I absolutely love this game. I started this on PS4 a number of years ago, and then finished it on the PS5 with the 4k upgrade. Completely changed the game and my experience. On PS4, the controls felt clunky and the aiming was terrible. PS5 upgrade changed all of that. Definitely agree this is a slow burn, but once it catches fire about 5-6 hours in, it's absolutely incredible. Highly recommend this game.
I am very pleasantly surprised with how well optimized the game is. My rig isn't the best out there but it can run it at 1440p with over 90 fps at almost max settings I can even bump it to 4k if I lower a few settings though I don't have a 4k monitor still very nice looking.
Crazy how well games runs when they're actually optimized well, running it on a fx6300/gtx1050ti at high 30fps it looks absolutely gorgeous still, hopefully ghost of tsushima is next
Game was severely underrated IMO. It's one of my favorite PS4 (then) exclusives. I don't think a rated less than 85-90 is deserved and I personally could only see points detracted from the PS4 version due to framerate/technical issues and the annoying mandatory stealth missions. Aside from that, the presentation, gameplay, progression, story, writing/characters are all top notch.
@@alanze18 Go spam this shit somewhere else. This is about the game and praising how good it is. Take your negativity to your dirty country instead where its actual problems.
It definitely would have gotten more attention if the start wasn't so slow. I'm about 3/4ths in the story. I'm glad I got through the start. 20 hours in, and I was hooked. The characters and the story really get good once you reach the Lost Lake Camp.
I'm jus playing this on ps4 and to me it's one of the best game I've played in years. I felt really connected to the character and I felt as if I was in the game. I love love love this game 🎮 ❤️
Lmao those exclusives are only being ported to pc to try and convince pc players to buy a ps5, the sequels to those titles will never come to pc like gow Ragnarok, any future uncharted and last of us titles, ghost of tsushima sequel etc.
Nice, I very much appreciate the ultrawide on a Before You Buy. 21:9/32:9 support is always a gamble, especially near launch when coverage is so scarce.
You literally sound exactly like "TheTropher", a car reviewer here in YT, nice review you gave me the final boost that I needed to buy this game now that it has 20% discount
This game is AMAZING towards the second half, and it couldn't have been any different. I'll mention two aspects that make the game SHINE towards the end: the plot and the hordes. I can't get into details of the plot cause I don't want to spoil it, but obviously the story doesn't start engaging. First you have to get to know the characters, create meaningful connections with them, learn their motivations, etc. Most stories are like this anyways. When it does pick up, it gets very interesting and thrilling. The HORDES though... gotta be the best, most original, and fun (gameplay wise) aspect of the game. It's what makes it different from "just any" open world game. And the thing is: it wouldn't have worked if they made it something accessible from the beggining. The whole point is, you only get strong (and well equiped) enough to fight a horde after a while. You can encounter them early on, and even try to take em out, but you will fail miserably. When you DO get the equipment and abilities necessary to take them on, it "makes sense" that you can take them out. It doesn't feel like a forced, artificial strength. I'm telling you, the feeling of progression in this game is amazing.
I really enjoyed this game. It was a shame that the reviews for the ps4 launch were so bad. Nevertheless i played the game day one on the ps4.... man man man we’re they wrong!! This game was amazing and imo One of the best games for the ps4 cycle and one of my top 5 games ever. The story was amazing and in combination with the bond that formed with the characters made this game even better. And the open world was simply amazing. I really liked to just ride and hunt the hordes or just scavenge some loot and to just enjoin the scenery. It was a very exciting game and the freakers/zombies made it one hell of an experience . I really envy you pc players that you still have this amazing game to play! Enjoy it and form your own opinion!! That’s the lesson i learned after playing this game.
I came to this game from Far Cry 5 and it felt so MUCH like a FC game to me. Everything is there - open world, clearing out camps, similar weapon wheel, skinning animals, enemy tagging, bonfire smoke in the distance. To me it is Far Cry Oregon (with zombies). Looks great, hate the cutscenes but we can skip those. I'm enjoying it.
I can totally imagine how great this game is on PC. I had so much fun playing this on my PS4 Pro before, that it was the only game I was able to get a platinum award on. But there's just no reason for me to pick up the title now. Maybe on a sale, after a year or so. Wishlisted for now.
I feel like Jake is a big fan of the pc, he's also a fan of consoles, but whilst consoles are made to be accessible, if you can afford it, pc's can look insanely good
I played this game after it was out for awhile so they fixed some of their issues. I absolutely loved it. The story was fantastic and it’s definitely worth playing.
Just finished the main story, 70h in. One of the best characthers in video game - "Deek" or Deacon St. John. Story was so good! And the environment..... Wow! So pretty visuals!
I usually watch before you buy for advice. I watched your review about this game years ago when it released and your video is the reason why I didn’t play it. And now that I actually tried it, I found it extremely entertaining. Not like far cry 6 or those tedious open world games. The way they structured the open world on this game was brillant because even the side quests feel like it’s part of the main story. It’s unfortunate that this game will not have a sequel because of how it was received when it was released. Shame.
After watching this, I finally decided to give this game a try, since it's on PC. And WOW! I can not BELIEVE I stayed away from this when it first came out. I LOVE this game. Just finished it. Would recommend to anyone. Really lots of fun!
Played it for free on ps5 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I always do the extras and side missions in open world games and try to go for platinum. Getting platinum for this game very enjoyable and worth it to see the secret ending (which doesn't require the platinum but I think you have to do all missions)
This game is extremely underrated. Take your time with it, it's a very long game (admittedly a little too long), but explore, do the quests, watch the cut scenes, tempt fate with hordes. it's very fun. For a game of this size it's quite amazing how great the production value was, though typical from a Sony exclusive.
I like the taking your time aspect and doing side missions, collecting things etc. I spent over 80 hours on Horizon Zero Dawn when I got it on Steam and still haven't finished the DLC. I've only played Days Gone for a couple of hours now but am taking my time with it.
@@TerraWare Yep HZD was brilliant too, i've not experienced it on PC, but on PS4 Pro I went exploring right from the beginning, finding and taking on my first thunder jaw at a very low level made for some heart pounding moments.
Ok don't give me any looks but when it gets to the end of the video and the audio plays my mind dived straight into the gutter and immediately thought, "if I wasn't watching this it could be mistaken for porn"
Your mind isn't in the gutter my friend, its precisely what it sounds like. The moans don't do it any justice either as I was in the car with my dad and it did obvious wonders for our relationship.
They did a good job projecting Deek's emotions in cut scenes. I also enjoy the game play sneaking into the enemy camp and taking them all out with a knife.
it wasn’t in my radar for PC games at all until I saw this footage. This game is seriously pretty. I hope this trend of PS4 exclusives coming to PC continues (mostly for bloodborne)
This convinced me! Bought it. Thank you very much! Since Cyberpunk I didn't trust a Triple A and I knew this game wasn't so great on the PlayStation too. But you sound enthusiastic! ;)
Couldn't recommend it enough, the start is pretty slow, but after around 5 hours the game becomes incredibly fun and addicting.
Damn after 5 hours, sounds like a tv series with a slow start. Super slow at first but if you hang in there it's worth it
5 hours kinda long bro

