Marcus your instruction along with Dr. Kwon is such a breath of fresh air. I really needed this 20yrs ago!
Absolutely brilliant, this has to be the best explanation of what the majority of amateurs are doing wrong week in week out, love your channel Marcus keep up the excellent videos.
One of the most enlightening golf videos ever. Brilliant.
That was the best video. To explain the lead leg in a golf swing. I have looked for this a long time. It is difficult to see as a high handicap golfer. Perfect thank you..
Your teaching is really awesome-- this works!!!!
Absolutely brilliant, I almost don't want to show your channel to my buddies so that I can finally get a leg up on them. Keep up the great work 👍
For several years, I've paid for and observed golf instructors. You are by far the best instructor I have ever heard. You have made simple what other instructors are complicating or ignoring. I applied your common sense techniques, and after watching (and liking and subscribing) to) your videos, I developed an effortless, consistent, ball-crushing swing I'd been looking for for 60 years-and is it ever fun? Would you consider a trip and golf instruction here in America?
I have just starting using the Force Pedal to get better at exactly this. Not as cheap as half a tennis ball but its been a good training aid for me so far.
I just watched some of your golf lessons I am always inconsistent I have lost a lot of distance I am 74 years of age but still fit so hopefully with some of your tips I can enjoy the game again I have had plenty of lessons from other professionals but with no success, thanks for the tips will start to use them and hopefully, I will improve JOHN HYND
ditto on the brilliant!!...their are so many bad ways to kick and throw a ball which u can feel instantly when loading is done incorrectly....but with a golf swing--- it's not so easily detected...thats why it's so important to always go back to throwing and kicking load sensations which you stress here.....bravo and thks!!!
What i found in my swing , was that i restricted my hipturn in the backswing. As i started the downswing, my hips already outrun my upper body. So i got stalled out. Thins i got a bigger hipturn in the backswing, i'm much more synched through impact. This also improved my early extension. Love your channel. Greetings from Germany and happy christmas!
Thanks for explaining the forward leg movement in this level of detail. It’s really helpful to see the differences and great to see how Ben can relate to this in his own movement pattern ⛳️🏌️
Been thinking a lot about best way to get my weight moving forward on the downswing. This brilliant video has helped me immensely.
Another zen- gem
Thanks for selecting me as the winner and I’m glad the question was a good one 👍🏻
Sunday afternoon and getting another fabulous lesson. The best\worst part is you keep showing all of my weaknesses, let’s hope I start to improve quickly. 👍🏴\🇺🇸
So used this on the course today. After a shocking round yesterday. Got to say I was very impressed with the results will try again on Thursday. Most instruction can be hard to remember at times but this technique really help me today with every club and finally hitting my irons nice and high 👍
Super explanation. I would like to know more abort the throwing the club back. How to best prepare to do that. For me it often become very contrived and unnatural.
this explains so many aspects of faults in the golf swing, many of which are caused (in my case!) by the very first movements, including setup. Thank you!
Brilliant video Marcus. Great use of props to demonstrate what needs to be done to generate power through your front leg.
An early Christmas present! Looking forward to next year and more of these fantastic videos. Best wishes from Sweden and a merry Christmas and a Happy new year to you all
Great video Marcus! Perfect revision for me as I had starting hitting fades for the last 3 weeks which was starting to baffle me. Particularly when you see and set up for a draw! As soon as I watched this, it was a realisation that I'd slightly drifted away from my Zen lesson. It all makes sense again now, coupled with the videos received from Sam. Wishing all the Zen Team a Merry Christmas and an awesome New Year 👍⛳️
Hi Marcus seems like this video is aimed at my exact problem from Tuesday, I will be working hard on it and this video helps too, thanks
Superb lesson, really enjoyed it and learned loads. Thanks for putting these videos up, they are a huge help.
Another great video quick question about fairway wood can't seem to get the distance that I do with the irons!!! Usually have a good strike but only hit a 3 wood about 10 yards longer than my 5 iron. Know that you can't see my swing to diagnose a particular problem, but a fairway wood piece would be great 👍
Yep, this is me….good stuff in the video which might help. Maybe I’ll need to come and see you Zen Golf guys
Amazing content Marcus. Quick question - does the down shift come before the torque (twist of the hips back to square) or with it? So should the down be into the lead toe or lead heel? Thanks
I have watched this a few times, such a good video. I definitely think this is what is going wrong with my driver
Another brilliant video, my question is if I'm loosing my ballance after the swing, doss it mean I'm swinging too hard or is my swing path wrong ? All the best of the New Year and keep up the great work improving golfers all over the world 👍
Great explanation. My body just seems to struggle with this movement.
Great video but when do i release the club as soon as I push down with the front leg or does this movement automatically release my arms and therefore the club thanx
Great video and demonstrations on how to avoid early extension. On a different matter if one wants to practice completing their swing and follow through, would you use a heavier trading club or a lighter one to work on the feel and movement we need?
got a question for the pro's . working on the swing at the range is one thing but how do you take it to the course? I know from my lessons that this stuff really works but when you get out there and thing start going wrong what do you think about/ use to get back on track?
Excellent explanation!
Absolute Gold as usual Marcus.
incredible explanation of athleticism. There may be hope for me yet! Thankyou!
