Top build mate! I have just built a 1500w kit and also noticed it was down on speed, I went into the settings and it was set by factory default at 20 in the P14 setting which was limiting the power to the motor. I changed it to 35 which the 1500 w can easily handle and now BOOM !! Was only doing about 22MPH before now 35 / 40 MPH no problems!!!

I cut the line on my break that cuts the motor off because it puts wear and tear on your motor if you keep breaking stopping that's what it said in my book that came with it
Great new built I think giant make some good frames and everything fits really well into the frame looks nice and neat with out all the spaghetti all over the place like you see on some other peoples builds. It certainly runs well don't forget to fix the seat before the next run out and stay safe.
I agree i have a giant trance full suspension and it's been a good solid bike for me. Good bikes for the money. Frames are bigger than the trek so fitted nicely but I've found a way I can fit controller in trek frame and will do that soon. No I didn't forget the seat i tightened that properly as soon as I got home, was a pain that coming loose. Cheers mate
Great video and great build. I also converted a 29" Giant Talon. Those fixed tail Mountain bikes wind up being some of the best to convert. Just switched from to Maxxis Hookworm tires since I am on pavement 90% of the time. It reduces the tire noise and makes the ride very smooth. I like the mid drive kits instead of rear hubs. The controller is in the motor too for a much cleaner look. Is there a reason you favor the hub kits? Is it the high watt and high speed of the hub kits?

Its an easy answer this was myfirst build and experience with diy ebikes and wasn't sure if I would like so got a cheap kit to try really and i actually enjoy more than I thought. Its just nice getting out on a bike and exploring which it does OK for me I don't think I expected much so it does OK. Hills I justneed to keep my momentum but then I don't do silly stuff. Mid drives sound good apart from always changing gear but I do want to build 1 sometime to experience. Hope this makes sense Cheers

Hi and thanks yes I should have done a build but sometimes it's just get on with the job and camera slows me down. Anyway if I was riding pure throttle on flat areas riding fast a good 30 miles in the summer winter I lose range about 10%. Riding fast no peddling with a mixture of hills a good 20 miles. If peddl8ng in gear 1 then 50 plus easy . Depends on weight also. Hope this helps

Thank you I'm pleased with end results too. Cheers I used bought a large controller box from ebay and used just the part that clamps to the upright tube. Attached it to that with wire or you could bolt it to it but I used wire ties. Hope this helps 👍

The sw900 doesn't have a 52 volt option, so the larger tyre bike must be running on 48 volt ? No good for the battery either as it can't be fully charged, and green light never comes on.
great bike, i'd go for one of those triangle battery if it can fit because it can go 52v 28amp hour, the space inside that frame looks like its quite narrow though, same problem on my bike because the rear shock. I don't see the appeal of bigger wheels than the standard 26, top speed ? but thats also going to depend on the motor windings and stuff ?
Yes quite tight with space for battery . Triangle would be tidier for sure if it would fit. Bigger wheels are a smoother ride, more cushion. 26 better for getting power down. Alot more ground clearance with 27.5 or 29er for off road. I just got same size as original bike as I didn't want the mullet look. Cheers, I enjoy this bike, great fun

oh yeah thats what I want to make or something close to it, its still out of stock on the website though ( Solos ). The frame looks quite thin at the back, where it goes upwards towards the seat, will it really take the power of the 2KW motor when its modified to do 3 or 4 kw ? also is 26 inch wheel size going out of fashion on newer mountain bikes ? I don't know whether to choose or recommend 26 inch or 27.5 to people or for myself.
Yes I keep looking at solos also, hopefully soon. It's a decent frame should be fine I would say if anything the forks are weak link but better than the trek marlins. Once I tried a 27.5 I can't go back to a 26in, less clearanceand and rougher ride. 29er is smooth and good for top speed but they have some flex then cornering I'm a little jubious about. 27.5 is my choice. These new frames have different gears now I belive they are 9 speed stock.
How did u fit ur display in the centre? I got the same display, and giant talon but the handle bars go thicker towards the centre, So had to put it to the left and doesnt look as good ?
Yes same as my bars I just opened up the clips and didn't put screws back in. It moves a little but if you gotta fix a flat then screen will move round and not get damaged when I flip the bike over. Hope you understand. Could always get longer screws if not happy with it not fixed

Evening prices all vary, battery is most expensive item depending on donor bike. The complete conversion kits are from 700 to 900 pounds for what I fit. Different makes of battery, Samsung top grade, Panasonic happy medium. Chinese cheap stuff. Bike and kit then rest is just extras Thank you Hope this helps a little
eBay and Amazon and it shows you which wires to hook up I was thinking I'm putting one on the back rack behind my seat disconnecting the back brake line because it stops your motor so you can do wheelies I have them on eBay and Amazon

About to order a solos 2000w kit. Trek marlin 5 But what freewheel ? They advise single speed cassette, or 7 gears Plz help me understand what this means mate ? Love ur vids
Good kit and bike for the money. Have a look at the whyte 603 for £469 it's a quality bike. My trek was 7 speed cassette and 3 chain rings up front so was a straight swap. I can't use lowest gear as catches hub slightly. I keep mine in a happy medium gear and never change hub does the work Thank you glad you enjoy Cheers

I think the 2000w 27.5 is a good choice. Not sure how gears would work not that I change gear only if I run out of battery I use pedals. It only goes up to 7 speed on cassette
1500 watt kits do 34 mph fast now let's see if he tells us how fast it goes he didn't say the price 2,000 w must be over $300 because the 1500 watt is almost $300 kit I'll stick with the 1500 and just do 34 mph
Right now I have the thumb throttle I paid and it folds my friend just got a folding one cuz he liked it paid $770 with a twist throttle it doesn't even go as fast as mine 350 Watts just like mine 600 bucks for 350 w that goes 20 mph I want to get the back kit 1500 w is only like 270 I think and the battery is almost 200 or around 200 some of them go for $300 but my friends is factory just like mine if you put a kit with a twist throttle it will just go without pedaling
Hey man, did you grind a little bit away of your torque arm? I have the talon 3 2022, I don't have the kit yet, but as I see it now the torque arm will not fit I think. I ordered the same torque arm as you did, I'm actually making my bike just as yours because this one looks the coolest 😎
No grinding but I used some washers between the arm and frame on the torque are bolt to pack it out and fit square. Yes I didn't use the one provided with kit just because its held on with jubilee clip. Thank you I'm glad it's inspired you mate and hope this helps

All depends on battery and bike. But I got a decentish long range battery that was just under £500. Kit another £250 and bike £495. Can get cheaper stuff just depends on budget.

normal thing is to have 3 modes, 25km (legal one) 40km and unlimited

Bag with wire would look better strapped to bike seat pole ,only thing you can't adjust seat much , at least I think it would.

It's just a complete kit from solos bikes in the UK. If honest I didn't do a detailed vid on this bike. Hope this helps though

The green light does come on when fully charged and shows 58v on the sw900 volt readout. So that's all I can confirm
