Being “nice” and being kind are two different things. Anyone can be nice: especially superficial people trying to manipulate you. It’s nothing but surface level, imitated politeness and a smile. What you want is someone who is kind: someone who genuinely cares about you as an individual and does something extra because seeing you happy makes them happy. Kindness is an eternal gift exchanged in real, loving relationships. Being a “nice gentleman” is an incels attempt at imitating kindness in order to get sex (or whatever else they feel they need from women). You can differentiate the two clearly when the nice act ends after the incels aren’t getting what they want. Most women are aware of this and avoid “nice guys” like the plague.
Fun fact from a diagnosed schizo that has been on respirodone in the past...It can cause male lactation or breast growth. Perhaps that is why he said no. I was a sophomore at UCSB when the shooting happened. The two girls that were killed, Katie and Veronika, were my sorority sisters. They were with another girl in my sorority, Bianca, who was also shot but survived. I was supposed to be with Veronika and Bianca that day but I bailed on them at the last minute. My friend was getting texts from a girl in Alpha Phi saying there were bodies outside of their house and that she thought they were in our sorority. My other friend was right across the street from the deli when shots fired and Christopher was killed. It was the scariest, most traumatic night of my life. It really messed me up. Seeing his face makes me want to throw up but I was interested to hear an outsider perspective. Thank you for recounting the events so respectfully.
I’m terribly sorry you had to endure such horror. I imagine it must traumatize you to think about what if you were with Katie and Veronika that night. I truly believe we need to study people like Elliot Rodger in order to prevent these events or at least mitigate the risks where/when they can be thwarted. It is the main reason why I started a behavioural analysis series on my channel in order to get to the root of the problem and understand, or at least attempt to ascertain, the etiology of what happened. As a side note, the fact that the media seemed to put the emphasis on Karla and Paul Bernardo, the "Ken" of that pairing, attractiveness probably didn't help with Luka's obsession and paraphilia. To him, they were celebrities.

An incel youtuber called jake davidson went on a shooting spree and killed 5 people including a 3 year old girl. His youtube videos indicate a strong hatred of women and in his final video he calls himself the terminator and goes on this huge rant. We are all in shock here in the UK.

Every time I hear one of these stories, I think of the book “A Clockwork Orange.” In the original ending, the homicidal main male characters just suddenly get board with murder and mayhem and just decide to stop and be regular up-standing citizens. They all marry beautiful women, have children, get well-paying day jobs, and even attend wine tasting parties with their neighbors. A lot of Americans didn’t like the ending because they thought it was too British and happy. From my perspective, it fills me with a deep sense of dread that I’ve never felt from a book. Those men didn’t stop killing out of remorse for the victims, or because they were reformed through the justice system. They just stopped being fun as they got older and just walked away scot-free to live happily ever after with their new families. It makes you wonder how many boring pencil pushing white men in your life did messed up and borderline illegal stuff in their youth and never got punished for any of it. Or how many women are married to former violent mentally unstable criminals.

As a UCSB grad and current SB local I can’t tell you how much to this day this breaks our hearts in Isla Vista. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. The apartment he lived in is to this day always the cheapest the rent in IV and even when walking by ppl go silent and the mood completely shifts until they pass by. Iv is such such a beautiful wonderful loving community it is so awful that something like this happened there. (Let alone at all obviously).
Hi fellow Gaucho! I was there when it all happened and it’s by far, one of the most traumatic experiences. I remember them taking the bodies out of his apartment as I was on my way to work and for a while after the killings, IV was so gloomy.

