So einen ähnlichen Passat hatten meine Eltern früher auch! 👍 Die Anhängekupplung haben wir öfters genutzt, doch um Rennen zu fahren würde ich die abbauen - wiegt ja auch einige Kilo.. 🤷🏻♂
Mein 1,8 DS Motor mit brutalen 90 PS hat bei 150 tkm das 4+E Getriebe gemeuchelt. Dann kam ein gebrauchtes rein und weiter gjngs. Hab ihn sogar noch auf 3 Wege Kat mit elektronischer Vergaserregelung umgebaut. Mechanisch ein gutes Auto, aber innen eine elende Klapperkiste.
Mein Vater hatte ihn neu gekauft und sofort Unterbodenschutz behandeln lassen. Das war damals noch wie so ein Bitumenzeug, wurde steinhart das Zeug. Nicht wie heute der Müll mit blauem Engelchen. Aber stimmt schon, die Radläufe hinten waren später ne Katastrophe! Hätte man machen können, aber die Kiste wurde mir nachher auch zu teuer. Nur U-Kat gehabt und auch etwas durstig LOL.
Dude i absolutely admire your Passat, my dad bought one of these when i was a kid , he build the car back from being descent for a scrap yard to a fully drivable vehicle, i grew up in this car , learned how to drive in this car and became a carguy as a kid , i would love to have it as my car and dedicate it to my beloved father , seeing it in videos makes me soo excited for the future builds I'm planning im my head , can't wait to see my dad's reaction after he sees the car done someday when I'm financially stable, WHAT A W 😊🔥🙌

Ich weiß nicht mal, ob es so an dem Porsche liegt - ich hab mit einem 75 PS Audi 100 LS angefangen - heute fahre ich 273 TDI PS - die zwar schneller beschleunigen - aber ich meine einfach, dass ich früher mit dem 75 PS Audi mit glaub 700 - 900 kg einfach im Endeffekt schneller war. Klar nicht auf der Autobahn, aber so auf den kurvigen Landstraßen usw. - kann man vom Verkehr zwar nicht mehr vergleichen, aber das scheiß Gewicht der neueren Autos ist und bleibt trotz moderner Fahrwerke und Monsterreifen einfach ein Problem.

Kudos to the driver of the Passat. He has skills. The suspension on the Passat was bouncing all over the place yet he maintained control and adjusted to not lose speed. Put Kw coil overs on that thing and turn the springs to the stiffest setting. You’ll gain a lot more time. 😎

I had a Passat like that in the early 80s, my first car, donated by dad. I don't think it offered the same HP! Did 115k miles, then the gearbox jammed up whilst I was doing a 3 point turn on a road in Newbury. Blocked the traffic for an hour until the AA (and my dad) arrived. So embarrassing! She was taken away for scrap. I designed and fitted a digital dash too with an electronic volt meter. Next was an Audi Coupe GT. Anyway, this is fun, great to see what can be done to an old car.

Hatte ihn in den 90ern als GT mit 90PS von meinem Onkel und danach noch nen Turbodiesel. Waren geile Autos, leicht, zuverlässig und schön :)

Welch schöner Passat - damals schon, als er neu war, mein Traumwagen. Die gute Zeit hier scheint sogar trotz Verschaltens zustandegekommen sein?
Ist schon sehr cool. Vorne noch orangene Blinkerkappen rein und 15er Stahlfelgen rauf. Dann wäre der "Sleeper-Look" noch perfekter :-)
