audio interface, but in this case is better to use a daw so to create the routing for the output for the capture process, so I'm going into the audio interface and then the plugin is opened in a channel of the daw
im not sure how to set up a line out in logic pro, i have an audient id44 and it has 4 output on the back, 1L 2R 3L 4R so i should be able to get it to work i just dont know how to set up the line out like you did, ive tried to search for it on the internet but i cant find it.
Hi on logic you have to go to the settings of the audio interface, I don't use it but for you when you find the audio interface settings, you can manage the input and output

@@MadSteex Yea, thats all I want to capture. I can use different power amps in the Two Notes Wall of Sound app. Its RCA out because its a 1st gen Focusrite Solo or something. I dont know if they call it RCA everywhere, but its like smaller connectors they used on stereos and vcrs a while back. If I want to try to reamp it from the software I would need to run out of my interface though.

What about FX Send from Amp?
It can works but partially cause you will use the “preamp” of your amp, and not the whole amp with also the poweramp section. I used that trick before when I haven’t the torpedo captor x

It's not too good of a capture cause you used the fast mode on a highly saturated signal which has a lot of harmonic content and requires more processing power. For the gainy and fuzzy sounds it's necessary use the advanced mode.
Yes I know...this was the second video, is not meant to show the mode....only the routing in this video, I did a video dedicated to the advanced mode.

ToneX is progressively replacing my kemper. I didn’t want to switch too fast and I also wait for the ToneX pedal. And also nobody wants to buy kemper.
sell the kemper now for 400 or 500 less maybe 700 before its worthless, in 2 yeas they will be worth 200-300
@@AaronOwenSmithAbsolutely not. The Kemper is far to established in live rigs and studio applications to be replaced, and it also has everything in one place. Capturing unit, power amp, preamp setting. Now the Kemper is also a USB interface and gets liquid profiling, so there's tons more to discover on this unit.
Form the average consumer base, yes, those sales are gonna completely crash due to ToneX pedal and whatever might come next.
But, if the prices fall drastically, I will definitely buy a Kemper 😂
Hi. , I´m trying to model my Bluguitar Amp 1, with 12 inch speaker. Clean channel sounds amazing, so first try the result is that the tonex model. sounds much quiet than the real one. I don´t have the tonex capture I manage the routing on studio one, like you.
Having drop in volume is strange cause Tonex should manage it making the capture...be sure to have all the level correctly, no any clipping..maybe better with a load box?
