Hey everyone! Rob here with Travels With Dottie, bringing you a new video exploring the charming downtown Las Vegas, New Mexico. Join me as we visit iconic filming locations from popular series and movies, including Longmire, No Country for Old Men, and the original Red Dawn.
I teamed up with ‪@sally_forth‬ for this adventure-be sure to check out her channel at Sally Forth. We encountered some technical issues with our initial footage, but we made the best of it. I hope you enjoy the final result!
In this video, we wander through the historic streets, showcasing beautiful old buildings like the Fidelity Building, and explore the unique architecture of this quaint town. Despite some detours and funny moments, we eventually find the main square where many memorable Longmire scenes were shot.
We also visit the Plaza Hotel, a significant landmark in Las Vegas, NM, known for its appearances in multiple films and the Longmire series. You'll see the exact spots where famous scenes were filmed and hear some fun facts about the history of these places.
Dottie and Kit join us for this ride, adding their adorable touches to our journey. Along the way, we encounter an old-time movie theater, charming cafes, and unique shops.

Once again.... thanks for a really fun video! Las Vegas, NM is now on my list of places to visit! Some of my favorite movies were also shot in other parts of New Mexico: Silverado, Cowboys and Aliens, and my all-time independent favorite that mentions several towns in NM... The Outfitters.

It reminds me, a little, of the town I grew up in.
As for dash cam footage, people can be, and often are, ticketed when road rage incidents or accidents are caught on dash cams. There are TH-cam channels devoted to viewing dash cam footage of such cases. An innocent case of not paying for a single item, that was quickly corrected, or running a stop sign, which caused no harm, is probably not worth he bother to most officers. The administration costs would be more than the fine. But it probably depends on the jurisdiction.