Hi Marcus - know you touched on this in a video with Craig and Foz but my question is how can a golfer with knee injury or range of movement limitations on the left side still be able to load and unload on that side during the chain. Now just thinking of starting first bits of rehab after left knee replacement and not sure where to start when I get to start implementing your concepts.
Do you have any advice for really getting the weight across to the lead side - I shift it, but I feel like it could be more committed.
Great explanation!
Hello Marcus, I loved your video (all of them by the way) ... You always say that in the golf swing there are 3 forces: 1 vertical, 1 transverse and 1 rotational ... What happens to the transverse in the case of today ? I have understood that if it is triggered too early it becomes "early extension" ...But how and when you shift your hips forward ? Sorry for my english and big up from France 👍👍
Transverse can happen early in change of direction but body is in flexion and then extends towards neutral 👍
@@GRFGolf 👌
Would it be safe to assume that early extension can lead to slicing with the driver? Along with other problems as such as fat shots?
Marcus I am getting the squat move but seem to just get stuck with both legs in the squat position and can’t get the momentum to extend and use the vertical force and extension to really release the club - help ! I’ve tried getting the feeling of throwing the club down the range which seems to help but any ideas how can keep momentum in to that squat and really power through in to extension
Awesome thanks
I have this same problem but I have arthritis in my left knee and when I put pressure into my left foot it causes knee pain. Is there another way I can use the ground?
I have the same issue so, like you, I’d be interested in an alternative as well.
How long (how many reps) will it take to ingrain this improved downswing SEQUENCE?
Is it the same as a side arm throw ?
you just described my golf swing fault!
Is this the same principle with driver ?
Been trying to book a lesson for my wife’s birthday (April 10 plus a day or two ) when we’re back in the UK. Can’t seem to do it ?
Sorry but April is fully booked up on the system
Man U are putting an offer in......what a right foot 🦶
😂😂
Can one rotate the hips too much in the back swing?
Potentially but most people don't rotate enough because they don't do it functionally.
There must be some way for someone who has tried everything to be able to consistently draw a ball.
The only occasional way for me is a slow swing turning wrists over, but if I use speed ball could go anywhere,
Any drills or ideas would be extremely useful, been like this many, many years. Very frustrated.
How do you get a lesson if you live in Florida?
You can't get an 'in person' I'm afraid unless you travel to England
@@GRFGolf It would be worth it. I bought the training kit and it is on the way, so I will try that along with studying all your videos first.
@@TCraigKirkland Awesome, thanks, really appreciate your support 👊
and the journey continues. Heres my question then. Whats your thoughts on doing a collaboration/interview with Brendon DeVore @ Be Better Golf? Seems his golf journey has moved towards the natural biomechanics and it would be interesting to hear both your thoughts on the evolution in understanding and coaching
How can I keep a slight bow in my wrist at impact, at the moment I've been trying to think of getting my watch through impact before my hands but it's inconsistent sometimes I strike it great and others it's so fat I could cry😂
Excellent! Now I'm going to cut a tennis ball in half to get that feeling. Thanks, Marcus!
Nice
golden
Hockey. You need a hockey stick in the studio. ; )
👍
Gd job
I am curious, why we golfers struggle so much with early extension?? Every gives examples of throwing or kicking a ball, and nobody will naturally early extend doing those things. So why is it so common in golf when not in other athletic endeavors?
I think we should go full happy Gilmore on the range for an hour , with and without ball, to see and feel what it is like with no restrictions or limits!
Woahh woahh woahh,
I write quick fire Bants and have a real name on my account. And this punter turns up for 5 minutes and wins a weekly prize.
Show some love to the long time crew.
Much love,
Alex
Your time will come mate 👍
Currently trying to cut a tennis ball in half 😅😂
😂😂

I feel the left legs extends towards 7 o’clock. In other words push the left hip towards 7 o’clock from 10 o’clock to begin forward swing
my ? is what if every thing we think is wrong by watching people and stuff what if there not wrong cause we all have our own swings and how a body works ive heard that if we do what golf instructors say we will be better and it works for most but how come golfers dont really get good like they use to and aswell i see that in one of your videos you contradict your ideas for injured golfers and people say there is a swing for young people and old and then go on and say the old people swing is better but then they them selfs dont do it ever since we have gotten camras and watched ben hogan we thought if we do what he does or what good players do we our selfs will be better but nobody does they dont understand that hogan sam snead and other greats have said swing your swing dont care what others say about it if it looks bad or wrong to them cause we all are different plus how come other great golfers never had good looking golf swings but they were on the tour and played better golf then players who strive to have a pretty looking swing we need to focus on the result not how we look or mechanics on the result then repeat it even if it looks ugly.
I advocate inviting the body into opportunity for new movement through exploration and allowing self-awareness to dictate what functional patterns emerge. There is no prescription. All we're doing is exploring options and finding our swing through self discovery. This video is offering new stimulus to explore, it's not a method, just connecting us with movement potential to explore using ground reaction forces.
@@GRFGolf i totally agree with you im not really trying to be mean or anything sorry about bashing you so hard there but i do like your videos i do belive that golf should mainly be self taught aswell and self discovery ive found that if you focus on the result and the shot you see its going to make it easier to get the movements happening.
@@BGM6474 That's essentially how I coach. These tutorials are a bit more of a deep dive into how to experience using the ground different ways.
Congrats on illustrating how non instinctive the "modern player" has become with the faulty instruction of the past 35 years.
