    I have to use the old school method because I'm terribly allergic to adhesive of all kinds. Tegaderm, steri strips, bandaids. You name it blisters and hives. I usually use hibiclens the evening before a tattoo, as soon as I take the cling wrap off when I get home and leave it off. I then clean again before bed with hibiclens rinse in cold water, and wait a good 15 min before applying my product. Also allergic to lanolin so it's really limited but I can use as aftercare but I found stories and ink cream to be very helpful. Then I wrap in cling and go to bed. Wash again in AM. Depending on the area and what has been done sometimes I sleep in the claim for two or three nights at least when I was using CeraVe healing balm. The story and ink almost feels like I don't need to do that the second night so I'm going to try it without because there's no oozing and it looks pretty good. This is for my arm sleeve. Wish I could use the adhesive but there are those of us that is absolutely never going to be an option.

    100% agree with the tattoo film for healing because when I got my leg done, the artist wrapped it in saran wrap and my ink was just weeping alot and I ended up losing alot of ink requiring a touch up. Later on ,I got my arm and back done somewhere else and this artist used the tattoo film and boy was the healing proccess much better, and it allowed me to shower and do things much easier. Tattoo was 80% healed by day 5 when I took it off and I just needed to moisturize until 14 days and bam all healed.

    My artist used a black UV blocker on my tattoo but it started leaking blood the first day and ruined one of my shirts and some pillow cases. I took the uv blocker off.I didnt know what the next best thing to do was so i went with the "old school" method of cling wrap. I put a small amount of A&D ointment on it and put the cling wrap on for work so my shirt doesnt rub on it ot get any dirt on it but when i get home i take the wrap off and apply some more ointment and let it breathe the rest of the day. It stopped bleeding by the second day and ive had it about 4 days now. I didnt know about the saniderm so is it okay to put saniderm on it now or is it too late? Am i damaging my tattoo by doing this? Any reply would be appreciated.

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Sure you can mix, however we never recommend cling film because it does nothing for your tattoo other than prevent you getting ink anywhere. It is not breathable so you cannot tighten it, therefore you risk bacteria, dirt etc. ending up in the tattoo. But in most cases you can start with clingfilm, clean and use tattoo film :) Jacob - Team Sorry Mom

    Hi, appreciate your vid. I don't get it at all. Sure I understand that I don't understand but to keep liquid muck (old plasma) that leaks held in place onto a fresh open wound that is trying to heal went against everything in my head. I tried it, followed my artists advice closely & had his film on for a day. Replaced it at 24 hrs I was very particular with hygiene with not introducing bacteria yet I got the mother of all infections from 6 hrs after the 2nd application of film (used the correct breathable medical grade Smith & Nephew). Pretty much though it now with a Dr visit straight away & antibiotics. I can only assume my body rejected the film with an allergen of sorts. My previous tattoo was air dried from 2 hours after getting it & it healed perfectly. Is my assumption correct that some peoples bodies will throw a tantrum at the film ?

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there! We highly appreciate that you raised that question. As you pointed out, some people can experience adverse reactions to certain components of certain products. Therefore, before applying any product, it's super important to check out the list of components -especially if we've had averse reactions in the past. In your case then, dry healing was the better option. However, in our experience, for the majority of skin types the film is proven to be highly effective. In any case, we are sorry to hear about your experience. We wish you a good recovery and all the best. We hope this could answer your question! :)

    • @video3ish
      @video3ish 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SorryMomTattoo You know that's dead right. Ive never been allergic to anything ever (im no spring chicken & built like an M1 tank) & thus didn't even consider a trial method. I will talk to the same artist & will give it another try for the rest of my sleeve shortly & this time ive bought a different brand of film which I had ordered earlier so I will certainly trial it extensively on bare skin prior to putting on a fresh work. If nothing else I now know that early feeling of an infection & if anyone thinks a tattoo can itch - wait until infection starts lol, it goes totally nuclear in just a few hours. Appreciate you took the time to answer & yep my tattoo is healing normally now & was saved with very minor ink lost ready for touch up. My advice to anyone new is if you think its infected then do not waste 1 single day getting to a Dr. I caught it just in time. Hours do matter

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@video3ish We are glad you caught it in time :) And yes, infections can spread rapidly, therefore we recommend to visit your doctor if you feel that something is off. We hope you get an awesome tattoo and a more pleasant healing process!

