    The point you make that the golf action is about "throwing the ball into the ground", which is quite different to many coaches on TH-cam, as they all talk about "throwing the ball towards the target". I tried your approach when I played in a comp. today and I found it gave me much more consistency with my ball striking and greater distance. It made an instant and dramatic difference to my game and I played 5 shots better than my handicap and won the day - not bad at the age of 78 years! I was only recently told about your videos but I am now a convert, please keep up the good work!

      That's so good to read that it's had such a positive effect on your game. Well played, the start of many more wins I reckon 😉👍

    Thank you so so much. I was finally able to hit my irons because of what you said about throwing a ball to the ground. I heard this right before I went to the range to practice and it was like a eureka moment. All of the sudden I could feel the effortless power that I've always heard about. I can't tell you how excited I am for my next round of golf because of this. Marcus your teaching is amazing.

    I needed this. Even w the GRF board, I think it’s like I’m trying to re-train myself each time rather than further my skills. Easy to lock into one bit of an action rather than the feel of the shot or transfer of energy. Part of the issue with indoor only practice at the minute. Thank you, Marcus.

    I’m late to golf and only took up the game 6 years ago and been playing club golf for around 5 years. I’ve been round the houses with lessons and the usual suspects with online content trying to improve. Found Marcus and ZEN Golf, wow. What a difference when you let the body work naturally, Been practicing at the range this past month and now in the process of trying to transfer it to the course. The difference in movement, swing, the strike, the sound of the strike and distance. It still needs lots of work on my part and not perfect by any stretch but I feel so much more confident in the direction of my game and get much more enjoyment out of my practice sessions. It’s awesome!

    Glad you did this video Marcus - I've said for years that lag is a consequence of a properly executed golf swing. I remember watching my son's golf swing a couple of years after I got him started in golf and I remarked "you've got a hell of a lot of lag there" and his reply was, "Oh, what's that then?". That should tell you everything!

    I use the drill of throwing the club down to increase my vertical force and get the club whipping through the ball. Works like a charm! Every time I start to have timing and strike issues, I go back to that drill and all is cured for me. Many thanks Marcus and ZEN team!

    Nice , well thought out video . Every time I get lost with golf I always go back to the teachings of Earnest jones and hey presto serviceable shots again , I think what you teach is an advanced more thought out way to ‘not think ‘if that makes any sense .
    A much needed breath of fresh air .
    Well done.

    I need to admid, zen golf concept is brilliant, logic and easy to understand. Result is proven, I can aim deadly accurate although still in the process to get distance which I do belive will be happened in next 1 month to have 10-15 meters. Thanks for the help to share this in TH-cam.

    This is something I have been struggling with recently just constantly thinking about swing thoughts with no real Intentions for an actual golf shot ,its got me so far and I have used thoughts on where I would throw the club to give me feelings on where the ball should go but the wheels have come off and my golf has taken a nose dive, but the points you have mentioned on this video Marcus is something I have started integrating into my golf and its giving me some light at the end of a very dark tunnel, I'm working hard now on letting my body do its natural thing and I have even noticed I move differently and I'm not as static particularly in my pre shot routine as before it felt very robotic, everything is now geared for an actual shot although I still have work to do , Great video keep up the good work on freeing people's golf 👍

    Marcus, once again a simple but effective master class demonstration. Truly impressed with your delivery and found myself practicing your body movement examples. I immediately felt a real difference in movement after trying the exercises. So, I'm off to the driving range to try this out. Awesome, thank you.

    I’ve tried the “side arm baseball throw” towards the target and it always produced a slice, but throwing down has been a true revelation

  • @keithgrainger8797

    Would that be the same trail arm throwing motion with the driver? Just with a shallower plain because the club is longer.

    Great stuff, but how to think if you are left-handed playing right, my left-hand is doing everything. My right hand is just holding on to the club doing nothing 😃

    If you try to throw the ball or the club into the ground to improve lag. How do you prevent becoming to steep, and moving the club in a V shape?

    • @GRFGolf
      @GRFGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The wrists release so the club arcs out naturally , it's more of an ellipse 👍

    I wonder how many golfers of all standards and coaches have ventured down the Lag rabbit hole in the past. One thing most golfers are very good at is wasting time on things that don't work, including myself

  • @ayotollaofrockandrolla7219

    Closing the clubface closed and increasing that pressure makes me lag if like crazy

  • @AlessandroRorato
    @AlessandroRorato 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Marcus, I can replicate all this free movements, but when i put the ball all the flow disappears and the tension and the arms rush comes back. This is definetely mental... any tips? How can I "forget" the ball? Thanx

    • @GRFGolf
      @GRFGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shifting your attention maybe onto throwing the club back or through into different space, becoming more immersed in the ball flight (rather than hitting the ball)

  • @methodicl2673
    @methodicl2673 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I can film my practice swing and everything looks perfect. As soon as there is a ball to hit its completely different. How do i get over that?

    • @GRFGolf
      @GRFGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a different task so different body response. Most of us are learning golf trying to swing a club instead of playing a golf shot 👍
