  • Today, I will doing a Mustang Clutch Replacement out of my Mustang GT TR3650 Transmission. The Clutch will be Replaced by a high end disk rated at around 400HP. So, if i ever decide to modify the Mustang, the clutch replacement will definitely get the job done.
I also replace the Bell housing and trow out bearing in this job.
This should work for all SN95 Mustangs. From 1994-2004. But, i did it on the New Edge Mustang.

I know this is 3 years ago but you need to invest in easy outs and a proper tap and die set. It will help in those bolt breaking situations. Good video

I’m a full time auto mechanic and own a 2002 GT I wrench on. I replaced my beat engine mounts and you have to remove starter for passenger side and even I struggled with that bolt. It’s a pita
    Good job
Edit: don’t worry Ford techs all the time call that the “extra” starter bolt and many guys don’t put that bolt back in. You should if you can but if the other two are tight the starter is fine.

I was wondering what ya'll even were talking about! Well my "extra" bolt was missing. No wonder it was so easy 😂 It also was missing 2 bell housing bolts. Two more were barely finger tight, and the the other two were so over torqued my 450ftlb electric rattle gun wouldnt budge them. I got them out with a big ass air gun but I about rounded the heads off. But I had to order a new bolt kit anyway so no big deal. Good to know I probably don't need to worry about that starter bolt tho! This is exactly what the internet is for! 💯 Also for all the dumb people like me, you won't find a 6 sided socket that will remove your 12point drive shaft bolts without destroying them. Go buy yourself a 12 point socket or you'll be replacing those bolts as well! My git-er-done attitude often wastes both my time and my money haha😂 Ebay has all the bolts you will need cheap. Had to get used drive shaft bolts tho.

I did my clutch in high school in a tech class where we had access to a lift and was still stuck on that bolt for 2-3 hours. If I recall correctly, I used a 3ft extension and multiple wobbly sockets.

Thanks for the video. I watched a Chris fix trans removal video he has. I have no idea how he was able to get a ratcheting wrench from behind the engine bay down to the top trans bolts. I can’t even get my hand in anywhere to even reach the bolts.

Undo the lower trans mount, then snake it up there! It’s tight but possible! Wish you luck my friend!

@@AutoMotivate I think I might just get the extensions and lower it like you said.

I know all about that 3rd Bolt, it's a M EFFER... But, with a quarter inch ratchet and a 13mm socket, it will come out.

Man, that bolt was by far the worst. You forgot about patience... you need patience 😂

I looked up the torque specs on the transmission to bell housing bolts and the book I had specified 45-65 foot lbs... but I broke several bolts doing this, I'm not sure if my info is accurate, even 45 sounds extreme. May I ask where you got your specs from?

Very sorry for your loss. I have a question. Did you use 3 ton (17 in Height) or 6 ton jack stands (23 in height) to slide the transmission out?

    • @AutoMotivate
      @AutoMotivate  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Sooooo sorry for the late reply.
And thank you for your condolences.
I used 3tom jacks from harbor freight. I since then changed to 6 ton jack stands from Amazon due to the crap quality the harbor freight jack stands were.

No problem with the late response. Looking to having the 3650 redone. In the meantime change the clutch. Thanks
