And I believe what Kimmy B was getting at was that as a clinician she strives to have the same attitude towards patients as that of Dr Charles. When Kimmy says clinician she is referring to her job role not Dr Charles

@@williamtansley4467 you are right about everything. But isn't clinician a general term for someone who gives primary care to the patient? A clinician can be a doctor, a medical assistant etc etc So he is a doctor and i think does come under clinician. He is a doctor who is a psychiatrist.

Watching this a second time shows this man was quite intelligent. He learned that an on the spot attempt wouldn't work and that the pain would stop him. He'd need to be medicated and make sure no one could se what he was doing till it was too late. He kept his ears and eyes open and thought of a better plan. I can't see this from his perspective and I can't imagine feeling like a body part isn't mine, but all the same I'm impressed by his resourcefulness

For me as such it felt I stole your limb and I needed to return it. Or that I have an additional leg that i know nobody notices but for me everytime someone looks at me they are looking at my stolen leg. Abi I respect that you have such integrity I know a lot of people who shame me but I’m so happy in my life before I contemplated suicide every day. I suppose it’s like being gay, you feel different about yourself and just need to change no matter what people think of you. It’s like why do transgender people transition because they were born in the wrong body same with me my leg felt like it wasn’t mine. Unfortunately a lot people do this for attention however I’m not like that I needed to remove it or it’s like I needed to transition.

I told my daughters that mummy has got a bubu in her head that makes her feel sad about her leg and when mummy removed her leg and gets a new one I will be the best mummy for you. Seriously the best doctor in series and I hope I can become like him. It seems like he's studied a lot of German and french idealism in the sense of self and respects that there is nothing absolute and we have to see other people's experiences, because that's what medicine is based on. It's in the middle of anthropocentric and hardcore sciences.

I like everything about this story apart Dr. Charles feeling down for not being able to foresaw this outcome. While the patient's condition has already been described, no doctor should blame himself for not being able to prevent such an outcome. It's true that, from a certain point of view, it was an happy ending, but the ''best'' happy ending would have been the patient being able to cope with his pathology, so it was normal for Charles to aim to that.
