UMI went on live and explained how the collab happened. She said there were no companies or labels involved just two artists being fans of each other's music. Tae had been listening to UMI for a while and even shared her music on his instagram. She sent him a DM, he responded, and they decided to release this indie collab on his birthday while he's away in the military. Everything about V is so precious.

I totally agree with you when you say that you never know when V might want to join in with you if he heard you sing. I didn't know anything about Umi either until V started showing us her songs on her VLives.
As an army I have to say that I'm so so so proud of him Taehyung grew up very well, even though he is a famous, rich, powerful and successful singer who broke alot of records with his album, and many great singers like Jon Batiste asked him to have a collaboration with them, but he preferred to give his first collaboration to an unknown singer. To introduce her to the world, this song was gifted to us as a surprise for Taehyung's birthday, and it had a lot of success with it. I am very happy for umi, but what makes me happier is that Our boy has no feeling of lack inside himself and is full of love 💜💜💜 bravo bts and bravo taehyung we are so proud of you

Who do you listen to bdw? Do you have any taste of music anyways? V's vocal isn't for everyone, he has the calmest voice in BTS, his album was for autumn! Feel the music and make use of it for yourself, if you are an audience! Your job is to listen! Don't like it don't listen! You're not in his company marketing! And this is coming from a JK stan!

Tae played her songs in vlive .....and she was already an army ....she said she was really nervous about approaching him for collab but her mom encouraged her and she just texted him she wanted to collab ......and V was up for it......just an organic collab no labels nothing......and V was also involved in writing....it was ft V because according to her V would not be there for promotion and stuff so shw would take care of everything and V trusted her with that ❤
Taehyung (V) & UMI decided to put this together in about 1 month just prior to his enlistment in the SK military. They did it entirely remotely. V shares writing credits on the song as well. Although the collaboration was essentially 50-50, V is a feature rather than a straight up duet, because he was unable to do any of the song's final production work or promotion due to military service. UMI stated that he told her he trusted her and left it in her hands. Fun fact: Taehyung specifically requested UMI to release the song on his birthday (12/30) as a single. Huge kudos to UMI!!! (1) She & her team worked super-hard to finish production in a very short time frame in order to grant V's request. (2) She released it during holiday song season, which was disadvantageous to her, just to grant V's request that it be released on 12/30 as a gift from him to fans.

I love Taehyung’s tone of voice, as you say it’s very unique, and I appreciate how a world famous artist gives an amazing opportunity to a independent singer to be recognized to the world, this explains how humble and honest is Taehyung about music. Umi was a fan of BTS and one day Tae recommend a Umi’s song, she with a lot of courage decided write Tae about a collaboration and he said yes 🥰🥰🥰They made this song without any agency, only two singers writing together a beautiful song. Taehyung not only has a beautiful voice, he has a beautiful heart. Thanks Justin for your reaction and for your appreciation of Taehyung voice.💜

Umi's mother saw and heard V mention Umi on his Instagram. Her mother encouraged her daughter to reach out to V, and Umi did. I'm so happy she did. I appreciate that you appreciate V's sound. I really love his music. It's not just standard "pop" music.
Lol Vs vocals are average thats the problem...he needs focus on that rather than type of music

Hi! I have a question... you know that Taehyung had a lower, deeper tone than he has now. I know he learned and practiced a lot to have new singing techniques... but could we listen to THAT voice again if he wants to make a song with it? I know that if he wants he can sing like an opera baritone because sometimes he does it as a joke... but I wonder if that tone was lost or if he just chooses to sing in the tone he has now

If you watch Ending Scene duet he did with IU on V-egin Again Palette episode or in Le Jazz de V, you will hear again his deeper baritone voice. He can sing in that voice still, but it's unclear if he will release more official songs with that baritone. Since he has a wide range and is a skilled singer, he uses that to his advantage and sings using different techniques. His natural deeper baritone is probably so easy for him though hahaha
P.S. I'm sure he will! It's just a matter of time.