I went a few years after. but it’s crazy the effect it had I lived a street down on Pasado and I remember the story of that apartment being one of the first I heard on a night out. Even when rushing they told everyone that story and how to be careful/safe. Every year I was there the center held a memorial for the victims. And everyone would go to pray and send love. I loved the iv community so much. it really felt like a little family of my own. very very grateful for my entire college experience there. Elliot wasn’t unattractive, physically. He was not my type but I could see the physical appeal for more preppy people. However, he was not a good person. His best behavior and traits were narcissism and shallow tantrums. I don’t care what mental health issues he had. He chose not to put in the work, and he chose to make excuses to be a bad person. I did terribly with dating as a teen, even though dudes like that think it’s so easy for hits. I also knew the reason my crushes didn’t ask me out was because I was afraid to talk to them. He didn’t stop at avoiding women he found attractive. He acted like an ass to them, the first time he’d meet them. I’m sure women would recognize him and tell their friends ‘that’s the guy who threw a drink at me/belittled me for not dating him,’ so I’m sure that kept at least some women away from him. Some women, and people in general, will fall for the appealing yet false projection of run of the mill shitty partners. The problem was that Elliot could have been attractive to someone and might of had a shot at living a good life and finding love but his toxic God complex took over. It's also scary to think that there are more men out there with that mindset that if they can't find someone they have to take lives. Went through it with an ex, caught him cheating he was upset because I wasn't the only one who had caught him cheating, he ended up stalking and threatening to kill me and would tell me that he was the only one that deserved to be with me. Toxic and scary
His personality and narcissistic behavior ruined it. Had he been a decent, average person, he would have had a pretty average, if not even fulfilling life, sure. But he had this idealistic idea of life, love and dating, not to mention the way he thought he was entitled to good things, that he would have never been happy or satisfied. From what he wrote in his manifesto, it seems like there had been girls who had an interest in him but he never gave them the time of day because they didn't check all of the boxes on his list of the "perfect" girl. As people have already said, even if he would have gotten a girlfriend exactly like he had wanted, he still wouldn't have been satisfied. One time that she wouldn't have been in the mood for sex, or God forbid she had other guy friends or even tried to break up with him, he would have snapped.
What’s weird is how in the snake video in the “don’t f with cats” documentary on Netflix there was another person present. I don’t think Luka was forced into doing those repulsive and horrible things, but there is another person involved who’s still on the loose if the only person caught was Luka. My main thing was, there were three hands in that video, who was the other person?

They kind of glossed over it, it was in one of those horrible videos. Luka was trying to blame what he did on some mysterious “other” person and he pointed out how in the video with the snake when he was rubbing the snake’s belly after what had happened another hand appeared off screen and was touching the snake from a different angle showing that there was another person in the room. They mentioned it like once and then never acknowledged it again but I kept thinking about it throughout the entire docuseries and wondering why Luka was the only one arrested when in that video it showed that there was at least another person present who was involved with what was going on somehow. Try watching it again and focusing on the video with the snake, i was surprised myself that I saw it because whenever they were showing clips of videos where animals were getting harmed I would just skip over it because I know I can’t handle that sort of thing, but in that snake video I saw the hand of a separate person. Please try seeing if you can catch it too!

In the documentary they said that there was no person forcing Luka, which I think is true, Luka is a repulsive human being who did all of this of his own volition. However, there was a second person in that video! Luka did make up the story that he was being controlled, but I don’t think he was lying about the existence of someone else since the hand in that video couldn’t have been his.

I was a sophomore at UCSB when the shooting happened. The two girls that were killed, Katie and Veronika, were my sorority sisters. They were with another girl in my sorority, Bianca, who was also shot but survived. I was supposed to be with Veronika and Bianca that day but I bailed on them at the last minute. My friend was getting texts from a girl in Alpha Phi saying there were bodies outside of their house and that she thought they were in our sorority. My other friend was right across the street from the deli when shots fired and Christopher was killed. It was the scariest, most traumatic night of my life. It really messed me up. Seeing his face makes me want to throw up but I was interested to hear an outsider perspective. Thank you for recounting the events so respectfully.
I’m terribly sorry you had to endure such horror. I imagine it must traumatize you to think about what if you were with Katie and Veronika that night. I truly believe we need to study people like Elliot Rodger in order to prevent these events or at least mitigate the risks where/when they can be thwarted. It is the main reason why I started a behavioural analysis series on my channel in order to get to the root of the problem and understand, or at least attempt to ascertain, the etiology of what happened. I work in law enforcement and crisis intervention and if there’s any way I can help or if you just need an outside perspective in trying to make sense of this crazy situation, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

