    It's 2021 and your videos are still ace, thanks for making these. I had this skill along with fowler's positioning and taking weight (got super lucky) and passed this week :) was terrified and nervous the entire time but I passed. Thank you!

    This was one of my skills along with lateral laying and PPE, thank you so much for these tutorials! If you’re in California I would recommend changing water after cleaning under the nails per the ARC handbook. YOU HELPED ME SOOOOO MUCH, thank you 🙏

      did you pass the first time? im just a little nervous. and also do you have to wear gloves every single time you touch the resident? for example: for putting the resident in fowlers position ?

    • @essencelebby
      @essencelebby 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I didn’t pass the first time, the first time I had shaving, PPE and ROM. I failed because the ARC nurse said my back was showing after putting on PPE...I was so devastated. I was wearing PPE so I didn’t change my gloves during turning the patient because that would contaminate me.

    Hi Christine! I passed my test last May 7th. I just wanted to thank you for your videos, it really helped me a LOT! I got this skill and followed all the step by step in this video and my Evaluator said I did an excellent job. Thank you so much again!

    It says to change the water after cuticles, etc , rinse the resident's hands, dry hands , and then to trim the fingernails (for ARC test in CA), so it's little bit different. But guys, thank you so much for explaining everything in a way that I could understand the details , you are amazing !!! Great talent of teaching others

    I like the way she explains the process infact in all the videos I have been seeing I found this is explain,only what am getting confused of is the side rails.We have been told its purpose to be ordered by the doctor for all side rails to be up,otherwise at all time they should be down.

    Christine I want to thank you for all the videos you post on your channel. They’re very helpful. I’ve got this skill for my state test and I’ve passed. God bless you. I’m in California.

      prtnst yes same exact thing. You’ll pass, use her videos as reference

      @prtnst 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@edgarmeza9195 ok cool! My class was taught a different way and then all of a sudden we were told about the Red Cross way. I showed them these videos and my classmates were looking at me funny. But I know Sac Med does it correctly. Thanks! I will binge watch Christine

    • @prtnst
      @prtnst 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, what skills did you get? On Occupied bed the packet says to leave top sheet in place, but Christine uses a bath blanket and removes top sheet. Did you use the same amount of gloves as she did?

    • @edgarmeza9195
      @edgarmeza9195 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      prtnst you need to make sure you do it the Res Cross way. These videos follow their criteria.

      i had this skill when i first took it at ARC Sacramento. i passed this one, did everything like what's on the video. i also got position the resident in lateral and passed it, but i failed on the weight :(
      took my 2nd one in ARC Sacramento, got the lateral position again and did the exact same verbalizations and performed it but they failed me again. I don't know how and why, when i actually did all the failed steps they mentioned. I'm so disappointed. So i'm taking it the 3rd time in San Jose instead. Wish me luck

    how do you wipe off the orange stick after each cuticle if there is a washcloth/cotton on it...? do you have to change the washcloth/cotton each time? I know no one will get around to answering this before my test but its just a thought; Red Cross does not specify (as they tend not to do anyway).

    Going to my class im a couple of weeks and im watching these to sort of study. I was wondering, when you ask the resident if it is okay that you assist them and they say no what would you do next? Not for exam purposes just my own curiosity really

    Quick question... Some times at the end of a skill, the ride rails or both up and something one is down and one is up. Why is this? Thank you!

    • @CuddlyJon
      @CuddlyJon 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In real facilities, sometimes residents have an order for leaving one side rail up and one side rail down. When you perform the skill, your best bet is to have both up. However, you should verbalize that you would check the doctors order for side rails.
