If one person, only one person at that party had tipped off the police & given the address of the couple, Joe might still be alive & Anu would’ve been caught red-handed. This case is incredibly upsetting. This isn’t just mental illness. Everyone at that party failed Joe. I hope he’s resting well wherever he may be.

I hope other true crimeys talk about the upbringing of the victim more. Yes. It'll make us MORE sad. But it's their stories. Not just the killers 🥲 victims families have talked openly about having documentaries about their deaths only talking about killers and their upbringings. Another true crimer has vids with the families describing the victims. ❤

It's sick that she was still able to get her PHD. The university should have expelled her for what she did. The university should also be held accountable for furthering Anu's education so that she could further her career. I can't believe anyone at that party weren't held accountable. I hope she cited her own case in that thesis.

Somehow for some tragic reason, the system often protects abusive people while their victims have to just go on and pretend nothing happened or remove themselves from the area. In Sweden just the other day it said in the newspaper a doctor stabbed two people, he dragged them into his home and harmed them because he had a feud with these two neighbors. He is now under investigation to figure out if he is suitable to work as a doctor. Right off the bat you´d think they revoke his license right away, but nope! They are literally checking to see if he can still be a good doctor who should be able to see patients. Sorry but not sorry, anyone who works within the medical field wo is lacking such boundaries that they are able to stab people should not be allowed to ever have people´s medical well-being in their hands. It´s very backwards!

I think I saw a similar story on TV a few years ago. It might even be the same people. Assuming it's the same couple . . . I think Anu convinced the people who came to the party to not talk about the suicide pact . . . not a single word. They were not to speak of it. That's what I remember from that story on TV. The people who came to the party believed that Joe had consented. The truth was, he hadn't because he had no idea there was a so-called "suicide pact."
It's not that her friends were complicit in murder, but rather, that she tricked them into going along with it. The argument would have been something like . . . "Joe and I want to die . . . and Joe doesn't want to talk about it." That was one way she could have tricked them into not talking about it.

This was NOT a "suicide pact." A pact would indicate an agreement between the individuals involved. NOT between a murderer and her co-conspirators, accessories, friends, or witnesses to the plot. In this tragic case, one party was unaware and unwilling. NOT a suicide pact. Call it what it was: a murder-suicide premeditated plan. The fact that several others, well aware of laws and consequences, were in on it just makes it worse. Even if those people didn't try to stop a murder, none tried to stop her supposed impending suicide either. Great "friends" in that group should all be charged. Anu deserved life in prison for first degree murder.

I was born in Egypt in 1996 but immigrated to Australia in 1998 and I’ve NEVER heard this case despite being a “crime junkie” especially on the older cases. I always say our justice system when it comes to murder & rape the length of prison time doesn’t equate to even half of what we’d call justice being served.. 18 months is actual BS and I’m so so Sorry to Joe & his family for going through this and having this murderer walk free. Joe seems like a genuine nice, loving family man that was ready to get into his career, fresh out of uni. I’m sooooo mad everyone at the party acted sooo dumb/stupid to say silent cause I could never!!!!! There’s no joke about murder, idc! @KLee1028 ปีที่แล้ว +2

It is some kind of delusional disorder. She could have gotten help and you could/should get help if you aren’t already. It is totally irrelevant to the case. He didn’t contribute to her feeling as if she were rotting from the inside out or being convinced she had a serious illness. I cannot find it in myself to have any sympathy or compassion for her. She killed him as the ultimate form of control, that’s it. You really should get help though. It would be far less scary to deal with your thoughts if you understood the underlying issue and were able to distinguish thoughts from reality more comfortably.