The "famous" person Luka said that he was having a relationship with was Karla Holmoka. Karla Holmoka and her husband tortured, assaulted, and killed 2 young women. They also drugged and assaulted her sister. That is what makes it soo messed up. He lied about dating a serial killer. She lived in Toronto and only got 12 years. She is actually free. Would actually be a great video.
the actual details of this case are even worse.. they also killed here sister and filmed it along with all the other killings. she lied to police and confessed to get a lighter sentence before trial so she only got 12 years

Oddly though--some of his friends called tip lines & gave his name to the police because he looked so much like the police sketch that had been released after some of the r*pes. His car matched too.
lukas case was absolutely heart wrenching and disgusting. the videos of his murders are terrifying.
I also think Elliot has a severe inferiority complex, probably because he's never received enough attention and love from his parents besides the fact that no one ever stood up for him. It's kind of sad if you think about it, how the lack of affection can shape a person, even leading them to do deplorable things.

I watched the documentary on Netflix and I literally cried at the videos about the animal abuse :( people who hurt animals deserve nothing but hell.
I just wanted to add that another case of this has happened yesterday in Plymouth, England. An incel youtuber called jake davidson went on a shooting spree and killed 5 people including a 3 year old girl. His youtube videos indicate a strong hatred of women and in his final video he calls himself the terminator and goes on this huge rant. We are all in shock here in the UK.

Every time I hear one of these stories, I think of the book “A Clockwork Orange.” In the original ending, the homicidal main male characters just suddenly get board with murder and mayhem and just decide to stop and be regular up-standing citizens. They all marry beautiful women, have children, get well-paying day jobs, and even attend wine tasting parties with their neighbors. A lot of Americans didn’t like the ending because they thought it was too British and happy. From my perspective, it fills me with a deep sense of dread that I’ve never felt from a book. Those men didn’t stop killing out of remorse for the victims, or because they were reformed through the justice system. They just stopped being fun as they got older and just walked away scot-free to live happily ever after with their new families. It makes you wonder how many boring pencil pushing white men in your life did messed up and borderline illegal stuff in their youth and never got punished for any of it. Or how many women are married to former violent mentally unstable criminals.
in one version of "A Clockwork Orange" (the author had two endings) he didn't get board he was drugged with an experimental treatment to find violence physically repulsive, he didn't stop out of his own free will. The whole argument the book asks is should people have free will if they will always choose to harm others. This is the same ending used in the film btw

I know some of the detectives who were on this case when it happened. Elliot did not kill because he wanted fame. He wanted to seek revenge on women because he wasnt able to get laid. here in santa barbara we call him the virgin killer.

As a UCSB grad and current SB local I can’t tell you how much to this day this breaks our hearts in Isla Vista. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. The apartment he lived in is to this day always the cheapest the rent in IV and even when walking by ppl go silent and the mood completely shifts until they pass by. Iv is such such a beautiful wonderful loving community it is so awful that something like this happened there. (Let alone at all obviously).

Hi fellow Gaucho! I was there when it all happened and it’s by far, one of the most traumatic experiences. I remember them taking the bodies out of his apartment as I was on my way to work and for a while after the killings, IV was so gloomy.

