    I ordered this and honestly can't wait. I know a lot of people will say the screen size is too small but honestly it looks just right for me. And while I understand the pricing is more than the Ally, to me the OLED screen, form factor, and Hall based controls more than justify the asking price (at least the early bird price).

      Trust me when i tell you that these handheld sizes are getting out of control. They don't feel portable anymore and the Air 1S is in my opinion the example to follow. Most of the Nintendo community agrees that an OLED Lite would be the ultimate portable console because of that same reason we had them when we were kids. So we can shove it in the pocket and take it everywhere without the need of giant carry cases or even backpacks.

      If you don't mind the size of the switch lite screen or find that screen size just fine, you'll be very happy with this device. I just sold my Air Pro to upgrade to this and I was super happy with that device once I had it set up just right 🎉

      5.5 is a bit small and i'd rather have a 6 inch screen. But, at least it seems comfortable to hold. I have a Max 2 and it's a pain to play with it.

    I'll stick with the Steam Deck. This is a fantastic device, but at $800 for the entry level at the Early Bird price, I think I'll stick with a device that's been road tested a bit. AyaNeo kindof turned into OnePlus in a way - they started out with budget-friendly devices in this space, but have somehow become the premium player. Great devices, but a bit out of my comfort zone. I do love that more companies are putting out devices that are around the size of a Switch Lite, though.

    • @ShadyRapture
      @ShadyRapture ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steam makes money off the software. They sell the decks at a loss lol. All these other companies aren’t charging too much, they’re charging the accurate price. Asus can afford to undercut them because of their ties in the hardware industry. It’s not that you’re overpaying for these, the steam deck and rog ally are insane deals because the companies can afford it.

    • @NeonPixels81
      @NeonPixels81 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ShadyRapture Where did I say anyone was overpaying? I don’t care what the “accurate” cost should be, $800 to play games on the go for a couple of hours just isn’t as good a value as $400 to play games on the go for a couple of hours. If people want to spend that much then more power to them and they have my blessing and support from here till the second coming, but for me that’s just not economical.

  • @sadiqraga3451
    @sadiqraga3451 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The smaller size and less bulk is a selling point for me but I wish the screen is larger.
    Hoping for flexible screen tech become mature and allow a handheld screen to be expanded when gaming.

  • @seeibe
    @seeibe ปีที่แล้ว +8

    For me the main barrier these smaller devices have to breach is to match the Steam Deck at 8-10W TDP. If I have to be constantly near a charger or power bank anyway, may as well go with a larger device. For something "ultra-portable" I'd at least expect Steam Deck power efficiency, as let's be real, even that is not that great compared to traditional handhelds.

      If there is ever a 7640U model, that might come close. 6 CPU cores and 8 GPU CUs should help with low-end power draw.

      @lmperioz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The new Air Plus 7320u model at a little under $400 (I managed to snag it for $269 on early bird) has crazy performance at 6w. you only get about 20% improvement going from 6w to 15w. I'm not sure it beats the steam deck, but it's got a way bigger battery and you can get 5-6 hours of older games, indie games, gamecube, ps2, most switch games at 6w. also has a MUCH nicer screen, way smaller and better looking, hall sensor joysticks, very premium build quality. steam deck wins in high watt performance, speakers, and community support

  • @yatobjection
    @yatobjection ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I had the AOKZOE A1 but at that time I did not care about the weight and at the end this is now for me the most important aspect for a handheld. I just pre order the ultra thin edition at 405g for almost 1000$ but the weight justify the price for me. No other company are doing 400g weight except Nintendo with their Switch.

    • @memo29b
      @memo29b ปีที่แล้ว

    • @yatobjection
      @yatobjection ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@memo29b Yes I am, but I'm more concerned with the weight. On the go I would take an external battery if needed but usually on train or plane you can charge. This version definitely tickles my feathers a lot and as much. I really want to make the plunge, but the fact it's only an indiegogo product still holds me back, since I've never purchased from there and I know they don't handling taxes. The biggest draws for me were, not only the APU, but the size/form factor. Noticed during my travels if I'd like a powerful handheld to carry with anything bigger than the switch (normal size) would just be too big for me, and both the steam deck and ROG Ally are.

    The original AIR models released 11 months ago. We now have 3 revisions in that time, I get they're a smaller outfit but good god man that's way too much. And don't get me started on the SKUs, some of these don't make sense for what they're going to do.
    Why is there a 32GB RAM model in the first place? to reduce cost of the others maybe but realistically, this isn't going to be doing workloads that require that much RAM. And the Thin SKU seems redundant at the thickness of the Thicker model.
    Make fewer SKUs that fill their roles instead of over complicating the line. i'd love to see how many Thin - Thick units are sold when the next one comes around.

    Love the size and look of the Air line, as always. While I will probably be sticking to the Steam Deck for a while, I absolutely know people personally who hate the design and size of the Steam Deck and would kill for something smaller and prettier like this. I hope Ayaneo comes out with more budget-minded variants soon, maybe 6600U or 7640U models. Or, at the very least, sell the old 5560U for cheaper...

    GPD WIN 4 is the best with it's raisable screen. Steam decks thumbsticks being at the top means you're holding the top of the unit which means the screen is stupidly low and your neck pays for it.

  • @tomoprime217

    A tiny battery with a 5.5" screen kills it for me. All the recent Ayaneo videos I've seen in the states have many complaints about Aya space not working. Cases cracking with paint pealing. The front surface getting so hot that the ips develops major light bleed over time. Several other issues with buggy crashes and most reviewers saying to stay away. I've heard really good things about the 7840u GPD Win4 being the best performer out of all of them. Although it's ergonomics, analog sticks leaves a lot to be desired. The only reason I'd be leaning towards an Ally is that the VRR screen hides any framerate issues for screen tearing so the experience looks smooth regardless of how the competition puts up higher frames. I like the dual fan cooling system. I hate that there is a big SD card reader issue. It seems I can't trust any handheld but the steamdeck as a safer bet but it feels its getting long in the tooth. It sucks because after all these years of watching new handheld videos I still don't feel secure in buying one. 😵‍💫
