      If you ordered the duel fuel stove, you are going to like the stove a lot more than a regular propane camping stove. When it comes to simmering or a full boil, this stove os a great choice.

    Wow! I liked the variety of old stoves you showed to compare and contrast. I’ve used a lot of them over the years too and also think, except for backpacking, the grill boss is the way to go for most camping situations. It’s even good for wok cooking.

    Good video, great info, so thanks.
    I recently took delivery on a Grill Boss, this morning, and to test, I boiled two eggs in 4 cups of water.
    I believe it to be a keeper. Love how low it can simmer. Love the long and flexible propane hose.
    The water came to a boil in 4 min.
    Thanks again.

    Thanks, I just bought this stove and it arrived today. I was unsure if I chose the right stove, but now I feel more confident in my decision after watching your video. I have one of those refillable butane canisters and I purchased 12 butane cylinders from Amazon. I will use them mainly for backup, but they should be great for camping also.

    You can always put the leftover butane into the refillable propane tank. Propane vapor pressure is higher than butane so it will be perfectly safe.

    • @Linus007
      @Linus007  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Propane tanks are more than strong enough to hold butane. Of course the reverse is not true.

    Thank you!!! I narrowed my choice down to this unit because of the safety features. (I’m a bit nervous about butane only because I haven’t used it in many years.)
    We have frequent power outages but also want to take it car camping. You gave so much valuable information, that I feel confident. This is great.

    Great video, I hope to find a similar dual fuel cooker here in Australia.
    Although I have one gripe after the disparaging comment you left on my own Butane camp stove video, I did not and do not recommend ANYONE refill these. At 4 times the pressure of butane, it is not worth the risk. During my own tests at 35℃ plus temperatures a refilled canister will trigger the safety and vent which is dangerous and potentially life threatening.

    • @Linus007
      @Linus007  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the update. I was not referring to your video in this one. My reference is to refilling any non-refillable containers. You do mention in your video that filling a butane cylinder with propane is not safe. I found your video a few hours after I filmed mine. Your video came up in a search.
      In Australia, are your treads on the tanks different than North America? I assume they are metric.

    Hey like your review I am in Australia and I think our laws and stuff are very similar but I can't find any portable stoves to use indoors for wok cooking like butane! there are hundreds for sale but all say outdoor use only , but I see asian people using them indoors so is it "Use at your own risk" scenario? Or are there specific ones suitable for indoor use? Cheers Mat .

    • @Linus007
      @Linus007  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the issue is the capacity when it comes to danger. So the butane containers are lower pressure and they have a lower capacity. It’s not as dangerous to have 250 g of butane floating around versus 2 kg of propane. Most people use butane safely indoors, outdoors, my recommendations if you try that make sure you have adequate ventilation. They do make very small propane containers here in North America. That can hold up to 50 g of propane. It is my opinion those are safer than the 450 g containers. I hope this helps. None of the thing that you could get is a carbon monoxide detector. Having all those things is considered Defense in Depth for the risks.

  • @ugsisr
    @ugsisr ปีที่แล้ว

    Very good content... Does Propane burn Cleaner ,ex: Less Carbon ?

    • @Linus007
      @Linus007  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment. Both propane and butane burn extremely clean. The resulting output is heat carbon dioxide, and water. The other fuels are very similar if the fuel is burning at the proper temperature. For example, the kerosene stove will burn very clean as long as it is burning hot. All of these stoves, except for the electric stove might produce carbon monoxide if the air fuel mixture is incorrect. Care should be taken to prevent a pot from getting too close to the flame where it cools the flame. That particular action can result in increased carbon monoxide production.

    • @Linus007

      Are you seeing a spark? Is the wire damaged? Without the spark, no ignition will take place of the wire is damaged or the spark device is too far away from the metal parts of the stove.

    This stove is complete junk. I bought one. Cheap flimsy case came pre broken for me. Gas leaks, stove caught fire, fixed that and now gas won’t flow through it after only a couple of uses. It has a new home today. Straight in the trash can. Absolute garbage. I tried replacing it and the second one was just as poor quality.
