Tony Lewis was still touring and could still sing this perfectly until his sudden passing in 2020 at 62 years old. And RIP also to John Spinks, aged 60.
@@aussieman8738 IDK. I hope not. The fatalities list is growing everyday for old and young. And the governments simply won't admit that's the cause. Too much money to be made.
So many lyrics from this song just hit so electrically and feel so good in combination with those brain tingling vocals that tickle the senses , triggering a flood of dopamine, and leave on walking away with nothing but smiles🖤 It’s one of those songs that get you in a feel good mood for sure. Those vocals are completely unique and euphoric to the ear. 🖤
Those harmonies were done in the days long before Auto-tune. Flat out freakin' TIGHT harmonies! This voice and this song majorly defined the mid-80's era. so many memories. good GOD! And again, this song was an absolutely MONSTER song.
Rock out Maggie! The Outfield is one of those bands where you say "Who are they?". But then you hear something like Your Love and suddenly it's like"Oh Them! YAAASSS !!!". Great pick Jerry. Great reaction Maggie.
The 80s was probably the best decade for pop and rock music in terms of variety. There were many great hits for every genre and subgenre of popular music, from electronic to disco pop, late funk and soul and early hip hop, pop rock, emo, goth rock, glam, punk and heavy metal and everything in between. From the late late 70s to the early 90s it's like there was a huge wave of creativity and innovation.
There's no voice coach back in the day it was all pure talent im very proud i was born in the 80's with all those great aongs and extremely talented musicians where they can play instruments without the help of autotunes to all the 80's kids cheers!
I saw them on what I believe was their first tour of the States. They were the opening act for Starship, and I saw their show at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. This song had just exploded up the charts, and if I remember right, they played it twice in their set. The crowd loved it.
I grew up during the 70's and 80's. There were SO MANY BANDS and so much great music that even though I had preferences, I really never noticed just how much different music there was available at that time. It was all taken for granted. It's amazing and an eye-opener now to see the reactions of young people discovering what I took for granted. No offense, but these days it seems as though you could throw a pair of sneakers in a dryer and that's most every song you hear now.
First known as The Baseball Boys in London's East End, they were bigger in America than they were in their home country. A sort of play on so many American bands being bigger overseas.
Excellent reaction to one of my favorite 80s songs, when I was actually a teen and these songs were new. I had no idea the keyboardist was blind; I just thought he was wearing the shades to be cool. If you haven’t already, you should check out Dan Vasc’s cover of this song and his many other excellent covers of all kinds of music.
Fun little fact here; I had bought this album on cassette back in 1986. "Say It Isn't So", the first track and lead single off the album, was having some success on AOR radio which got me hooked. The fun little fact here is that I had a friend back in the day by the name of Jerry who absolutely loved this album even more than I did; so much so, he asked me to let him have it for $5. I figured why not since we were best buds and worked at the same job. We literally wore that tape out; no worries, though, I got it again on CD a while later.

You haven't done Steelheart yet. Check out their songs "I'll Never Let You Go", "She's Gone" or "Can't Stop Me Loving You". The lead singer has incredible range.

Watching reactions to this song from reaction creators I have seen many videos from. It's crazy how uniquely enjoyable this song is to everyone. Hard to imagine finding anyone who wouldn't love this.
You know how ice cream is so good and you take that first bite each time of your absolutely favorite flavor and your endorphins go wild...that's this song.
Maggie Renee!! What a great reaction. Tony Lewis had a set of pipes on him. RIP mate, lost him a couple years ago. John Spinks, the winking guitarist, left us almost 10 years ago. A great song. Maggie if you want to hear another singer with a great set of pipes, listen to John Farnham singing The Beatles Help live! You will not regret it. Have a great week.
The popularity of this song continues to blow me away. Over 1 billion views/listens and literally ENDLESS covers! Not bad for a little band from England!
It's fun watching you enjoy this song. Like one of my kids and we are sharing a happy moment. I did enjoy this video. I remember in 1986 when the Outfield debuted even got to meet them up here when they opened for Starship.
I saw them in concert years ago, Maggie. They were really good, "Live." At the end of the concert they did one of their songs three times in a row as they were filming it for a music video. I think it was "Every Time You Cry."
The 80's were amazing! Have you reacted to Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield? Another 80's bop & the guy singing it was on General Hospital for quite a while and he's a hottie still now.

Missing Persons, Destination Unknown. Also 80's and very cool! Or Sly Fox "Lets go all the way" Very cool song!
...so this is not the first time hearing it?

40 years later and I still know it by heart.
Im sure all the songs from the 80's and 90's will never be forgotten
The verse “just cause you’re right that don’t mean I’m wrong” is gold
Thank you! That harmony is just fantastic and sung with so much emotion! 🔥
The first verse is fuckin perfection lyrically

You got to love that 80's vibe it never gets old. What a great time to be alive.
A certified earworm! Once heard, it will ALWAYS be in your head. That's how you can tell a good pop song. It's simple, straightforward, and, catchy.