I went a few years after. but it’s crazy the effect it had I lived a street down on Pasado and I remember the story of that apartment being one of the first I heard on a night out. Even when rushing they told everyone that story and how to be careful/safe. Every year I was there the center held a memorial for the victims. And everyone would go to pray and send love. I loved the iv community so much. it really felt like a little family of my own. very very grateful for my entire college experience there. Elliot wasn’t unattractive, physically. He was not my type but I could see the physical appeal for more preppy people. However, he was not a good person. His best behavior and traits were narcissism and shallow tantrums. I don’t care what mental health issues he had. He chose not to put in the work, and he chose to make excuses to be a bad person. I did terribly with dating as a teen, even though dudes like that think it’s so easy for hits. I also knew the reason my crushes didn’t ask me out was because I was afraid to talk to them. He didn’t stop at avoiding women he found attractive. He acted like an ass to them, the first time he’d meet them. I’m sure women would recognize him and tell their friends ‘that’s the guy who threw a drink at me/belittled me for not dating him,’ so I’m sure that kept at least some women away from him. Some women, and people in general, will fall for the appealing yet false projection of run of the mill shitty partners. Especially if that shitty partner is attractive and more importantly, appears put-together both in style and in life, but like I said, Elliot’s best behavior was still appalling. If I had met him, I’d be completely unsurprised by this. He gave off real life Patric Batemen meets Norman Bates vibes in his videos.
The problem was that Elliot could have been attractive to someone and might of had a shot at living a good life and finding love but his toxic God complex took over. It's also scary to think that there are more men out there with that mindset that if they can't find someone they have to take lives. Went through it with an ex, caught him cheating he was upset because I wasn't the only one who had caught him cheating, he ended up stalking and threatening to kill me and would tell me that he was the only one that deserved to be with me. Toxic and scary
His personality and narcissistic behavior ruined it. Had he been a decent, average person, he would have had a pretty average, if not even fulfilling life, sure. But he had this idealistic idea of life, love and dating, not to mention the way he thought he was entitled to good things, that he would have never been happy or satisfied. From what he wrote in his manifesto, it seems like there had been girls who had an interest in him but he never gave them the time of day because they didn't check all of the boxes on his list of the "perfect" girl. As people have already said, even if he would have gotten a girlfriend exactly like he had wanted, he still wouldn't have been satisfied. One time that she wouldn't have been in the mood for sex, or God forbid she had other guy friends or even tried to break up with him, he would have snapped.
What’s weird is how in the snake video in the “don’t f with cats” documentary on Netflix there was another person present. I don’t think Luka was forced into doing those repulsive and horrible things, but there is another person involved who’s still on the loose if the only person caught was Luka. My main thing was, there were three hands in that video, who was the other person?
could you tell me where in the docu it says another person is involved (if you remember) i've watched it twice and i swear i don't remember someone else being involved and if thats the case thats sooo sick that there's someone out there who got away with it?
They kind of glossed over it, it was in one of those horrible videos. Luka was trying to blame what he did on some mysterious “other” person and he pointed out how in the video with the snake when he was rubbing the snake’s belly after what had happened another hand appeared off screen and was touching the snake from a different angle showing that there was another person in the room. They mentioned it like once and then never acknowledged it again but I kept thinking about it throughout the entire docuseries and wondering why Luka was the only one arrested when in that video it showed that there was at least another person present who was involved with what was going on somehow. Try watching it again and focusing on the video with the snake, i was surprised myself that I saw it because whenever they were showing clips of videos where animals were getting harmed I would just skip over it because I know I can’t handle that sort of thing, but in that snake video I saw the hand of a separate person. Please try seeing if you can catch it too!

In the documentary they said that there was no person forcing Luka, which I think is true, Luka is a repulsive human being who did all of this of his own volition. However, there was a second person in that video! Luka did make up the story that he was being controlled, but I don’t think he was lying about the existence of someone else since the hand in that video couldn’t have been his.
I’m guessing it was the owner of the snake. But yea. It’s disgusting. I won’t even do live rats for my own snakes. I use euthanized frozen rats. No need for the traumatic experience and fear of being eaten by a snake.

He was hapa and despite his apparent vanity he harbored a lot of ethnic self-hatred. He felt superior to Asians but inferior to whites and partially blamed his lack of success with women on his racial makeup. So considering only this context, being enraged when his Asian roommate had girl over is on par for the course. Although that’s not to say his extreme response to his rage was in any way appropriate or justified.
