@@EmmaHubbard my baby does this movement a lot, but I notice it’s when she is bored or excited or upset. Like she doesn’t know how to express herself so this is how it comes out. Is that normal?
My little one loves to do the step-crawl mix on non-carpeted surfaces, because she seems to like being able to quickly sit up and look around. That one lag down seems to let her quickly balance in a sitting position.
1st week home with our newborn, she burped up through both her nose and mouth while laying on her back. As she continued sputtering and choking and crying, I calmly lifted her out, rolled her face down, and started wiping her face before burping her some more. My wife was shocked at how calm I was. 8 years lifeguarding! If they're coughing or crying, they're still fine.
I just read this in a British article, "Landau Reflex is a secondary reflex that appears around the fourth month of the baby’s life and whose absence may be an indicator of motor weakness or a slower mental development." Why would they say that is it because they're leaving after something else goes along with it?

My boy has just turned a year old, for the last few months, if I give him a blanket or he gets hold of any clothes he will pull and pass this blanket or clothes from left to right and do this till he gets bored. Is this normal?
Emma! Can you PLEASE make a video about steps to stop my little one from THROWING EVERYTHING. He is getting himself and others hurt. He refuses to play with toys in any way other than throwing. Even large, heavy, dangerous toys. Thank you!
Have you tried modeling the proper way to use the toys? You can also teach gentle vs. rough playing and provide positive reinforcement when they play gently. Also, when you hand them a toy don’t say “don’t throw it.” Just hearing the word “throw” might make them want to throw it. Instead give them a command that matches what you want them to do like “hug the bear”, “drive the truck”, “ bounce the ball.”
My 1 year old niece is shaking her head, shes like giggling laughing but without a sound. Her eyes are like so slow to rivert or to look straight but shes quick to response to her name.
I’ve come to investigate. My 6 month old granddaughter who smiles constantly she really is delightful. But she does this thing with her hands constantly. I call it tai chi hands. What about toddlers and shyness/social anxiety? My 2 year old daughter is very talkative and playful at home with us and at the park with her aunts and cousin. However she will point her head down, avoid eye contact, get very quiet, and stiffen her body when interacting with strangers or family members she doesn't see very regularly. Also if someone who she isn't comfortable picks her up or holds her hand without permission will make her cry and call for mom or dad I'm worried about her going to school in the future because it seems she will have a lot of anxiety. For example she is in swim classes and is fine with her teacher and classmates But she cries at the front desk workers and substitute teachers
Ignore the disrespectful idiots. Your concern is valid. Social skills are very important, and as we can see from some comments, some people have poor social skills. First, figure out if it’s just normal shyness or true anxiety. Try to find books about meeting new people and read them together. You can also prepare her for meeting new people and family members. Before they come over let her know who’s coming. Show her pictures of the person she will meet and praise her for little things like waving or saying hello. You can even do this with FaceTime, but make sure you prep her for the encounter first. Give her space to just take her time, and warm up to new people, she may just be an introvert which is perfectly fine. It may take a while so don’t get frustrated.

My little one would move by lying on her back and pushing with her feet, moving around head first and blindly. She absolutely hated tummy time, even with the tips received, and would turn to her back as soon as possible and be very frustrated if we blocked her. She’s in physical therapy now, and though she has some gross motor delays at least she’s ok being on her tummy and will army crawl now. Even if she will sometimes still move around on her back as well.
My 9 month old uses a 9th method. She goes from her tummy to sitting up, back down to her tummy and sitting up and gets anywhere she wants fairly quickly!!
I wish government insurance gave me a half decent pediatrician . I'd rather pay the thousands and thousands of dollars to at least have some say in my childs health care and it wasn't like im just shuffled in and out.
Uh mine is 5 months and a half. He shakes his head when trying to sleep sometimes and he doesnt respond sometimes when he is watching miss rachel yes guilty but i have to clean and cook. I think its normal since he has great eye contact. Wish you all the best with your babies
My nephew crawled by laying on his back arching his back until he was on his head and his bum then inch worming that way. He eventually figured out the normal crawling but that was this first way he would crawl
I got scared when my son always do the step crawl mix. Kinda look funny and He does it so fast. I kinda worry me Not until i watched this and at least made me feel comfortable. Thank you ❤
Hi Emma, my daughter is ten months old now; she doesn’t crawl forward, but she does that backward and takes a whole circle when she is on her back. Should I be concerned about her crawling?
Hi Emma, I need your help please as I've been soso emotional and feel helpless. My son is premature and was born 6 weeks before be due date and weight 1.560kg when he was born.. On the 10th of March he will be 4 months (from the date he was born so minus 6 weeks) and is now weighing 5.400kg. He's still not able to turn on his tummy. Is it something I should be worrying about? Please help me understand 🙏
My son seems to army crawl or commando crawl. He uses both arms and right leg and the left leg he mostly pulls. But he uses the leg when sitting up or pivoting
It turned out she did it trying to push herself into a standing position without holding on to something! She is now almost 15 months and a little running whirlwind, hasn't done it in a while
My daughter is 7 months and she just started to like slap her self on the chest and her head sometimes...she repeats it most of the time with her left arm. Should I be concerned? Everything is she's doing pretty well.
