I like it for the most part except when I coasted then smash the gas, it would slow the bike down then speed up. I just finished the game yesterday on the PS5 and that was my biggest complaint about the game. I loved the game though. More people need to show it support so maybe we can get a sequel in the future.
I love this game. Bought it at full price. This is absolutely my favorite Playstation Exclusive game. Didn't care for the bugs and lags at the beginning before the update. Compelling storyline. Environment is stunning. And the sound effects is awsome. Playing this on 75 " tv with a home theater makes the experience worth Wild. I am very disappointed at Sony for not giving the green light for a sequel due to the ratings 😕. This game deserves more attention and well deserved Sequel.

Freaking same. Just finished unlocking the whole map, got it with PS+, and this game feels like it was made for me. But I wish there were dialogue options. Becauae the way the characters (mainly Deek) behave gets on my nerves, but honestly I've got that problem with most narative driven games it seems.
Great game, would be interesting to see a sequel as a launch title for Playstation VI or later. Hordes, open-world exploration, decent worldbuilding and combat are all features that a wide variety of gamers enjoy, and it seems that a lot of gamers really enjoyed Days Gone. If a system had even more power than the PS5 I think we could see some really neat stuff, shooting millions of Freakers from a NERO chopper comes to mind. I have a feeling the recent PC release is meant to give Sony and the other higher-ups an idea how popular the game really is/was to decide to one day reenter the world of Days Gone. Fingers crossed, the story and gameplay was extremely enjoyable and I would love to see more of Deacon St. John.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but from journalists at 'DenOfGeek' : "Recently, Days Gone writer/co-director John Garvin suggested that part of the reason why Days Gone may not get a sequel is that not enough gamers bought the original title at full price.... The report indicated that Days Gone developer Bend Studio tried to pitch a sequel to Sony but that the pitch was shot down"

He’s completely right in his assumption with the timeline for new generation PlayStations: Feb 2013 PS4 announcement, April 2019 PS5 announcement. If there was to be a sequel to Days Gone, it would 100% be released on PS6 since the game isn’t even being developed and right now the PS6 is certainly in development by Sony. It may not be near completion but it’s in development for certain.

Framerate especiall chugged often but it runs really well on both the PS5 and now the PC I assume. It's a pretty dope game though definitely worth playing. Pretty much as long as you don't play it on a PS4 you're good.
@@Fiorezy I played it a month ago when it was free for PS+ users on the original PS4 and it ran fine. There were time where I did lose some framerates but nothing gamebreaking and my PS4 is around 7 years old now, so it's reasonable I guess. Overall, I think this is a really underrated game, the horde encounters are the standout. Probably the best zombie mechanics of any zombie game I've played yet (and I've played a lot of them). The first time you come across a horde, you're most likely going to shit yourself. I'd highly recommend it if you think of buying it, especially on PC where you'll have 60 fps.
@@kamyar9782 Definitely agree with everything you said, especially the horde part. The first time I accidentally encountered a horde during a mission near the Hot Springs camp I shat my pants.
This made me think that you could maybe do another video about games which you were maybe thought were a bit "meh" when they released, but you ended up warming to a lot more over time... either as a result of just more time in the world, or genre fatigue, or even because of bug fixes. I'm sure we can all think of a handful of games that we were not keen on, but ended up coming back to a year or two later and loved them.
So underrated. Pick this up if you haven't, one of few games I actually had fun 100 percenting, if I could give any advice, its stick with it. The good stuff doesn't come in till a while Into the game, but definitely worth it.