The British band that sound more Americans, a unique sound, rest in peace Tony Lewis!
💯, not helped by the Baseball association with the term "Outfield"
@@PjRjHj there is the term outfield in Cricket which supersedes the period Baseball has been around
they were more famous in the state than in their homeland - Britain ...
@@terenceperera597 i know I'm very late to this comment but they did name themselves after baseball. Their original name was "The Baseball Boys"
The picture the artist is painting in the video is the artwork for the album cover.
Teenage years. Liked this group when they came out here the states. Good music to just to chill to
The outfield were great. Super unique sound very catchy hooks
They sounded just as good live.
"Since You've Been Gone" is my favorite one by them. "Voices of Babylon" and "Say It Isn't So" are good ones too.
I would add "All the love in the world" and "61 Seconds"
All time JAM. The harmonies are what puts it over the top for me...

I love this. Brings back teenage memories.. Josie's on a vacation far away.........
Beautiful song ❤
Loved this song along with "Say It Isn't So."
Great live band, saw them in concert years ago and they sounded awesome.
Such a great band! As a teenager in the 80's...yeah I tried to screech to this band for hours on end!

My favorite band.😊😊
His voice is just sooooo clean
This is my favorite song of the 80s and there were a ton of great songs in the 80s

I love this song. And adore Maggie
The magnificent Tony Lewis. RIP.
Ah, my favorite song from the 80s!!
That song is timeless
One of my favorite bands!!!
Wait as you were rewinding at the end and i got a good look at that painter girl she's the the girl from Ah-ha's Take On Me.
I just noticed that the lead singer uses little or no vibrato. It's a great choice that makes his vocal stand out.
Love this jam...This song would be good in any movie soundtrack...
I freaking love this song!!!! Those vocal harmonies..... I'm a sucker for vocal harmonies
Those high spots are so high, you feel like he's on the tip edge of not making them, but he does.
Looking good rocking and pretty as always 80s music rules my first concert in 1984 love it

This song just screams Spring Break everytime I hear it. Cruising up and down the beach down at Port A, this song was played everywhere that year.

you should do a cover
One of the BEST songs of all time. And IMPOSSIBLE to replicate because of Tony Lewis’ voice. I will never get tired of this!
Cool review.
I was lucky enough to see them in the mid-eighties... Really good musicians and a really tight band.
I would love to hear the raw clean track, before they added reverb and echo. I bet it is still clean and wonderful. He sure had pipes.
More Outfield please!!
Tony Lewis had a rare voice scale known as a contra tenor.
Love this song!
Iconic 80s Band … belong in the HOF
I WANT MY MTV!

This entire album was great
I KISSED MY FIRST GIRL TO THIS SONG
I live and breathe the Outfield. You wouldn't even believe. You should listen to all 180 songs that John wrote. ❤
Saw these guys opening for Starship. Not tickets I would have bought, but I ended up there and really enjoyed it.
One of the truly great bangers from the 80's.
I love the reaction to hearing the lead vocal fir the first time because EVERYONE has the same reaction 😂

Always said that Your Love is one of the BEST songs of the 80s right there with Bette Davis Eyes and Boys of Summer!
First time? Damn, I am old.
R.I.P. lead singer Tony Lewis (21 December 1957 - 19 October 2020)
Guitarist / songwriter John Spinks as well, 1953-2014

Great song, so fun and catchy. Love it. Great job Maggie!
Nice! The Outfield has so many great songs! They were so incredible. Now you need to do Everytime You Cry. It's my favorite.
Best reaction to this song yet!

1985... A great year for music, Live Aid, Springsteen, Phil Collins, etc.
The 80's was the greatest era with music, movies, and sports... 70's #2. 90's #3.
I’m so blessed to have grown up in the 80s!!!
It just reminds me of how i miss the 80‘s.
That whole album is great. It's called Play Deep.
The 80s were mu clubbing days
Always loved this
Would love to hear your reaction to "What do All the People Know" by the Monroes. Great one hit wonder.
PLAY DEEP and BANGIN.. The Outfield best
The Outfield were a 3 piece band. The keyboardist and 2nd guitarist were stand-ins. Producers didn't think a 3 piece band would be accepted. They must have forgotten about the Police and ZZ Top just to name a couple bands that had success.
Motörhead...
This song and some drinks at the bar always end up fun 😊
One word. Snare drum
the singer - the lead guitarist and the drummer are the band -- everyone else are stand-in for this video ...
amazing track it played at my prom as the new hit
Oh my god he has such an awesome voice... Let me talk over it some more. 😁 Just playing. Good stuff.