Hi! Babies do different behaviours and most of the time they only last a few days or a week before they move onto the next thing. Just keep an eye on it and if you are concerned or you can't identify why she is doing it (eg. is she trying to communicate something to you) then I recommend you have a chat with your doctor.
I wish to see a similar video about choking on saliva (without any reason, as I understand) My 3-month-old baby does this from time to time since she was born. It happens mostly after 2-3 hours after I breastfeed when she is laying on her back. I guess it is not the milk but her saliva, she is also drooling at the moment, anyway, I searched to find the answer on different forums, Reddit, etc. some say it is reflux, but my baby seems not to suffer from it...
Hi my 5.5mo (4.5mo corrected) girl recently started using her right fist to hit her bottle repetitively during bottle feeds, and hits her tummy or other objects when playing. Is this normal? Im still trying to figure out what it means or what she’s trying to tell us. Any tips to get her not to hit the bottle as it is quite disruptive to her feeding and looks painful too. Thanks!
My baby flaps her arms like she is an airplane when she is upset, impatient or wants something. Is this normal? It's not hand flapping but more arm flapping.
My baby did this for a couple of months, he figured he could get around by just rolling!!! He was sitting on his own when we would place him down, but couldn’t figure out to go from tummy to sitting. Don’t worry, he is now army crawling with “normal” crawling in between. Im sure your little one will get it :) I would recommend watching some videos to help him/her to getting into sitting position. Babies are funny and love to scare us, one day they just wake up and master that new skill on their own
I wish i could comment with a video to ask if what my child is doing is normal ... but she head bobs and her eyes stay in one place so almost like they are rolling as her head goes down. Could it be a seizure
Hi mam, how to overcome baby developmental delay problem? Can u give some tips to overcome this, which I can do it from without going to any hospitals..
Hi! If your little one does have developmental delays it is best to work with the allied health professional who specialises in that area to give you tailored advice and help address these delays.
My 12 month baby has been lifting his right shoulder to his ear the last few weeks, not sure what this means? It's like a shrug, he does it a few times then stops a few times a day. He does have his top teeth coming through could this be what it is?

Are son has an unusual excitement seizure he does with his hands and shakes as he moves his hands and arms very often since he was 1 year 1 month old. He will be 2 in a couple weeks and he keeps doing it. We had him evaluate for autism where he will be receiving treatment in a couple months from now😢
Hello Emma, My boy is 11months old, and from 7th we have noticed this hand and feet twirling which sometimes comes with facial reaction as well (like cramp/spasm). It seems to us that he is doing that when he is happy/excited which also include feeding or some special song which he like on youtube for example. Sometimes this happens few times per day, and sometimes a lot...much more often. Since he is 11months old and occures with different intensity, should we be worried? Please let us know, we are really worried. Thank you in advance. Regards, Monika
My baby does this too! Really just when he's eating but it scared me the first time I saw it recently (he just turned 10 months the other day). Bc almost like a spasm like you mentioned. Where he clenched his fists or hand what appears to be tight for a little one but I def noticed he seems very excited at the time and is smiling and leaning in for more food. Would love to hear what you have to say as well. I worry (FTM worries❤️)
My baby is 18 months and likes to hump on my leg or an edge. It started out as a sign to communicate she pooped when she was much younger but now she does it even when she doesn't have a soiled diaper. She gets lost in the moment and gets very angry when you move her. It is actually worrisome please what do I do?

She’s in physical therapy now, and though she has some gross motor delays at least she’s ok being on her tummy and will army crawl now. Even if she will sometimes still move around on her back as well.
Thanks so much for sharing! It’s amazing the different ways you see bubs moving around. When they are determined they find a way!
My 11 month baby also not crawling but doing something like yours(lying on his back and moving)..Is it normal ?
How about my son (9months) when eating in his chair he is going back and forth, banging his back against the chair. Only when eating?
My 9 month old uses a 9th method. She goes from her tummy to sitting up, back down to her tummy and sitting up and gets anywhere she wants fairly quickly!!
Omg the commando crawling is so darn cute I would buy them camo onesie 😂😂😂
Lol I shake my head at her when we're playing and I'm telling her I love her, i thought she was copying me to tell me she loves me back 😂
Hello Emma my son is 14 months, but he can't stand alone his toes are always bend am worried
What are the concerns of a 10 month old for ADHD and autism?
My nephew crawled by laying on his back arching his back until he was on his head and his bum then inch worming that way. He eventually figured out the normal crawling but that was this first way he would crawl
I got scared when my son always do the step crawl mix. Kinda look funny and He does it so fast. I kinda worry me Not until i watched this and at least made me feel comfortable. Thank you ❤
It's my pleasure!
Hi, my baby is 11 mo, and He still has gag Reflex very often. Is that common?
Very informative video, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Emma, my daughter is ten months old now; she doesn’t crawl forward, but she does that backward and takes a whole circle when she is on her back. Should I be concerned about her crawling?