This game caught me by surprise on the playstation, installed it for free on the PS5 and it blew me away, one of the best games I've played in the past couple of years. Such a shame it didn't get the green light for a sequel
I got the game on the PS5, and let me tell you, it is one of my all-time favorite games. I essentially 100% the game (didn't get to a few hordes) but I could not stop playing. Interacting with the world as Deacon St. John and his relationships with other people are what made the game. 10/10
Its good and fun with some awesome moments. & worth playing. The hordes & bike are awesome gameplay elements that this game brings to the table. But I’m super puzzled when people say that its one of their favorite games/one of the best games ever. Like its a huge step back in so many ways when it comes to open world games in the same vein

I am very pleasantly surprised with how well optimized the game is. My rig isn't the best out there but it can run it at 1440p with over 90 fps at almost max settings I can even bump it to 4k if I lower a few settings though I don't have a 4k monitor still very nice looking.
Been playin this on Ps5 the last 3 weeks, i absolutely love this. I went back 4 years to the original before you buy and its a totally different take on it.
I will absolutely agree that the progression with the guns is terrible. But I was interested in everything else, once you get the motorcycle and you don't have to run everywhere I think it gets going.
Nice, I very much appreciate the ultrawide on a Before You Buy. 21:9/32:9 support is always a gamble, especially near launch when coverage is so scarce.
As a person with an ultrawide I really appreciate that the video is in ultra wide even though I know only a fraction of your viewer base probably has one.
With it now on PC, I really hope this game gets the second chance in the limelight it truly deserves. Been playing it on PS5 and it's been simply amazing
This game is great. I can’t believe it had many negative reviews on release. I never had a problem with the supposed bugs and always thought it was really fun with an intriguing story line. Highly recommend
I’ve resumed playing this on my PS4 after dropping it for a long time and I’m mad that I sat on it for so long without finishing. Solid game IMO. I’d get the PC version after the price drops.

Crazy how well games runs when they're actually optimized well, running it on a fx6300/gtx1050ti at high 30fps it looks absolutely gorgeous still, hopefully ghost of tsushima is next
I absolutely love this game. I started this on PS4 a number of years ago, and then finished it on the PS5 with the 4k upgrade. Completely changed the game and my experience. On PS4, the controls felt clunky and the aiming was terrible. PS5 upgrade changed all of that. Definitely agree this is a slow burn, but once it catches fire about 5-6 hours in, it's absolutely incredible. Highly recommend this game.

Lmao those exclusives are only being ported to pc to try and convince pc players to buy a ps5, the sequels to those titles will never come to pc like gow Ragnarok, any future uncharted and last of us titles, ghost of tsushima sequel etc.
I played this game after it was out for awhile so they fixed some of their issues. I absolutely loved it. The story was fantastic and it’s definitely worth playing.
Days gone is by all means worth the purchase, has a good long story full of side quests. The horde killer side quests are by far the best mechanic ive seen in a game in ages.
It definitely would have gotten more attention if the start wasn't so slow. I'm about 3/4ths in the story. I'm glad I got through the start. 20 hours in, and I was hooked. The characters and the story really get good once you reach the Lost Lake Camp.

Game was severely underrated IMO. It's one of my favorite PS4 (then) exclusives. I don't think a rated less than 85-90 is deserved and I personally could only see points detracted from the PS4 version due to framerate/technical issues and the annoying mandatory stealth missions. Aside from that, the presentation, gameplay, progression, story, writing/characters are all top notch.
I'm jus playing this on ps4 and to me it's one of the best game I've played in years. I felt really connected to the character and I felt as if I was in the game. I love love love this game 🎮 ❤️
Played it for free on ps5 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I always do the extras and side missions in open world games and try to go for platinum. Getting platinum for this game very enjoyable and worth it to see the secret ending (which doesn't require the platinum but I think you have to do all missions)

I can totally imagine how great this game is on PC. I had so much fun playing this on my PS4 Pro before, that it was the only game I was able to get a platinum award on. But there's just no reason for me to pick up the title now. Maybe on a sale, after a year or so. Wishlisted for now.
This game is AMAZING towards the second half, and it couldn't have been any different. I'll mention two aspects that make the game SHINE towards the end: the plot and the hordes. I can't get into details of the plot cause I don't want to spoil it, but obviously the story doesn't start engaging. First you have to get to know the characters, create meaningful connections with them, learn their motivations, etc. Most stories are like this anyways. When it does pick up, it gets very interesting and thrilling. The HORDES though... gotta be the best, most original, and fun (gameplay wise) aspect of the game. It's what makes it different from "just any" open world game. And the thing is: it wouldn't have worked if they made it something accessible from the beggining. The whole point is, you only get strong (and well equiped) enough to fight a horde after a while. You can encounter them early on, and even try to take em out, but you will fail miserably. When you DO get the equipment and abilities necessary to take them on, it "makes sense" that you can take them out. It doesn't feel like a forced, artificial strength. I'm telling you, the feeling of progression in this game is amazing.

