Sorry but that hose was not flush like before you cut it. So how is the tape supposed to hold??? 🤔🤔🤔

I agree. It never occurred to him to make sure the two sides of the hose properly met. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I wouldn't call that fixing a leak. You're trying to join two severed ends of a hose. I'd be curious to see if flex tape or any kind of tape could be used to fix something more realistic, like a pinhole leak.

Yeah, I'm guessing Flextape wasn't designed to fix a -severed- hose. How about a normal wear and tear cut or pinhole leak?

Thank you! I've wondered about Flex Tape and now I know lol

What do you know? You can't know anything from this pathetic attempt. It might work, or it might not. You really can't know from this performance.

I just used Flex seal and it failed.
Knew it would, but tried it anyway.

Copper tube and 2 clamps. More effective and less expensive.

That's really time consuming. I'm really tired of doing that. If you have multiple leaks close together, you end up using a lot of those or losing a lot of length of hose. BTW, those things often take multiple attempts to get a good seal.

Its how you did it. We had stored a pool abd a rodent chewed a 4 inch hole on bottom of pool so i decided to try flex tape. I made a patch then sealed the patch and it held for YEARS and i finally had to cut the pool for drainage and removal.

May not have fixed it but at least you can use it now lol

Horrible! You set this up to fail. The way you cut the crook/uneven hose n the fact you left a slight gap when you taped it is a setup to failure. No way in hell flex or any product can stop that leak.

This was a horrible example of how to fix anything.
I can't believe you were not embarrassed to post this silliness.

If you've got some suggestions for how to fix the hose with flex tape, we'd love to hear them!

@@FixDotCom here’s one: just poke a hole in the hose or create a small slit, and try to tape it over. Don’t cut the bloody hose in half. Try to fix the kind of problem someone is actually likely to try to fix this way. I get going for the extreme problem, but shouldn’t you try to fix the small more likely problem and if that works, then graduate to the extreme let’s break the world and try to tape it back together kind of problem?

You really did a poor job of applying the tape both times. 1. line up the two ends of the hose correctly. You didn't do that well either time. 2. those kinds of tape are supposed to be placed with overlap. You didn't do that either. 3. you didn't really try to seal up the tape all along the length of the repair. Try again and we will come back to see if it really works or not.
Your second attempt looks like it might work if only you did everything right.
