I can't believe you are putting real life in front of my entertainment. So selfish! Joking of course, good luck with the opportunity, will stay tuned.

😂😂 I can’t believe myself either! Still will be getting the Jeep done by June! Plenty more videos in the series to come!

I have been wanting to make a support to mount my rear shocks to. Ever since my 8.8 swap with high clearance shock mounts, i have had trouble finding shocks with enough travel that are also short enough. And since 3 out of 4 of my bolts sheared off when I installed my lift kit, the bolts never like to stay tight. It would be a win-win.

Yeah sounds like your own custom mount up top would be your best bet. Not easy to fit long shocks on the rear of the xjs.

I'm really enjoying the videos of your build.
This isn't related to the video but if your going to run carpet in the Cherokee it's a good idea to remove the jute fiber insulation stuff that is under the carpet because it holds water forever literally forever I had a cherokee parked inside for well over a year nearly 2 years out of the weather and pulled the carpet and it was absolutely soaking wet underneath.
I like carpet and a cozy interior, what I did with mine is I bought a new carpet kit and I got an upgraded carpet kit with a thick rubber backing then I removed the stock style insulation and I used a closed cell foam insulation on the floor so if water does get into the jeep it's actually possible to dry the carpet and floors. What I would do with new carpet or the original is remove that insulation and put down the closed cell foam or at least remove the insulation and just put the carpet back. I actually did dynamat then closed cell foam on top.
Then a hard lesson I learned is like 12 years ago or so I bedlined my floors in one of my cherokees I prepped it super well and did it properly too.. then I installed carpet thinking the floors would be super protected but what actually happened is water got in and soaked that insulation and the bedliner lifted and rusted out the floors underneath it was terrible I had to replace the floor pans. I also had another vehicle without carpet that was bedlined and that had bad rust forming underneath the bedliner. So I will never use bedliner again just paint. Plus I like the paint look better anyways. But so many people use bedliner on stuff and I think it's a bad idea.

Great pointers for the floor. I want to eventually pull this carpet back up and lay down the sound deadening/heat soak mats. I’ll look into that dynamat….i don’t want to be replacing floor pans again anytime soon….😅😂
….I’m a sucker for a cleaaaan paint job, not the biggest fan of the bed liner paint jobs.

@@backcountrybeagles dynamat is the name brand stuff I think they invented it or something, a lot of people call different brands dynamat. But there's also a brand called killmat or something like that and I know I've used products from a company called second skin. It's just a sticky buytl rubber type material with a foil top. I like that the dynamat brand stuff comes in black so it looks nice if it's exposed anywhere. I put dynamat everywhere, the doors, the rear quarters, the floors, up the firewall inside. I also replaced every single piece or rubber trim and seal and the window felts all of it. I also used some sort of car audio material for a dust/moisture barrier behind the door panels. That plastic crap behind the door panels is important, when it's missing and your bombing down a dirt road you'll notice dust coming in through the doors. There's a lot of little stuff that adds up to making a completely different material experience going down the road. There's a website called team Cherokee they have many OEM or OEM replacement pieces that are hard to find. I'll link the site below.

Like I said I used a closed cell foam over the dynamat on my floors then ditched that stock style insulation. If I had to choose one thing that would be what I'd do because it doesn't hold water for literal years without drying. I used something called noico green. The brand is noico and it's their green version. The foam itself is greyish black but the adhesive is green. I covered the whole floor and did 2 layers on most parts to roughly match the original insulation thickness. There's other brands available but it must be a closed cell foam that's the waterproof stuff.