I feel like Jake is a big fan of the pc, he's also a fan of consoles, but whilst consoles are made to be accessible, if you can afford it, pc's can look insanely good
I really enjoyed this game. It was a shame that the reviews for the ps4 launch were so bad. Nevertheless i played the game day one on the ps4.... man man man we’re they wrong!! This game was amazing and imo One of the best games for the ps4 cycle and one of my top 5 games ever. The story was amazing and in combination with the bond that formed with the characters made this game even better. And the open world was simply amazing. I really liked to just ride and hunt the hordes or just scavenge some loot and to just enjoin the scenery. It was a very exciting game and the freakers/zombies made it one hell of an experience . I really envy you pc players that you still have this amazing game to play! Enjoy it and form your own opinion!! That’s the lesson i learned after playing this game.
Bought it yesterday and so far its great. Im also amazed by the great support for 21:9 and 32:9 monitors. Its much better than most PC exclusive games.

I usually watch before you buy for advice. I watched your review about this game years ago when it released and your video is the reason why I didn’t play it. And now that I actually tried it, I found it extremely entertaining. Not like far cry 6 or those tedious open world games. The way they structured the open world on this game was brillant because even the side quests feel like it’s part of the main story. It’s unfortunate that this game will not have a sequel because of how it was received when it was released. Shame.

The coasting when you run out of gas or to save gas was a really neat feature. It was the most satisfying feeling bike in any game I've played.

65 hours in so far and absolutely loving it, awesome game, great story and excellent performances from the voice actors. Very highly recommended

The last 20 hours of this game are some of the most fun I've had in a zombie game. The first 20 hours are some of the least.

Truth. Even on the hardest setting... I could handle worse. But getting through the story makes me want to jump out the window.

Nice, I very much appreciate the ultrawide on a Before You Buy. 21:9/32:9 support is always a gamble, especially near launch when coverage is so scarce.
As a person with an ultrawide I really appreciate that the video is in ultra wide even though I know only a fraction of your viewer base probably has one.
Those of us with super-ultrawides are even smaller lol, never even get mentioned...
I use an ultra wide myself and everytime I see videos like this it makes me smile :)

This game is great. I can’t believe it had many negative reviews on release. I never had a problem with the supposed bugs and always thought it was really fun with an intriguing story line. Highly recommend
it's because of bugs and lag but after the update the game is enjoyable
I’ve resumed playing this on my PS4 after dropping it for a long time and I’m mad that I sat on it for so long without finishing. Solid game IMO. I’d get the PC version after the price drops.
haha, me too, still have not finish it because I don't enjoy playing with controller. Now it is on PC I would buy this again when the price drop just for a better experience to use the kbm function.

First game I ever platinumed. Fell in love with the story characters and hordes of zombies. I love this game so sad there will not be a sequel. The ending left me shocked lol

The reveals about the freaker at the end were really something. You HAVE to keep playing after the credits roll.

Crazy how well games runs when they're actually optimized well, running it on a fx6300/gtx1050ti at high 30fps it looks absolutely gorgeous still, hopefully ghost of tsushima is next

I absolutely love this game. I started this on PS4 a number of years ago, and then finished it on the PS5 with the 4k upgrade. Completely changed the game and my experience. On PS4, the controls felt clunky and the aiming was terrible. PS5 upgrade changed all of that.
Definitely agree this is a slow burn, but once it catches fire about 5-6 hours in, it's absolutely incredible. Highly recommend this game.

Lmao those exclusives are only being ported to pc to try and convince pc players to buy a ps5, the sequels to those titles will never come to pc like gow Ragnarok, any future uncharted and last of us titles, ghost of tsushima sequel etc.

