Very humbling to see a clearly very good player put himself in a position to add to his years of learning and try something new. Fair play to you both, gents.

Fantastic video. Really encouraging to see an extreme example of “hardwired” movement patterns modified with one session of feels (drills and swings), rather than trying to overwrite them with brute force repetition, like beating thousands of balls to ingrain a movement change. Thank you for sharing your insights. As Tony said, very enlightening.

For me your best lesson ever. To help change someone with that ability and really open their mind to the bodies natural movement. Great work cheers for that.

Marcus out of all of video I’ve watched that you’ve put up. This one really was the light bulb moment for me. I’ve really been struggling with getting pressure back on my lead side but after watching this video bang it’s all become clear. Cheers pal 👍

I have watched this video several times. I will watch it many more times. Tony is an absolute student of the game, and with your instruction he will be making leaps and bounds in his game very quickly. I can't wait for my GRF board to get here so I can start re-wiring my swing.

I imagine we all enjoyed it, Tony you had wonderful ball flight (if shot tracer is on) very smooth swing. Strangely enough I had just had a conversation a day ago about how our memories remember what we used to do, and as we age we struggle to come to grips with our losses in the game. Then you pop up Marcus and rekindle our fires of hope! Top notch stuff, (why did I ever leave the British isles)?

What an intelligent man love the way he listens closely to what you are saying. Have noticed with previous lessons that the clients are too keen to hit the next ball and dont spend enough time processing what you are saying. This is not a criticism just an observation as i understand the anxiety and desire to hit one and get it right. Brilliant insight as usual. Wish this Covid would end so i can get over from Ireland to see you.

Spent many an hour on that range. Grass was looking a bit rough at Pinheiros. I really enjoy the way you focus on intent and body motion, rather than positions. I have been thinking about throwing a heavy weight in a certain direction since watching your videos, a bit like when Tony was swinging the heavy bag. Not totally sure I get the direction of force in the feet, but just the motion of throwing a heavy weight in a certain direction has really improved the quality of ball striking.

Great video. And kudos to Tony for being receptive to new ideas after so many years of teaching. This just shows the influence and respect for you Marcus, that I'm sure is world wide at this point. Brilliant. Also it's seems that Tony left in a better place mentally, and swing wise, than when he arrived which was very nice to see. Thoroughly enjoyed that lesson👍👍

Thought for a moment I was watching Tommy Horton!
I can really resonate with this lesson, been playing golf forever, now got the backswing nailed after a couple of lessons with you, but I have problems with the timing of the transition.
It’s really hard when you are trying to rid of fifty years of bad habits.
It’s one of the most enjoyable videos you have done so far.

I love seeing the transformation that’s made with handicap golfers(especially my own!😄) but seeing how Tony became ‘enlightened ‘ using the system even though he had a swing that I would’ve died for is absolutely brilliant... I feel now, that I want to use my board more as the training aid it is, rather than something to correct something in my swing that maybe crept in like the occasional top or block. It’s as if you know what we need to see 😄great work lads 👍🏼💙

This video is exactly what I’m suffering with, I feel I have a solid swing and make a solid strike but feel my max speed in my swing is before I’ve even made contact with the ball, what a great video 💪

Great video, I’ve been playing for around 54 years and can relate to much of what has been discussed here. So difficult to change patterns that are long engrained in the system and when younger was able to compensate to some extent but now the body feels seized up and not moving in an athletic way.

  • @acemakerjay

That was encouraging. I am a lot like Tony, I've been playing for eons and trying to put into motion your training will be illuminating. An old saying, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" LOL You've just de-proved that. Awesome video Marcus. You can really tell he enjoyed that. Would love to know how much distance and club-head speed he gained after this.

Wow, that must be so difficult compared to having a lesson with a regular hacker in terms of convincing at least. I suppose on the upside an athlete has a lot easier to adapt to the new movements but when you've played golf so long at a high level... Impressive. 3 more days, cannot wait.

      Not generally good

    • @54fighting5
      @54fighting5 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I still have a long way to go but for myself, I noticed immediate improvement when I realized I was on my toes too much. When I focused specifically on putting my weight back more (felt like I was on my heels but really was just more evenly balanced) I had a more relaxed takeaway and was MUCH more balanced on swing and follow through. I believe it also helped me figure a better position at address as I realized I was too far from the ball. Just my 2 cents, but it might be worth experimenting. BTW this light bulb 🔔💡🔔moment was because of Marcus' videos.

i first discovered this on one of those rotary plates at the gym,Yes i could turn it just using my obliques or just using my hips but if i pushed down into the ground the difference in speed compared to effort was amazing. I have built a cheap version of the see-saw with a plank and bit of broom handle but i produce to much twist into the ground so saving up for the real deal!