3 years later and this game is flooding some game pages on fb for some reason. Looks like it made a surprise comeback. Just ordered it myself.
This game is great. I can’t believe it had many negative reviews on release. I never had a problem with the supposed bugs and always thought it was really fun with an intriguing story line. Highly recommend
it's because of bugs and lag but after the update the game is enjoyable
I’ve resumed playing this on my PS4 after dropping it for a long time and I’m mad that I sat on it for so long without finishing. Solid game IMO. I’d get the PC version after the price drops.
haha, me too, still have not finish it because I don't enjoy playing with controller. Now it is on PC I would buy this again when the price drop just for a better experience to use the kbm function.
@@sola4393 The game is available on Fitgirl for free
Is the ridiculous FPS stutters fixed?
Days gone is by all means worth the purchase, has a good long story full of side quests. The horde killer side quests are by far the best mechanic ive seen in a game in ages.
Yall should've chose a different audio for the ending lol hard to explain this to my in laws 😂

Bruh, thank god that i use a headset 🤣

Just eating lunch watching videos on video games. Honest. Haha.
Wtf 😂😂😂
Was so so so happily and unexpectedly sucked into how good this game is. Loved every moment till the last horde killed.
Such a fantastic game. Really hope a sequel eventually gets approved.
This game was far better than the mainstream gaming press led you to believe when it released. Have fun.
Not really it was really boring.
I agree. But it’s not that great of a game tbh. Better than the gaming press were butthurt about though.
@@ameetfaisal8723 I had to force myself to finish this game. It's quite dreadful to play honestly
It's very mediocre...... Sold my ps4 copy pretty fast, never finished it
I actually liked this game
The hoard is definitely the highlight of the game
Which horde? Sawmill or one of the other 44 hordes?
Does the zombies still spawn from nowhere?
@ZayedG Haroon i feel it too 😢
I really like the widescreen format, think you guys should try to shot more videos in this format, it's pretty cool and doesn't melt my eyes so much when the screen burns white
Dude this is the first ever video I have seen on youtube that display 3440x1440 ultrawide in the correct aspect ratio, no damn black bars! Goooood job! Please make it permanent ! :D

