    Hello everyone, several people have noticed a discrepancy with the number of rows in the BACK panel. In the video, the instructions state that the back panel is 26 rows total, however, upon going back to the cardigan and re-counting the rows, I realized that number is incorrect. The back panel is actually 35 rows, which is the 15 rows of front panel (x2) + 5 rows for the neck space. I am sorry for this error in my instructions and for any confusion (or frogging!) this may have caused! 😟Since this is a made-to-measure cardigan, I am hoping most of you took your own measurements and made the cardigan according to your own size, so this error on my part didn't affect your project! Thank you to those of you who caught this error and brought it to my attention!

      I already submitted a comment above, but I am so anxious to start this pattern. I wanted to know the needle size type of yarn, and if I don't have that yarn, what alternate yarn can I use. I actually have a yarn here. It is self-contained like a T-shirt yarn. It's not that heavy and I'm wondering if I were to crochet a swatch. What size would I need to do to check this, yarn to make sure that it would work up the same way? The yarn I have is made in Turkey. It's buttercream luxe craft soft knit multi, 3 ounces, 86 grams, 100 percent polyester. They recommend size 9/5.5 mm knitting needles
      Or size, I/5.5 mm crochet hook. 158 yards. How many yards in total are needed to make this? I apologize, I'm not that savvy on social media, so if this is listed somewhere else, I haven't seen it.

    • @CrochetStateofMind
      @CrochetStateofMind  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SusanPariseau The yarn I used was weight 4, 100% acrylic. The recommended hook size was 5mm but I used a 6mm hook for the project. Regarding the yarn you referenced, I am honestly not sure how that would turn out. As your yarn is polyester, I can't guarantee it will turn out the same. I used 3.5 skeins, and each skein was 407 yards, so roughly 1400 yards. I hope this helps! ☺

    Do stacked stitches always work? If so, then that's great and much nicer. I discovered your channel a few days ago and am thrilled by the simplicity and the beautiful results. Does the pattern have to be an even number?
    And it's great that you share your knowledge with us😊

    • @CrochetStateofMind
      @CrochetStateofMind  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi @nicolemoser2766 - great questions! Stacked stitches are for when you want to have a clean, straight, edge, however, you would not need to do them if you planned on adding a border around them, because the border would straighten it for you. Regarding the even number, for this specific pattern, yes, you would want it to be even, but it is dependent on the pattern. Hope this helps and thanks for watching ☺️

    This is so impressive. I love the ease of the design and that you incorporated the dc foundation and the stacked sc. I believe those make the work look more professionally finished. The vertical design was also a difference I haven’t often seen for clothing. I love it. Great job!

    simply love the colors of your duster/sweater. I stumbled on your channel , saw the duster and I am trying to make it. As a new crocheter I have had to frog some rows. Currently in the process of making first arm hole (22 chains). I did make my first panel a bit wider than the 15 rows. So excited that I finally found someone that has done gorgeous work and I can understand. thank you!

      Hi @Pixieworksstudio - thank you so much! All of my projects are made-to-measure, so I recommend you take your measurements to ensure it fits perfectly. I prefer this method rather than putting people in the box of S, M, L, XL because we're all different shapes and sizes and standard sizes can fit each individual differently. I've included what specifically to measure in the description box, and I've also put together a short tutorial on how to take your own measurements: th-cam.com/video/kNnRoJzOqzA/w-d-xo.html. @@elaineb1409 Hello, thank you for your comment. Did you mean double crochet (US terms)? If so, I do use double crochet as well as half double crochet stitches in the pattern. The pattern is a 4-row repeat: Rows 1 & 3 are DC rows, row 2 is a cross stitch DC row, and row 4 is a half double crochet row. I just don't use the traditional chain 3 at the end of every DC row because I personally don't like the gaps the chain 3 creates. So instead of chaining 3, I prefer to use the stacked single crochet as an alternative, which keeps my edges straight and gap-less.

    @CreochetStateOfMind i just came across your video the other day. I am excited to make this, but I realized that I don't have a lot of the information needed. The yarn information, what size hook are you using? How many skeins of yarn are needed? Are there any alternate yarns that could be used? Your explanations of the process are wonderful. I think I can follow you all the way through from start to finish, making this. I would like to make this for my granddaughter for Christmas, I know she'll love it, and 1 for myself. Do you have other videos on here that I can look for? I can't tell you how much I appreciate your sharing your pattern, and knowledge with all of us. Great instructions and I'm so glad it was just one whole piece. I don't like sewing lots of pieces together. Thank you for providing these instructions!
    I'm not sure why or how but I think I missed something. Your instructions say 15 rows for each side panel. Your back panel looks like it is 30-32 rows (which makes sense) but you're instructions say only 26. Shouldn't it be 15+15 =30 or 16+16=32? When you are stitching the side panels to the back panel for the shoulders, it looks like there is enough stitches to even leave some space (for the neck I'm assuming). What did I miss?

    • @CrochetStateofMind
      @CrochetStateofMind  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @terrismith3209 hello and thank you for the comment! After reading your comment I went back and double-checked and you are absolutely correct, there is an error. The back panel is actually 35 rows, not 26! I'm honestly not sure where the 26 came from, definitely a mistake on my part. I went ahead and made a comment in the comment section updating the row count for the back panel so that others are aware of this error. Thank you for catching it and bringing it to my attention, and sorry if this caused any unnecessary frogging!

    I’ve been looking for months now to make a cardigan . Yours is the most beautiful and the pattern is very easy looking. I started mine and I wasn’t doing very good with my foundation Road double crochet so I simply chained 120 and then I did 120 double crochets but I noticed that the chain edges are tighter. I don’t know how that’s gonna work if I continue I’m on fourth row right now. Any suggestions?

    • @CrochetStateofMind
      @CrochetStateofMind  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @carlalambert9686 Thank you so much for the nice feedback! When you say tighter, do you mean the foundation row looks smaller/shorter than the rest of the pattern? Meaning is your work looking like it's widening as you work up your rows? If so, that's usually what happens with traditional foundation chains, especially if you have a tighter tension like me (hence why I use the foundation DC row as it creates a stretchier foundation row that is consistent with the rest of the rows). My recommendations if you're not comfortable using the FDC row are: 1) use a hook that's 1mm larger just for the foundation chain, then go back to your regular hook size for the remainder of the project. So if you're using a 6mm hook for your cardigan, use a 7mm hook for the foundation chain only, then go back to the 6mm hook for the rest of the project. 2) work your Row 1 stitches in the back bumps of the foundation row. I hope that helps!

      @@CrochetStateofMind Oh okay, thank you so much. I maybe just need to practice the foundation DC. Yes, the stitches are widening up as I go, so I only have the first 4 rows done. and it looks way tighter, I am afraid one side will be looser and one tighter when done thus not hanging evenly. (waiting to hear back-- thanks for being so quick!) I will frog what I have done and start either with a larger hook or try the foundation DC again. Thanks!! :)