I loved this game. The full ending gave me the chills. Knowing there wont be a sequel makes my heart ache.
I played this game after it was out for awhile so they fixed some of their issues. I absolutely loved it. The story was fantastic and it’s definitely worth playing.
Days gone is by all means worth the purchase, has a good long story full of side quests. The horde killer side quests are by far the best mechanic ive seen in a game in ages.
It definitely would have gotten more attention if the start wasn't so slow. I'm about 3/4ths in the story. I'm glad I got through the start. 20 hours in, and I was hooked. The characters and the story really get good once you reach the Lost Lake Camp.

Game was severely underrated IMO. It's one of my favorite PS4 (then) exclusives. I don't think a rated less than 85-90 is deserved and I personally could only see points detracted from the PS4 version due to framerate/technical issues and the annoying mandatory stealth missions. Aside from that, the presentation, gameplay, progression, story, writing/characters are all top notch.
I'm jus playing this on ps4 and to me it's one of the best game I've played in years. I felt really connected to the character and I felt as if I was in the game. I love love love this game 🎮 ❤️

Played it for free on ps5 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I always do the extras and side missions in open world games and try to go for platinum. Getting platinum for this game very enjoyable and worth it to see the secret ending (which doesn't require the platinum but I think you have to do all missions)

Was so so so happily and unexpectedly sucked into how good this game is. Loved every moment till the last horde killed.
I can totally imagine how great this game is on PC. I had so much fun playing this on my PS4 Pro before, that it was the only game I was able to get a platinum award on. But there's just no reason for me to pick up the title now. Maybe on a sale, after a year or so. Wishlisted for now.
Its a damn shame the sequel isn't being made, I was waiting to see what the "freakers" did next and after that ending!!!

This game is AMAZING towards the second half, and it couldn't have been any different.
I'll mention two aspects that make the game SHINE towards the end:
the plot and the hordes.
I can't get into details of the plot cause I don't want to spoil it, but obviously the story doesn't start engaging. First you have to get to know the characters, create meaningful connections with them, learn their motivations, etc. Most stories are like this anyways. When it does pick up, it gets very interesting and thrilling.
The HORDES though... gotta be the best, most original, and fun (gameplay wise) aspect of the game. It's what makes it different from "just any" open world game. And the thing is: it wouldn't have worked if they made it something accessible from the beggining. The whole point is, you only get strong (and well equiped) enough to fight a horde after a while. You can encounter them early on, and even try to take em out, but you will fail miserably. When you DO get the equipment and abilities necessary to take them on, it "makes sense" that you can take them out. It doesn't feel like a forced, artificial strength. I'm telling you, the feeling of progression in this game is amazing.
Days gone and Dying light are my go-to zombie games. Just a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed this game. It was a shame that the reviews for the ps4 launch were so bad. Nevertheless i played the game day one on the ps4.... man man man we’re they wrong!! This game was amazing and imo One of the best games for the ps4 cycle and one of my top 5 games ever. The story was amazing and in combination with the bond that formed with the characters made this game even better. And the open world was simply amazing. I really liked to just ride and hunt the hordes or just scavenge some loot and to just enjoin the scenery. It was a very exciting game and the freakers/zombies made it one hell of an experience . I really envy you pc players that you still have this amazing game to play! Enjoy it and form your own opinion!! That’s the lesson i learned after playing this game.

This is one of my favourite games of all time, will admit it does have a slow start but hang in there and it’s a great game, gutted to hear there’s not gonna be a sequel
I usually watch before you buy for advice. I watched your review about this game years ago when it released and your video is the reason why I didn’t play it. And now that I actually tried it, I found it extremely entertaining. Not like far cry 6 or those tedious open world games. The way they structured the open world on this game was brillant because even the side quests feel like it’s part of the main story. It’s unfortunate that this game will not have a sequel because of how it was received when it was released. Shame.

Being from central OR, this game is very special to me, played so many play throughs.
In a short way, it's a crime we wont get a sequel, one of my favorite games of all time