One of the best games I've played and I've played 1000s since the 80s
With it now on PC, I really hope this game gets the second chance in the limelight it truly deserves. Been playing it on PS5 and it's been simply amazing
At 1:43 we get Deacon murdering then trash talking a child. 10/10
0:33 love the freakers head coming off and landing on the ground but he still has a head on his shoulders remarkably 😆
I am very pleasantly surprised with how well optimized the game is. My rig isn't the best out there but it can run it at 1440p with over 90 fps at almost max settings I can even bump it to 4k if I lower a few settings though I don't have a 4k monitor still very nice looking.
Loving the ultrawide! Would love to see this more often!
the moment i needed this video it dropped
4h early in my case
Bro me too
Crazy how well games runs when they're actually optimized well, running it on a fx6300/gtx1050ti at high 30fps it looks absolutely gorgeous still, hopefully ghost of tsushima is next
This is one of the best games ever made. Personal favorite.
Its a damn shame the sequel isn't being made, I was waiting to see what the "freakers" did next and after that ending!!!
Such an underrated game. 💯
it's not underrated at all, it's typical open world game, nothing new at all, it's just a decent game.

I loved this game. The full ending gave me the chills. Knowing there wont be a sequel makes my heart ache.

Once Sony puts God of War and Ghost of Tsuchima on PC. It's over
@@karltee7862 Over for Sony maybe lol

In a short way, it's a crime we wont get a sequel, one of my favorite games of all time
This game is AMAZING towards the second half, and it couldn't have been any different.
I'll mention two aspects that make the game SHINE towards the end:
the plot and the hordes.
Agree. The game is great!
Will we also get a before you buy for the new subnautica? Love the series!
The first game made me fear the sea 😅 Great game though
@@xavierabii548 buy it. It’s like the first with a lot of quality of life improvements and more to explore
This is honestly the best looking video I have ever seen on TH-cam.
Finally, something to watch that covers my whole screen, thank you
Days gone and Dying light are my go-to zombie games. Just a lot of fun.
Boy nothing compares to DL. That game was a blast in every single way
The game is so optimized man ❤️
I can totally imagine how great this game is on PC. I had so much fun playing this on my PS4 Pro before, that it was the only game I was able to get a platinum award on. But there's just no reason for me to pick up the title now. Maybe on a sale, after a year or so. Wishlisted for now.
omg thank you for posting this in 21:9
I feel like Jake is a big fan of the pc, he's also a fan of consoles, but whilst consoles are made to be accessible, if you can afford it, pc's can look insanely good
I was thinking of buying this for PS4 a few months ago (before PC was announced)
Honestly, kind of glad I waited now
I played this game after it was out for awhile so they fixed some of their issues. I absolutely loved it. The story was fantastic and it’s definitely worth playing.
Just finished the main story, 70h in. One of the best characthers in video game - "Deek" or Deacon St. John. Story was so good! And the environment..... Wow! So pretty visuals!
I highly recommend this game. I had a blast with it. The game on survival is incredible.
I'm just here to hear Jake say 'days gahn" a bunch.
Wow the first time a video has ever filled my entire screen. Magical
Shame.
You do not know how good this looks, it's actually unreal
I have it on ps5 and now my high end pc and it looks so much better on my pc , awesome !!
After watching this, I finally decided to give this game a try, since it's on PC. And WOW! I can not BELIEVE I stayed away from this when it first came out. I LOVE this game. Just finished it. Would recommend to anyone. Really lots of fun!
Ripping through hordes is definitely the highlight of this game
I was wondering why the video looked so good. The ultra wide is gorgeous
1:25 ya gotta use the knife to open the trunk when the window's already smashed lol.
Played it for free on ps5 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I always do the extras and side missions in open world games and try to go for platinum. Getting platinum for this game very enjoyable and worth it to see the secret ending (which doesn't require the platinum but I think you have to do all missions)
Cant wait to play this at 3840x1600.... love that you guys uploaded in widescreen!