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Katia. If your artist used a propper breathable tattoo film, you should be able to use it for the first 24 hours - preferably remove it the next time you shower. It is not a must to use a new layer of film, but if it is possible we recommend it because it keeps your tattoo protected. Keep the area clean and avoid too much friction and you should be fine. We hope this helps - Best regards team Sorry Mom

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      We always recommend, that you use 1 piece of film for the first 24 - 48 hours, take it of and clean it while you are in the shower, then re-apply a new piece for the next 2 - 3 days :) so for the time period where you have the film on, you do not need to wash the tattoo, because it is protected and nothing from the outside gets in contact with it :) Jacob - Team Sorry Mom⚓

      @SorryMomTattoo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello Quintin, if the film that the artist put on was just regular non-breathable film, we wouldn't recommend you having it for so long (24h tops). In that case you are better off letting your tattoo "dry heal". But if it is film designed for tattoos then the 5 days should be fine :) but listen to your body and pay attention. It should not be able to ruin the tattoo or create an infection, if he did it right. Jacob - Team Sorry Mom

      Hi Krissy! We are happy to help, you are not a pain at all :)
      Make sure that the film your artist put on your skin is breathable. If that's the case, it's okay to have it on up to 3 days. However, if the film is just cling film, we'd rather let it "dry heal" after the first night; your skin needs oxygen in order to regenerate, and by keeping it covered by cling film, we avoid that and increase the chances of getting an infection. We hope this helped! :)

      hello Lynx, hello the best you can do now is to keep the tattoo clean and sleep with clinge film, but only sleep with it. then start your aftercare rutine tomorrow. Jacob - Team Sorry mom

    Do you remove the tattoo film to apply lotion & such for wet healing?

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello James! While having the film on, you shouldn't apply anything. However, after removing the film, you can start applying the balm as part of your moisturizing routine. Once the tattoo is completely healed (2-3 weeks after getting tattooed), you can start applying the lotion. We hope this helped!

    My tattooist just told me to keep cling film on. Changing and cleaning it every 2/4 hours. My arm is sweating. Will I loose ink out of it

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cling film makes it impossible for your skin to breath which is why sweat under it. You won't loose ink though and you should be fine!

    So just got my neck tatted . Something small. The tattoo artist put a film on it (Tuesday night) and told me to take it off after 4 days ? Today is (Thursday morning ) day two. Should i take it off and clean it or leave it . (I don’t have any extra film )

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Christian. If the film you have on is simply cling film and you have nothing else to cover your tattoo, we would recommend you remove it, clean the area and start the moisturizing routine. However, if you have breathable film on and you have no extra film, it's alright to have it on up to 4/5 days. Ideally, the first film should be changed after 24h after cleaning and moisturizing the area with a thin layer of balm and kept on for up 3/4 days more. We hope this helped answering your question :)

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello tommy, if its tattoo film its properly gonna be fine, however if its cling film we recommend that you only wear it until you get home from the tattoo artist and then use it while sleeping the first 1-3 nights. The cling film is not breathable so wearing it for that long is not good for your tattoo/skin. But as i said, if its film made for tattoos its breathable and then its fine. Jacob - Team Sorry Mom

    When i use this , i can to go to pool to stay in water ?

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Ferariu, in princip a tattoo film should be water proved, however we would not recommend you to go into a pool, spa etc. while the tattoo is healing, not even with a tattoo film. The chance of the film falling off, getting torn off or otherwise compromised is way to high. If you are going on vacation or otherwise are going swimmin, we instead recommend you to wait until after and then get the tattoo, because a new tattoo do not like the sun either and while it is healing you are not supposed to put sunscreen on it. I hope this helped you. Jacob - Team Sorry Mom⚓

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Viking, we normally recommend that you use 2 pieces of tattoo film, the first you wear for 1-2 days and then you chance it and wear the next for 2-4 days. That way, you protect your tattoo in the first crucial part of the healing period. Jacob - Team Sorry Mom⚓

    I always keep my tattoo skin on for 3 days and that’s what everyone in the tattoo shop recommends. It is important to point out though that Saran Wrap (or cling film or whatever he calls it sry I’m American) is NOT the same thing.