You are now a lot further along with the little one: how did it turn out? Did she moved on to the stages after with few issues?
Thank you for putting in the effort on educating parents ❤. I think even adults do funny behaviours! 😅
My 6 month old twirls her hands and feet. But she does it all the time, thought-out the day.
My 2 months daughter move her head side to side ( not every day some time) is it ok? I'm so worried
My son is 16 months he started shaking his head or turn it left or right sideways and he likes to bang his head.He started when he was 15 months old.
I don't know if it's strange, but my almost 10-month-old daughter started to do the downward dog Yoga pose a lot the past week.
Definitely something bubs will do! It’s so funny to see!
In my culture that means that you're pregnant or someone close to you is pregnant lol. 🤰🏻
Mine does it whilst breastfeeding since like 6months 😅 you're not alone
Usually bc of gas or just because they can lol
Thank you 🎉
You’re welcome 😊
Commando style is a classic
I wish to see a similar video about choking on saliva (without any reason, as I understand) My 3-month-old baby does this from time to time since she was born. It happens mostly after 2-3 hours after I breastfeed when she is laying on her back. I guess it is not the milk but her saliva, she is also drooling at the moment, anyway, I searched to find the answer on different forums, Reddit, etc. some say it is reflux, but my baby seems not to suffer from it...
Their eyes also tell
Hi my 5.5mo (4.5mo corrected) girl recently started using her right fist to hit her bottle repetitively during bottle feeds, and hits her tummy or other objects when playing. Is this normal? Im still trying to figure out what it means or what she’s trying to tell us. Any tips to get her not to hit the bottle as it is quite disruptive to her feeding and looks painful too. Thanks!
My baby flaps her arms like she is an airplane when she is upset, impatient or wants something. Is this normal? It's not hand flapping but more arm flapping.
Is she still doing that now?
My 3 month niece is stucking tongue out again & again..
Is it normal
Plz reply
Hello! My son shakes his head and I’m worried, very worried! Where can I send you a video to show you the way he does it? Please! Thank you!
Thank you 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
My baby just rolls. Pediatrician concerned he is not crawling yet, but he doesnt even sit yet bu himself
My baby did this for a couple of months, he figured he could get around by just rolling!!! He was sitting on his own when we would place him down, but couldn’t figure out to go from tummy to sitting.
Don’t worry, he is now army crawling with “normal” crawling in between. Im sure your little one will get it :)
I would recommend watching some videos to help him/her to getting into sitting position. Babies are funny and love to scare us, one day they just wake up and master that new skill on their own
There’s an 8th! Upright and scooting on knees!
My baby he is 14month he can't sleep at night he like to fight is that normal please I'm so worried
Wonderful!
My 12 month baby has been lifting his right shoulder to his ear the last few weeks, not sure what this means? It's like a shrug, he does it a few times then stops a few times a day. He does have his top teeth coming through could this be what it is?
Hi, have you found out what is this?
@@sayuris1139 He stopped doing it, not sure why he used to lift his shoulders up like that, but he no longer does it.
@@aurora6920 thanks for responding, my baby gal is 8 months old and she’s doing it once she wakes up and on and off during the day. When did your baby stop doing it? Did you do any test?
@@sayuris1139 I don't remember when he stopped but it was a long time ago, he's just turned 15 months. i didn't test as i assumed it could be teething (although he is still teething now)
What are some developmental milestones for language development? What are some strategies to help parents support their child's language skills?
Hi! On my channel I have a few videos on how to help support a child's language development. They should help!
My 13 months old son shake his head sometimes when he plays eat or when is ready to sleep is this also normal or not ?
Hi my son does the same, have you seek consultation with the pediatrician?
What about sounds babies make.
My 8 months old started doing different facial expression just like when we ate some sour food..he does this when he wants to pee or poop..is this normal?..plz reply
Hi I subbed I like how the world of babies work like how their vision has to develop over time lol
They are super interesting!
Are son has an unusual excitement seizure he does with his hands and shakes as he moves his hands and arms very often since he was 1 year 1 month old. He will be 2 in a couple weeks and he keeps doing it. We had him evaluate for autism where he will be receiving treatment in a couple months from now😢
Hello Emma,
My boy is 11months old, and from 7th we have noticed this hand and feet twirling which sometimes comes with facial reaction as well (like cramp/spasm).
Regards,
Monika
My baby too. 9 months old. 😢
How are your kids doing now
My son also does this
Hi. Is he still doing that now?
My baby twirls his feet and hands but ive noticed when he seems to excited or someone he likes he does it hes 11 months now
Is he still doing that now ?
My 9-month old boy did the same thing! 1:02
how is your baby He's normal.
My baby shakes her head..and she also lift her hand and observes it turning it around
My baby is 18 months and likes to hump on my leg or an edge. It started out as a sign to communicate she pooped when she was much younger but now she does it even when she doesn't have a soiled diaper. She gets lost in the moment and gets very angry when you move her. It is actually worrisome please what do I do?
