Installation flip emblem logo camera VW Passat B6 variant

- This video show how to put a flip reverse camera on Passat B6 variant/kombi/estate/break/sw. this model don't have the system for put a flip camera. This style of camera is better than static camera because it is always protected against water and dust. On this video we will cut a part of tailgate, stick support of camera and place a flip camera order from Aliexpress. This camera can be installed without cuttin anything on VW Golf MK6, Passat b6/b7/b8 sedan, and Passat b8 SW, EOS,and other. On passat b6/b7 variant you need to cut a part of the tailgate for have the place to install this type of reverse camera..

Hello, sorry i don't have this car anymore. the video cable is under the plastic on left side. but you can do it on right side. you don't need to remove all the plastic on side. Just hide under. And in front you need to remove the plastic for put the cable to the radio.

It is too small cable hole channel of both as videos in 5:34 , for that reson i am using wireless video trasmitter, it works but it is flickering though i am using 5PIN relay, i took power source from Cigarette Lighter port from the trunk. I dont know what else coud be wrong. Could this be caused by video transmitter?
yes that true, wireless camera have sometime problem with flickering and the problem is the wave from other electronic part from the car, and of course the quality of the camera system. The hole is very small yes, and on video i show that there is a hole next to the channel on right side 5:34. you can use this hole. or last solution cut the cable and solder it after the hole.
Hi, can you help me with an advice, i connected the camera to the head unit and the reverse light, the camera works well but i can’t manage to make it flip back when i take it out of reverse, the only way is to put the car back in reverse one more time to close it
Hello, you mean that if you remove the reverse, the logo don't back to the "normal" position ? it stay open ?
Hi, thanks for the useful video. I have a doubt about a similar camera for my Passat B6 2010 with Topway TS10 aftermarket radio. I understand that the Canbus connection is used by the camera electronics to read the steering angle and paint the lines. Since I am not interested in the lines, do I still get video with the canbus cables disconnected? Thanks
Hello, welcome. yes you can use camera without canbus without line. Just need to connect video line (rca yellow) to your aftermarker radio. and connect your camera to reverse power line.
@@nocturneindustrie the problem is that my camera came with a blue MIB connector for VW radios (two cables, white and black) and my radio is aftermarket with yellow RCA video input (signal and ground). I am struggling to get it working. I have cut the MIB cable and soldered a yellow RCA according to Chinese seller's instructions, but I still don't get image on the radio when I put reverse. I was wondering if CAN bus was related, but you confirm that CAN bus is only for the lines and I should still be getting video image without lines. It's so hard to communicate with these Chinese sellers, their support is horrible
Hi, just to close this thread, I got it working by connecting the CAN bus cables. Image sucks, but at least it works. My recommendation is do not get any camera that uses NTSC or PAL with your Android head unit. It seems AHD 1080p is supported by most head units and the image quality difference is huge while the cost difference is just a couple of dollars.

Hello, I have a 2014 cc with BOSS audio aftermarket stereo, and was wondering if the 12V terminal location is different from your diagram? Are there any tips to find the 12V source in the fuse box and how do you connect the ground in fuse box? And one more thing, do I need to code anything if I purchase from Aliexpress for my model?
Hello, for find the 12V permanent and ignition, better to have a multimeter or tester which can give you the voltage. you can check on fuse box if you have free pin for fuse (from package). For connect the ground you can find it everywhere on véhicule, if you want to install as i did, just take off the screw and use ring terminal connector and put back the screw. For your model no need coding. Coding is only is you want to install on original VW radio.

Salut, non, aucun soucis au niveau de la batterie, c'est étudié pour. Le 12v permanent sert au moteur de pivotement de la caméra, si vous branchez le + permanent sur le 12v après contact, lorsque vous allez actionner la marche arrière puis ensuite retirer la clé du contact avant que le logo ne revienne a sa position initiale, celui-ci sera bloqué en position ouvert. Avec le + permanent, même les portes verrouillés le logo retournera à sa position initiale.
Hey sir! I’ve connected all the cables from trunk to the head unit. I soldered the positive and negative cables to the head unit ones and the blue one to the reverse light. But after I connected the RCA to the “camera” slot on the head unit, I have no signal. The camera works when I put it in reverse, because I can hear it and saw it aswell. On head unit it says the pink (parking) cable must be connected to B- (which is negative of head unit) and the instructions say I must connect the red cable that’s next of RCA with the reverse cable (which should be brown but I have 2 brown cables). Am very confused if u can help would be great full. Cheers!

if you talk about camera support, it is not included, you must to take it from vw golf mk5 tailgate or passat sedan trunk. VW stick it with strong glue/resine, you broke the glue and take the support.

Where do you find the ring suport for camera?They sell camera without that ring.
you can take it from VW golf mk5 tailgate. or VW passat b6 sedan. there is a strong glue with metal folding part. not difficult to remove.
@@nocturneindustrie Hi, I found the ring at a car dismantling workshop, but they cut the ring with a piece of tin from taigate. How to remove the ring from there, it is very glueded.
Hi, you need to keep this tin piece from tailgate, and take a scrwedriver for hit on the glue all around the ring for broke the glue then the ring will move and you have move power to separate the ring from tailgate. you can also use screwdriver for separate the tin piece who is folding on the ring. the ring is strong you can hit without damage it.
Hi, where you put drain pipe ?
Just next to tailgate closing mechanism, there is hole on each side, 1 side have tailgate closing mechanism cable and other side is free, you can enlarge the hole and put the drain pipe here.
if I want to open the trunk, how do I do it? I'm thinking that if I installed this camera, I can no longer operate the trunk opening
Hello, yes you can open the trunk. You push for flip the logo and the trunk will open. Exactly same as golf 6 golf 7 Passat 8 etc.
Hi, one question: My fuse on the camera is blown. I ordered same product as you fyi. My car vw cc battery is giving out 14.4v, but I guess the fuse was for 12V. Do you have suggestion?
Can I replace the fuse to a 14.4V one and camera would still work at that voltage?
Hello, no problem with 14.4V. All cars when engine is running have voltage between 13V and 14.8V. So did you try another fuse for check is the fuse will burn again ? did you had this problem when you connect it?
@@nocturneindustrie I fixed it! I connected to a 10A terminal.. So I just replaced the fuse. If I want to get rid of the line, do I cut the white wire?
Yes you cut white wire and you will not have the line.

Hi, I installed the camera and everything works fine. Unfortunately when I turn the car on the lights are tested and the 12v comes on in reverse. This gets the camera out every time. Is there a way to avoid this?
Hello, yes it's possible to avoid this problem, you need to remove the check light from the controle module, (BCM), for that you need tool as VCDS or other who can do coding.
