New Blower Motor Resistor from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1AHBR00121
The heat and air condition fan is controlled by a separate module, called the blower motor resistor. The nature of this component’s job causes it to heat up frequently, which can lead to failure. If your vents will only blow one speed, this is likely the cause. TRQ has a new resistor module made specifically for your vehicle. This video shows you how to install it yourself in your 2005-15 Toyota Tacoma

Great video! Thank you. Just an FYI Toyota sells the same part, apparently upgraded for about the same price as an aftermarket. It has a slightly different configuration of the harness that connects to the resistor but as long as you connect the four wires to the same colours you’ll be just fine.

Changed mine out today, lucky for me I didn’t have any burnt marks so I only had to replace the resistor. 5 min fix. 🙌🏻 It’s working for now.

I noticed you skipped fan speed 3 tho. Just saying. Lol all kidding aside I found your video to refresh my memory, I replaced mine when I bought the truck 9 years ago and it has broken again. Sure I could buy the OEM resistor but I'm cheap. It all came back watching this. Thanx much.

Great job with the instructions/video. Thanks for this. I actually looked at it and others and noticed it is mostly burnt contacts. I just sprayed some CRC contact cleaner in both the connector and the resistor module and everything is working perfect now. Only been a week now so will see.

Does the resistor block 'thingy' have to be put back into the hole and reattached with screws for this to 'work'... or will it work if you just lay it on the carpet one the wires are re-conected? I am trying to test out the wiring of the new harness but I am still not getting the fan to come on... I haven't pushed it back into the hole yet. Doesn't seem like that part shows it needs to be put in the hole. For about a year, my fan only worked on high... 3 days ago, it stopped working at all. I had hoped that this part I ordered and received a while back would save me... but I can't get the new resister thing and wiring harness to work. I've checked a few fuses... but the look ok to me.

I have a question more than a comment, my A/C works only on hi so I purchased a new resistor, pulled out the old one put in the new one and I get nothing? It doesn't even come on an any speed?? any suggestions as to what the problem is?, I did notice that the connector did have a small burn on it and I have not replaced it yet, do you think that could be the problem as to why the new one doesn't work at all? Believe it or not I have replaced it with 2 different new resistors and gotten the same result....nothing.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks

The screw on the back is a pain, you absolutely need a universal to properly remove, when installing don't over tighten the front screw before starting the back screw, if you do, it will place the resistor in a cock position and make more difficult to install back screw.
