- It doesn’t matter if a ghost is real. But what does matter is the ghost story. Coya Paz, interim dean of The Theatre School at DePaul University, delves into three different categories of ghost stories and why it’s important to listen closely - because the dead want just as much from us as we want from them. Coya is an associate professor in DePaul’s Theatre School and the artistic director of Chicago’s historic Free Street Theater. She is also the cofounder of the Proyecto Latina collective, served as the founding co-artistic director of Teatro Luna for nine years and co-authored Ensemble-Made Chicago: A Guide to Devised Theater. Above all, Coya is deeply committed to creating and supporting artistic spaces that help historically marginalized populations share their stories and personal experiences. Raised in Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil and the United States, she holds a doctorate in performance studies from Northwestern University. A ghost saved my life when I was lost in the Shenandoah.
I had gotten lost while looking at ruins of old houses off the trail. After searching for a while, yelling, and crying, I asked for help from anyone, anyone at all that would please, please help. I then felt someone pulling at my ankles towards a different direction then the one I was facing, and having no idea which way to go, I followed. I kept following the pull, and the pulling immediately stopped at a graveyard by the side of the trail I’d been on. I’ll never forget their help. I very well might have died without it.

I’ve had 3 paranormal experiences with my sister there for all 3, where we heard an audible voice. The first voice we heard changed my life, I was fully convinced that there is another world that overlaps ours and we aren’t alone.

My brother waited 25 years to tell me he saw a Sasquatch. This was not far from where we saw a grey thing float across the field in front of us. We laughed until we realized it was something we didn't know and ran.
Native Americans and ALL ancient's knew the spirit realm is real. We saw what we saw. I don't know.

Ghost stories are the best! Anyway, I am a bit of a hypersensitive and so are my mother and big sister. My previous office at the government complex sits at a place where murdered victims were thrown in the past. There was a lot of activity in that place. And I am not sure how to best describe what I have. Sometimes, my sense of smell is strong in that I will immediately know if a place is jinxed. It has this rotten or burnt smell to it.

@@soslothful Why? Whether or not supernatural phenomena truly exist, our brains and bodies have clearly have evolved to believe in things that go bump in the night. It's fascinating to study that evolution, and see what it says about how we have evolved and why we came up with those ideas. Folklore and urban legends are a constantly changing part of oral history.

I was staying in old hotel in Sydney about 200 Meters from where the sailing ships came in back in history. A man appeared at the end of my bed with prisoner manacles on his wrists. It was early hours of the morning. Very scary. I have seen family members too. Not long-after they died. It still gives me a fright.

In other news the latest capture of a potential thief using the new carer system. Duelingual Boasthelords, son of Duelogistics Boasthefathersfound, was taken to a maximum security solitary confinement cage cell room permanently and is now property of the global statestate. Most of the time, these ghosts are just demons. The demons want our attention because they are miserable and self absorbed. They want us to worship them, but if they can't get that, at least get us to pay them some emotion attention as she put it.
